  1. Well... IMO the best for the money would be: Avid SD7 lever. Only a tenner and has a barrel adjuster and a power adjustment. Great lever Any arms should be fine to be honest, i've got SD7 arms and they are fantastic so i'd reccomend that. Cable wise I don't much about them but the linear slics seem to be the best. I've got an oddysey one. Whatever cable you get, lube the inside to make it feel mega quick. And pads it depends on what rim surface. I've got Plaz Crv's on a smooth rim and it's epic. Inspired Phat pads are meant to be mint aswell. EDIT: Too slow!
  2. Discs are just awful! Don't go near! This guy speaks the truth!
  3. Ahh, ok. If you can clearly see the frame flexing out then you need a stiffer booster. The Magura ones are awful to be honest. I highly reccomend the Trialtech Sport 2-bolt booster.
  4. Check for leaks, tighten all the barbs, fresh bleed (make sure it's airless), get a booster, set up PERFECTELY square. That WILL sort it.
  5. I think he already quit. But by the looks of things he's getting back into it. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=143105
  6. Go for the rear hydraulic but I honestly think you should stick with the front vee. I've just gone from front Magura to front vee and i'm loving the vee alot more. Just get an Avid SD7 lever and some good pads like the Inspired Phats or the TNN's or the Plazzi's or something, lube the cable, set it up and it'll be great.
  7. My mates on his second GU '08. First cracked where the seat stays met the top tube, got a replacement. Then his second cracked on the down tube like the previous post. Got that welded and now theres a HUUUGE crack on where the seat stays meet the top tube, just like his first frame.
  8. I have those same forks. I don't know an exact weight but i'm thinking around 1200g's. They are very very heavy. Lol.

I suppose some good has come out of it. Even if it does involve a Try-All part on a full deng bike. Lol.

  13. Oright. Are there any situations at-all where it is less grippy? And is that the only dis-advantage? Because I'm definately gonna do it if it is. Will the rest of the treads on the tyre wear more quickly if I cut some off because all the pressure will be on them? thanks for the reply's so far guys.
  14. Thanks Ali that post was really helpful... But I actually was meaning I don't care about weight. Lol. Weight is the last of my worry's. But with the whole cutting treads off... Does it really make it grippier? Seems kinda funny how cutting the grippy part of increases grip. Are there any disadvantages at-all to cutting off treads? Because I don't see many people doing it.
  15. Don't think the lad was boasting or anything. Just kinda saying 'Yeah, he is back because I ride with him' ? Just didn't word it the best.
  16. So other than weight, you'd still say this is best? And how much more tyre clearance do you need with your Monty?
  17. Kieran, what's the point? No-one else on the forum will get it. Sake. Hahahaha. Gotta love Damien Bowden

Frame i'm guessing. Shit, I accidently ticked yes because I thought you were the one with the GU. I meant no. Don't do it unless it's for money aswell. The Ice is a much nicer riding frame IMO and it's like £280 new. You could pick up a GU 06 frame for £80 second hand now. So definately ask for money aswell.

    Mod Tyres

Hey all, I'm needing new tyres again and I usually just go for double Creepy Crawlers, but this time I would like to try out something new. So, just out of the tyres on Tarty, but excluding the Echo's. I know I'm definately not gonna get them. So out of the Creepy's, Monty's, and Try-All's could you please give me your opinions. Correct me if i'm wrong but the creepy's are the longest lasting? The Monty's are the bounciest and grippiest? And the Try-All's are most puncture resistant? I'm not too sure if the above is true so would like your views on Puncture resistance, bounce and grip. Don't consider weight as I don't care about it atall. I've also heard alot of people saying front Try-All, Rear Monty is the best set-up. I'm aware it's the lightest which I don't care about but people say that it's the best set-up and not just because it's light. Again, your views please. Finally, if I were to go rear Monty Eagle Claw. How much more tyre clearance do you need over a Creepy that's 2.5? Because they are 2.6 and i'm not sure if it will fit. It's an Onza ice frame is that helps. Thanks in advance. Hunter
  20. Take the short board and go. Short boards are alot more fun. Great for tricks and spins. EDIT: I realised you said you will just be going down at speed, in which case, longer boards are better for speed and stability. I always thought it was meant to be up to your shoulder, chin area anyway? Meh, it should be fine.
