  1. I have a pair of 165mm Try All ISIS cranks and i was wandering whether any one has ever ran a bashring on these cranks?

I know on tarty is says you shouldn't but can i get away with it? :shifty:

The bashring i will use is the Neon Light Bashring.

    Thanks, Jack

Tarty's know their stuff, i'd listen to them when they say you shouldn't.

  2. just been having a look aroud tarty to see how much a 24" would cost built custom, but they only sell 20" and 26" stems, which would be better on a 24 ? cheers

I use 90mmx10* with trial tech high rise bars, feel great

  3. Allo guys how do?

I'm in the process of ordering a Marino frame and he's asked to transfer the money either by Western Union or Interbank. What has everyone else used? I've heard good and bad things about both and don't know who to trust more? Why can't the whole world use Paypal?

    Oli

    i used xoom. was fine.

  4. Im new to hydrolic discs... so...

Heres the lever iv got already gallery_2010_169_22729.jpg

But i need a right hand lever, will this body work? chain reaction link

Also bleeding kit needed to change? iv always jus drown the hs33 lever in water to bleed (so unsure bout this hope one).. oh and i know its oil.

    cheers

Give hope a ring. They won't be able to supply you with anything (unless it's via your local stockists) but they will answer any technical questions quite happily.

  5. Cheers, so what you thinking on the rest of the bike cant be much over 60 quid? the rest of the parts are quite small but there is alot of them...

Wouldn't have thought so. bare in mind anything other than black or white will cost more though

  6. Hey just wondering as I've come into some money, how much is a full bike spray of powder coating? and what's the weight like on one, I'm not exactly a weight weenie but my bike already weigh's around 14.7kg, so dont really need anymore weight... and looking for some opinions on this --> thinking frame matte white, forks matte black, and so on, opposing colours every time one part meets the other, what you guys think? dont care if the colour scheme is common...

And if possible where are the reputable P/C companys and are there any near to Oxford? much appreciated

Got my frame powder coated in white for 30 pounds. did a really good job too. shouldn't think it weighs much to be fair.

  7. It's the way the steel wire braiding that makes up the outer is arranged, either linearly, so it runs along the length of the cable and provides less resistance and is prone to less crimping and pinching the inner or standard.

    Sound, thanks

so it's a good idea to use a bmx cable?

  8. Yeah that should be fine. You can get a few mm more with some vee adapters also. It's best to use the shortest cable you can if not using a linear, you will reduce the sponge that way.

    Thanks

What's the difference between a linear cable and a normal cable? linear pre stretched?

    Thanks

    Adam

  9. I drilled my top tube and routed my cable internally for the smoothest possible route from lever to noodle. It made the lever action super smooth. Here's a pic of the routing, I'm running a magura now but you get the idea.

    kk, thanks.

One more questin before i go and buy a lot of kit. My brake mount spacing is 90mm and my rear rim 30mm will i be able to install a v setup on the rear?

    Thanks

    adam

  10. I agree at the moment my cable has a sharp bend in it as it runs down the frame where it leavs and goes to the back brake and when i brake i feal the cable rubbing. Its not ideal but i put up with it.

But what you could use are some cable guides ive never used them so dont no how good they are but here is a link to them.

    http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=10896&category_id=5

Recon i could see a photo of how the v brake cabling runs down to the brake> I'm a bit confused as my bmx had a specific guide at the end

    Thanks
