  1. I just got a GU blade lever and it really is sooo much nicer than the old 2 finger maggie. Don't replace the tpa you can stick the one you have in the new lever. the monty hose splitters are a piece of junk, they make your brake not work nearly as well... don't use one of those.

  2. A mate of mine who used to ride trials said to me that i could still put a HS33 on my bike even though it only has mounts for Vees. He said it would move about slightly and i may have to get a booster. Has anyone done this and if so, is it okay like that? I'd really like a maggie because my current vee is on its last legs.

    Any advice welcome.

Sure you can do that! I would for sure recommend running a booster otherwise you would get quite a bit of frame flex.

  3. Man! Water bleed is the way to go! I can't believe how much better it is... sure the brake pistons may wear out eventually but by then I'm sure I'll probably have something newer (or at least it will give me a good excuse to upgrade (Y)).

I was doing it pretty much right except I didn't know that both ends of the brake (lever and slave cylinder) had to be under water... I don't know what I was thinking though.

    Thanks Guys for the help!

  4. I think the general concensus (sp?) on these frames are that they ride shockingly. Personally i wouldnt like one anyway because of the 55+ bb rise, but i believe most people hated the ride of them with the exception of a few people obviously.

shockingly, huh? yeah +55 bb is not so good...

would you say the '05 Control would be better than this Hi-fi?

  5. I learned to hop backward first and then I figured out how to push the handlebars forward and jump with my calves and that kept me in the same place instead of always going back and then it wasn't hard to figure out the timing of pedalkicks! just keep practicing... it will get so that its more natural and you don't waste all of your strength in one jump:)

  6. I just got my GU stock fork in the mail last week, but there's a problem! The tube that goes up through the head tube is way way way too long! What am I going to do?

Is this normal, cuz I've never built a bike before...

  7. Hi all. I recieved my new Gu Le throught the post today, after over 6 weeks of waiting! Built it up all ok, started to ride it, and there is a scary amount of brake flex on the rear. Not having a built in booster on the frame i expected a bit of flex, but this is stupid. So i re-set up my brake as close to the rim as possible, but then i pull the lever, the pads engage straight away, but it spounges back to the bars! I have a booster in my house somewhere, but the last time i put a booster on my bike the brake felt horrible, and i lost all noise (not greatly bothered about noise, but noise normally = power).

So i was just wondering if anyone elses Le is like this, and what they did to solve to problem, or just put up with it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
