  1. Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated, I went for the ViZ fork in the end, headset will probably be a hope because I 'm shallow and want a gold one but not sure if the King is tough enough for my 190lb! Alex sorry I didn't see your frame and brake until too late, otherwise id have taken that, anyway I will put pictures up once its built
  2. thanks Alex I have some other noob questions - can someone explain: whether I need a freewheel? Am i right in thinking that if the rear hub doesnt have a freewheel then i must get one on the cranks(?) if so which BB and cranks should i get (I was considering either a Truvativ 128mm Isis one with Gu cranks and a White industries freewheel?, or maybe a Try-all one with the same) What Fork would people recommend? I was thinking a GU 20" for discs Do I need a chain tensioning device or devices? I'm not sure whether I need snail cams? (Which ones?) or a derailleur like thing? (Which one?) Headset - any recomendations I know King are usually 1st choice for road & MTb but not sure if the same applies for Trials or if theres another one to consider? brakes - Im planning on trying a new pair of Hayes HFX9s I have - do you think they will work ok or I have some Avid BB4 (cable) or Saints, should I bite the bullet and get some Hope Mono Trials? Any recomendations on stems and bars (bearing in mind Im 6ft 1" !)

  5. thinking of building my first MOD possibly the GU ST - but can't seem to find many opinions though. I'm 6 foot (14st) - the wheelbase is 1010 will it be too small for me? Also any opinions on the strength/any problems, the ride etc? Any advice or thoughts please Also a separate question: - any thoughts/ opinions of the the Truvativ Howitzer Holzfeller Trials cranks (isis)? I'm thinking of using them on my Pitbull or even this new Mod. Thanks

    Valentine >.<

Lol Craig, God i wish someone would have helped me out when I was 14! whatever you like dont feel you have splash out too much, take her somewhere for a walk, a coffee, a small gift & or a card, if shes worthwhile she'll appreciate you making a little effort to get to know her by taking some time to listen to what she has to say, try to enjoy her company and she will enjoy yours, be a gentleman and don't forget to be friendly AFTER your mini date too - its the wonderful world of Laydeeees - Enjoy!
  7. ..... women are nice, but can be devious, just relax & enjoy as many as you can
  8. Just wondering what people think, not sure if its a new idea, any advantages and disadvantages?
  9. Well i was trying to keep it quiet but im 42!! and I've loved bikes since i was 8 when I used to race friends around the block.. I also do lots of other things some people might say i'm a bit old for like skateboarding, surfing, skating, climbing and snowboarding, all that matters to me is it makes me happy I say don't listen to the nay sayers, make your own path
  10. You nailed them all! can I ask how tall are you and is that a standard or long zoo?
  11. Can anyone help please?, I'm interested in the bike MrKoxx's is selling on the forum but I can't contact him as I'm not validated. I'm not sure if this is a breach of the forum rules sorry if so, if not can someone ask him if he's still looking to sell his bike, thanks.
  12. Thanks for all the great advice guys, I'll be looking to get sorted with a bike soon, Mr schofield I had a look at the xtp 20" they look fun and very cool, guess I'd need a long, could be the right move if it will speed up learning. If I go stock I'll probably get an old one to start on, though I do have a weakness for shiny precious things too! Then again if its black I don't think she will spot it's a new bike. Could somebody who is validated give MrKoxx a prod about his Pitbull, if he mails me there may be a deal to be done. Thanks
  13. Really cool front rim and all round nice looking bike... not those grips though! I think it would also look good all matt black - but i really like black bikes (and cars).
  14. Thanks for the response so far guys, all really useful, any more please? I have seen a 2nd hand levelboss 26" in very good condition, the guy is selling it for his brother and doesn't know much about it (or bikes generally), he reckons it's about 3 years old and says it's a 1060 - not sure how he would know this unless its written on the frame - anyhow so far as i can see i cant find a 1060 levelboss? What do you think worth a look or wait and possibly get a pitbull, adamant or czar?
  15. Hi, could some people give me their opinions on what to learn on, I'm hoping to learn as quickly as possible, develop my core skills and have fun, I prefer saving for a nice bike and keeping it rather than buying/selling/upgrading from cheaper bikes (within reason!). I'm 6foot (longish legs though)& 210lbs I'm keen to give trials a go, despite having done a lot of other biking (road, mountain biking, downhill, jumping) I reckon my skills in trials will be pretty much like a total beginner! I've heard 20 inch wheels are easier to learn on (WebCyclery) but on another thread here it says 26" is easier, what counts as a long or short bike? I'm considering a few things - I have my old spooky bandwagon mtb (24 inch wheels, disc brakes but Marzochi z1 110 mm suspension forks on), or Koxx xps / zoo pitbull any thoughts/opinions/recomendations please?
  16. Hi everyone, my names Jon - currently living in London, I've been into cycling for many years starting in road, then xc mountain, dirt jump and downhill...but im not happy with my skill level. I've always fancied trials it looks brilliant fun and i would love to get some of the skills trials riders develop. I am living in the city now, so it seems the perfect time to try it. I'm really looking to increase my core bike skills and bike time..... a lot! Jon I dont have a trials bike yet, I'll be looking for some advice on bikes and before buying
