  1. I thought you were meant to cover the hole at the piston, pull in the lever, take your finger off, release the lever?!

    Ohwell

It will most probably be that you have very lazy pistons.

'Lazy Piston Definition: When one pad wont come as far back as the other, and usually rubs on the rim. '

That aint whats happening. The pads don't move out at all. No fluid is getting to the pistons.

  2. Hi again.

Today, I decided to bleed my back brake with water using the bath technique.

I tried it about 4 times and every time the pads don't push out at all.

And when I go to empty it, water comes out of the lever, but absolutely none comes out of the piston. I don't think any water is getting into the piston.

    What could be the problem?

A hole in the hose or something? There isn't anything obvious...

  3. Sound,

Can the same thing happen at:

    1) The Piston?

    2) The bit on the lever where the hose is connected to

    3) The bit on the lever that clamps onto the bars

Can any of these bits crack from overtightening?

  4. Hey guys.

The other day I decided to bleed my brake with water just after I had come in from riding. I had just been out so there waws obviously no leaks or cracks.

Once the brake was off, I tried bleeding it. It didn't work the first few times (My first ever attempt at a bleed) and then when it seemed alright, I noticed that once I had been pulling the lever a bit more air was appearing in the system. So I checked it and saw a crack in the lever. The crack is right above where the bleed screw goes in and the water leaks out of it.

I was wasn't sure how it cracked because I don't remember dropping it or anything so I am wondering... Is it possible for a lever to crack from overtightening the bleed bolt?!

That's the only explanation I can think of... Unless I hit it of something.

    Cheers in advance guys.

  5. Back on topic though.. anyone bought any new equipment?

Not any new equipment but my guitar is in for a service right now. XD

Just a basic check up, neck was a bit upbowed and the intonation was slightly out but it's all good.:)

What's your favourite sort of stuff to play on guitar?

  6. But surley if you compose your own stuff and enjoy it etc. and it isnt sucsesfull and earns you nothing and then at the same time, tour with someone massive and play there stuff along side them, your earning large sums of money doing somthing that ultimatly you find relativly easy/enjoyable, yet you can still compose your own thing, and try to get it recognised, hell you might even get better, and get better known by being the backing for these people?

Yeah, you've got a point there man.

    That would be absolutely ideal!

And if you then got recognised... Ditch your other band! :D

    Haha

  7. Yes. It's not about the money, or the crowds, or the adoration of music college geeks. It's about getting a message across. Music is communication and I don't want to be someone else's puppet. Props to you if that's what you want to do, but I would much rather play acoustic versions of my own tunes to 2 people than someone else's stuff to 20,000. Its just a pride in being what I personally think a "musician" is.

    Perfectly said. (Y)

    I couldn't agree more!

  8. Cummon...with the pickups and the flat necks you know they're only used for speed playing which is often without rhythm.

I would honestly like nothing more than to see an Ibanez played with taste and conviction, but i aint yet!

Ahh, you couldn't be more wrong my dear friend. ;)

Yes, they are designed for speed but believe me, you CAN play with 'taste and conviction'. :P
