  1. Cheers for all the help guys. I'll give it a shot when I get the time and will say if it works or not.

Just one thing I need cleared up...

Never use WD40 it isn't a lubricant its a penetrating oil.

Do as mentioned - with the WD40/GT85,

    Should I or shouldn't I use WD40?

Please tell me whats best to use.

    Thanks very much.

  2. the pads will still retract even if there is a leak, have you tried spraying a bit of lube on them as they do get dry sometimes or if they get dusty or some crap in them? And have you got your tpa adjuster wound all the way in as the pad wont retract all the way if you have.

TPA is all the way out. And I know what you mean

Take the slaves off the bike, take the pads out, then pull the lever all the way in, and spray both pistons (on the slaves) with wd40 or whatever.

Try it and report back. :)

Aye, might try that. Need to stock up on WD40 though. :P

  3. maybe there might be bits of frozen water in your brake??? therefor siezing the brake a bit maybe

if not theres got to be air in the brake

Don't think so because I can retract it with my hands. If it was frozen it would be stuck. And i've got a water/ antifreeze bleed.

    Cheers for the help though.

  4. if you are running cnc'd backings the o-ring may be a bit stiff so take it off and put a bit of water on the o-ring and push it bach on gently.

It's the actual slave that's not returning so how will that make a difference?

And just checked, now when I pull the lever in BOTH pistons stay in. :'(

  5. Hey,

My Magura is really wierd and i'm not sure what's wrong with it.

When you pull in the lever the pads push in but one side doesn't return and stays in, therefore rubbing off the rim.

So then if you pull it back with your fingers and pull the lever again, it might be the other side that won't return.

So because both sides do it, it's not a lazy piston.

Does anyone know what I can do? It's really pissing me off. I tried re-bleeding. Didn't work.

    Cheers.

  6. I don't think it is. Tar is an easy if not poor substitute for a poor brake set up. A properly set up brake, with a decent grind and a good set of pads will always out perform tar.

Yeah, I agree and love grinds in the winter.

But in summer when the weathers dry. (Mostly)

Tar can be great. A set of Snowies in CNC or something with a but of tar on smooth works a treat. Plus, You don't need to buy new discs, grind your rim and make your rim weaker.

However in Autumn/ Winter Grinds ALWAYS.

  7. I used to be 5.

    Good point.

Shame you can't learn ANY SONG by ear... :shifty:

    http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/p/paul...arified_tab.htm

The guitar pro one is a good tab, but I dunno if you have that.

    LEARN, VIDEO IT.

Hmm, well, that tab has no string skipping in it, which it should have.

Hmm, I'mma have a look and give it a shot. Will maybe encourage me to go on my guitar. Haha

    EDIT:

Why did the start of that make me laugh so much!?

  8. Yeah, but your nothern. And 99.999999% of northeners ride high bb bikes. :P

That's because we know what's nice and whats not. :wink2:

now now with the northern jokes lol

has anybody found it inpossible to do something on a higher bb?

And to answer your question no. infact, for me, going from +55 to +70 has made pretty much everything feel better. Theres nothing that's 'impossible'. :)

  9. Aha, I could always send you a zoo! python, for free

If you send me your ice. ^_^

Hehe. 'Fraid not. My Ice is riding sexier than ever right now! :P

And Jack, glad you realised the way. Front vee's are unbeatable. B)

  10. Yeah, and.....? :shifty:

    :P

    Aha! You ledgend.

My T-pro has a massive crack on the brake mounts too. But it's too big to run a back brake with.

I'm currently collecting old parts so I can build it up again brakeless. :P

    Can't wait! Haha.

  11. Has anyone tried the "Brand-X Thermoplastic V-Brake Booster" from Chainreactioncycles? I cannot seem to find a decent booster anywhere. Was looking for the salsa carbon but nobody stocks them??

Yes! My mate had one for a while. Don't get it! Was absolutely shocking. Didn't reduce flex atall.
