  1. I think that trials should be included in the Olympics, it takes more mental and physical strengths than some of the other sports that are already included. One day it might be in them. You look at how much trials has evolved over the years and how many more people ride now than they did 10 years ago. As our sport grows even further it will start to be recognised more and may well be a sport that we can win gold in.
  2. You can use an extension bar from a socket set to remove a headset, make sure you keep the headset square to the head tube as you knock it out. Or if you want it done correctly take it to a bike shop. BB tools are really cheap to buy and are always handy to have in your tool box.
  3. I'm not really bothered about gear changing. I always ride with it set in one gear. I did used to use a rohloff chain and I thought it was great, seemed almost indestructable. Don't want to use a standard chain, as i never found them to be strong enough when riding hard.
  4. I hate the fact that I will have to wait untill June, when i go back home untill I will be riding again.
  5. I had heard something about the KMC chains, that helps me, Cheers.
  6. I would like to know what chains some of you are using. I have been out of riding for a while now so alot has changed. I will be running an 8 speed cassette and rear mech. Your help would be much appreciated, Thanks.
  7. I completely agree with what your saying, why do so many of the pre members post crap topics which have no relevance to trials what so ever. I signed up to this forum believing i would be reading trials threads, but you just get "New Apple Products" and pre members trying to buy/sell things. Come on guys and girls read the rules and important info and write topics which are relevant to the Trials Forum. sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting on a bit,but i want to see helpful information when i come on this site.
  8. Lots of chains. couple sets of bars, Echo ES3 frame, maguras, killed a tryall front rim. Broke most of the teeth oyt of a Hope bulb rear hub.
  9. Your correct they are 20", Shame i ride 26"
  10. I first learnt how to back hop and trackstand.
  11. I agree, got through a few pairs, kept rounding them off. Thats a few years ago now. Got a bit older and could afford a decent pair.
  12. I had a Saracen X-ile with FSA power pro cranks.
  13. I work at a 5* hotel so i get to drive these
  14. Ford Focus and a Mini cooper S at home. Ferari's, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins and lots more at work.
  15. I always use a cut off of tyre. Zip ties look a bit messy so you could use some velcro. make sure its the stuff with the sticky back. Stick one bit to the back of the tyre and the other piece to the down tube, looks a bit smater.
  16. Its great to see a good review about trials. I must go and ride Bristol ssome time if you dont get moved on, normally you get moved on or get threatened with an ASBO these days.
  17. I would go for the Tryall every time, ive never had a problem with them.
  18. I have never had a 20" but i have heard good things about the T-pro. It does have a good spec, certainly good enough for someone that is just learning trials. Seems like a good price too.
  19. I am right footed and thats the direction i do everything, sidehops, spins and gaps. Completely rubbish with my left foot forward.
  20. Go for a 20", they are cheaper and you can learn on them quicker. your height is not a problem because you can get long and short versoinsof some bikes. I have always ridden a 26" but different people prefer different bikes.
  21. DMR V8's. There cheap and have loads of grip.
  22. Not trying to p**s on your bonfire or anything but your not meant to be selling things in the newbies section.
  23. Yes you would be able to change the chainring. The bashring is fitted but the chainring is helt on by chain ring bolts. If you get a new chain ring remember that the number of bolts varies, maybe 4 bolt or 5.
  24. im quite a short rider thats why i will be getting a shorter frame. im about 5,10". i can throw a bike around but will a long stem be difficult for me.
