  1. I had an early prototype of the Ascend on my bike for around 6 months of winter abuse on a hardtail. I was nothing but impressed with it and so were the other guys who had one too. I've my own shop now and won't hesitate to sell one to any of my customers.

  2. Real nice shots, also a very small world. I see Kyle Dunn in one of your pics.

Great shots, makes me think of the kind of terrain that would be in star wars.

I've been in whistler a few weeks now, not been using the camera a whole lot, mainly cause I'm too busy riding or because I feel outdone by others and their more capable cameras. I seem to be the one coming up with the ideas for shots and then I seem to either be being copied or outdone by the better capabilities of their cameras, anyone else had that before?

Anyway here's a few of mine so far.

EDIT: I'm hoping to get a banging deal on a 5d mk iii when I visit Vancouver in a few weeks time :)

  3. From day to day I see more and more riders locations from Northern Ireland on these forums and would love to get a ride where everyone gets together. I know of a few riders localish to me in Belfast but I am willing to travel within reason for a good get together ride with plenty of stuff to do.

So get in here with a show of hands and an idea of some locations. There is some stuff to do in Belfast but I'm sure there is a few hidden gems further afield some of you might know about.

Dates can be sorted out once there is a foundation of people to get it going.

  4. Shin pads are not restrictive, man up in that regard! I have busted my shins to shit over the years and recently got myself some 661's. They're not the most breathable things ever but they do thier job and I can't say I even notice them when they're on.

  5. Fantastic video Ben, great seeing the local sites in it. I only just got the small wall to the right of that tap at the waterfront last night. Me and neil were looking at that massive one in awe!

Did the clip out beside the water not turn out? Would love to have seen that.

  6. Yeah, that is true. Notice that the guy in the video was the managing director though, the owner was nowhere to be seen...

An interesting watch anyway, strange to think that we were up against them in the BikeBiz awards the last 2 years

Funny thing is that George Watson the owner will be found most days in the wheelroom building wheels as he has done from the start. The reigns have been passed more to his son Chris but he still has a very active part in the business. Its what he enjoys.

Ross, look forward to meeting you and Ben tomorrow if your up at CRC

  7. Any good bike shop will have the necessary tools to chase the thread, phone about and ask. In my experiance park tools offering cuts the deepest and more suited to bringing back damaged threads than any other I've used so if you can find a shop with one of those your onto a winner.

  8. Just finished building this to get me back into trials. Mixture of old and new bits.

Frame is a proto Atomz Quark

    Echo Pure Forks

    Tensile Cranks

    Rear Chris King Discgotech

Front sun dirty flea on eq29

Minions all round, dual ply rear single front

    Front hope mono trial team

Rear hs33 with TNN LGM's (water bleed)

    Wellgo MG1's

Weight 10.48kg (on park tool scales)

Rides real good on static stuff, taking a bit of learing on the rolling moves since my last 3 bikes were mods. Real light considering there wasn't any attempt to save weight and plenty of grams could be shaved off in the future.
