  1. I just love double slick for when it's dry, not only do you get more grip but it sheds mud really great too. Well, mud pretty much doesn't get stuck on it.

Great for if you go through dog shit too. Normally, on treaded tyres, it sticks on so much, but slicks shed shit good.

    :)

  2. I actually see no point in a split link, apart from people to rob your chain?

If the chain snaps, you cant just bang a split link in there.

Just carry a chain de-linker with you at all times.

Hmm, well I always run split links because there's loads of times when I need to split my chain. Eg, everytime you take your wheel out.

And mines never snapped on me and my chain is about 4 months old.

  3. Yeah man. Go for it. I have that rim and it's awesome! It's quite cheap too.

It's holds grinds great, it has amazing performance on smooth when it still has the anodized surface and by god is it strong!

I have bashed this rim ALOT, and it's still not dented. Great rim. Go for it.

  4. That used to happen to me. My hands would be really really sore, but I just bit the bullet and kept riding. Now they never get sore.

They've gotten used to it and are like... hard/ dry as fook. Lol. Don't look nice but atleast I don't get sore hands anymore. :P

  5. Ok i didn't realise you were validated. Who ever validated you well done you have won " The Biggest Tit of The Month " award.

    Same goes to you!

You had to try twice because your last account got put into pre-members for life. I still don't know why your validated now.

  6. Pads: Rock Blues.

    Time used: About 3 weeks.

    Rim used: Echo Urban.

    Grind: Yes.

    Brake used: 05 Magura

What is your opinion of a working brake: Instant bite, infinite hold and a nice loud honk.

Pads used before: Heatsink Snowies, Onza Limes, TNN CRM's.

How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Best brake i've ever had.

    Review:

Firstly, my brake set-up is an 05 maggie, 4-finger lever, 74kings TPA with a waterbleed.

I took these pads out the plastic backings when I got them and stuck them into my Heatsink CNC backings. Required a small amount of cutting but got a PERFECT fit. :)

I gave my rim a fresh grind, light-medium-ish. Set my brake up absolutely perfectely square and the pads have so much material I only just managed to set my brake up with the pistons all the way out. So I went out for a test ride.

At first, they were shockingly bad. I was just gapping about up curbs and stuff and the bite and hold was awful. But I went out for a proper ride and the brake was getting louder and louder and more bitey. After about 2 hours riding my brake was INSANE! Bitey as f**k and the hold was decent.

Now, the bite is still awesome and the hold is incredible. Pretty much never slips. Was out riding in the rain and snow, brake got a wee bit worse but hardly atall. Mainly because my grind is going dead I think. Still no signs of pad wear atall.

Absolutely LOVE these pads, always gonna buy them from nowon.

For anyone interested I got them Mikey C for £15 posted which is the cheapest you'll find them. Add him on MSN.

  7. Well, as far as front vee's go, they absolutely OWN maggies.

But i've never had expierence with a rear.

My mate has a rear one and to be honest it's pretty bad but that's without a booster and Onza Lime pads so with a good setup like the one you said Jack should be pretty mint!

Vee's have countless advantages over maggies, most have already been covered me thinks.

Despite all that though, i'm sticking with rear maggies mainly because my magura is freakin' AWESOME and I can't justify buying a whole new brake when my current one is soo good! Always front vee though. :wink2:

You will probably bump into some problems with setting up though because of really wide back rims. The arms on my mates vee are at quite an angle and sometimes his shoe gets caught. Ideally the arms are both parallel pointing up wards when the brakes fully pulled in. But for that you'd have to have like a 32mm back rim. Haha.

  8. I voted for every single one obviously.

All frames need to come with disc mounts these days. Vee absolutely not. There should be a choice between disc and magura. Not both on the same frame.

Why? I've never seen the reason for this.

I think ALL frames should have Magura and Disc mounts so the rider has the choice to change. I don't see the point in say disc only frames.

It's hardly gonna add any more weight.

Also with the Ice Version 2 with the added disc mount the price didn't go up at all either. So it's not more expensive...

    WHY do it?
