  1. 1, Yes they do work and are worth buying, IF you have them setup right.

I have cams with teeths/notches, I wind it up as as tight as the chain can go with my hands, the chain should still be a bit loose still . I then get a pair of pliers, hold onto the cam and wind it up one more notch, this makes my chain nice and tight.

Smooth cams are ok...but in my experience they slip.

2, Any cams with 10mm holes will work. I'm assuming your hub axle are 10mm sized. I'm using teethed trialtech ones. Cams go on the outside face of the dropouts on your 221, like in this pic. Link. Simple to put on and no need to take the wheel off.

3, If not, for some reason, which I can't think of any in your case (on your 221 pr). The alternative that I almost went with is to use the 74Kingz single speed tensioner, but you need a longer chain for it to work right. But then it would look odd on a mod.

  2. A rather crappy Nun joke :)

4 nuns go to the priest and ask permission to leave the convent for one weekend, the priest agrees on the terms and conditions that if either of them commit any sins they must tell him immediately on the Monday after. So off these nuns go... On the Monday they all return and they speak to the priest. The first nun says "Father, I have commited a great sin, I ran naked down Maine Street." The priest sighs and looks up and says "It's okay my child, God will forgive you if you drink some holy water." So off the first nun goes and the forth nun starts to laugh. The second nun then approaches the priest and says "Father, I have commited a great sin, I danced in a men's bar." The priest sighs and looks up and says "It's okay my child, God will forgive you if you drink some holy water." So off the second nun goes and the forth nun is really starting to wet herself with laughter. The third nun approaches the priest and says "Father, I have commited a great sin, I slept with my sister's husband." The priest sighs and looks up and says "It's okay my child, God will forgive you if you drink some holy water." So off the third nun goes and by now the forth nun is on the floor with laughter. The priest turns to the forth nun and says "And you, what do you find so funny?!" The forth nun giggles and says "Father, I have commited a great sin, I pissed in the holy water."

    hahahaha! nuns.....

what do you call a pack of chavs?

    pakis!

  3. Hey,

The threads on one of my spoke nipples (black) has stripped, so the spoke is loose and wiggles about and makes a noise when I'm riding. I brought a pack of blue nipples and am going to replace all the ones already on my wheel.

My question is do I need to take all the nipple soff at once and replace the new nipples as if I was building a new wheel. Or, can I simply replace each one as I go along as long as I attach each nipple with the same amount of turns?

    Thanks,

    Savio

  4. Pads will wear quicker too though..

Not too sure how the pad size would affect performance.. bit confused to be honest :P

Kinda just think bigger pad = more power.

But if you press a pencil into your hand it won't press in half as much as a pin would, so I guess with a smaller pad the pressure will be increased? :S

    Confused... Probably wrong :P

But what if you think of it this way? Bigger pads means bigger surface area so more friction on the rotors, therefore a better hold on the rotors.

Jamie, did you try my mod with the mini mono on it? Next time have a try and see which you like more, if you remember how my BB5 feels. But from my opinion, the mono mini doesn't feel much better than my BB5. With a rotor with more holes I think my BB5 would have been just as good as my mini mono setup at the moment.

Next time Luke comes out ask to see if you can try his stock, he has a bb7 on the front and he finds that has more bite than his hope monos.

  5. Gorgeous!!

I have the same frame but I'm going after a black/blue colour scheme.

By any chance are you selling that blue bar when you get a red one? I want blue bars to go with my typhoon!
