  1. haha I have really fat feet that's why i wear DC's they're the only ones that fit me. :P Shoes these days are made for anorexic people!!!

Same here, tried some nikes on the other day far too slim. Had DCs for about 4 years now (not the same Pair though!)

  2. Fly?

Am i out of date, or has a BMX company started producing trials frames/parts?

Looks tasty though. Their BMX's are really nice and indestructable, will be interesting to see how these develop!

I agree, used to ride a fly tierra before switching to trials. Didn't know they'd started making trials stuff either

  3. I personally think DC's are the best!!! You can wear them just casually as well as on your bike! They are a bit more expensive than £30 but you can get them off ebay for cheaper!!

Damn good shoes. Made for sport and last ages if you take care of them

  4. The Nuke proof forks look pretty good, although you can easily get alu forks at the same weight, and they are far too long for any trials frame anyway! (suspension corrected geo)

Was gonna say, not much weight difference at all. Wouldn't they be brittle any way?

  5. Oh ok maybe they just had a bad week or something ill order from them then (Y)

Ordered some and they did come, took a while though. He was ill apparently so i forgive him! Worth the wait any way. Heatsink yellows with cnc on smooth rims great, cheaper than phat pads too. He should be getting orders out straight away now, just send him an email.

  6. Dam, that aint what I wanted to hear (N) I was thinking that if I were to use an air compressor and pump into while blocking the other hole would it not pop out?

You wouldn't be able to put enough pressure in with out blowing air out around your finger

  7. I am currently in the process of replacing all the seals in my hope but can't get the piston out that is on the side opposite to the bore cap.

Anyone got some handy tips for getting them out?

Yup, put them back together, rebleed, then pull the lever while not letting the piston on the bore cap side move. I use a tyre lever to stop it. Keep pumping and it should pop it self out. Make sense? I did the same thing. Took the caliper apart with out taking the right piston out first.

  8. My pads and backings turned up today but have had to order phat pads and backings in the mean time so am waiting for them too. Which are better anybody have any opinions? one set are going to have to be returned. I prefer the look of the phat pads but haven't got them in my hands yet. have the yellow heatsinks with the alu backings here now. I'm gonna return one set, not sure which so input would be helpful.

    Thanks

  9. Hi, Just wondering if everyone that has ordered from HSB lately have had their parts within 2 days? I ordered a Cloud 9 bash today and Im hoping to be riding at the weekend.

    Thanks

    Sam

Think he's managed to clear a back log. He sent me notice of dispatch yesterday, but haven't received them yet. Mind you i ordered over two weeks ago. Keep those fingers crossed!

  10. Bought some forks from somebody on these forums. Trouble is the star nut they used is the wrong size for the steerer tube and has jammed in, and to make matters worse they've sheered off the bolt in the starnut. I've tried knocking the starnut through but being too big it's just wedged it. Any idea of getting it out? I asked in halfords if they'd drill it out for me, but they can't do it because of the sheered bolt. any idea? I don't need it out at the moment, but if i want to trim the steerer tube in the future (am running 30mm of spacers currently) i can't just put another starnut in on top as it's not wedged far enough down the tube. Make sense?

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Finally go the busted starnut out. had to stick my finger into the forks and turn the broken tool out with my finger. Then bash the shit out of the starnut. Matt Gibson you're a lucky man!

Thanks for the forks though, pleased with them.

  11. Thanks for that (Y) I think i'll order some tonight then. Do I need a bore cap tool to fit someseals though? Or any special tools?

You'll need the bore cap tool tool for the brake, should be listed in the guide. You'll need some ISA (somesort of cleaning alcohol, is listed in the guide) i'd advise using it instead of white spirit (which isn't, i used ISA).

    Thanks

    You'll need some ISA

I ordered mine online, cheap and arrived the next day. Couldn't find it in B&Q though.

  12. Here's a guide -> http://steveukmtb.wordpress.com/hope-calip...nitrialsm4v2m6/

It's really simple just read through a few times first. Chain reaction stock the seals kit you'll need. Be carefully to keep your rotor well away from you while you're working on the caliper though!

On the same page, there's a link to bleeding a hope break. Just do that a few times to flush out any old hydraulic fluid, some times it turns to jelly.

    Hope that helps.

  13. 30mm in terms of stem stackers is quite a lot. That will change the effective stem angle, and to some extent the length, a considerable amount. Unless you put them on top that is.

Bearing in mind it's 24". Was thinking it's a fait bit.

  14. Right, i had no luck getting the mangled starnut (if you've read my previous topic you'll know what i'm taking about) out of my forks and can't trim the steerertube. I have to ride 30mm of stem stackers (spacers) does this matter too much? riding an Onza Zoot with trialtech stem (120mm x 17*) monty bars and viz forks.

    Thanks

It's not gonna budge hitting it, I'll have to get it drilled or leave it there. Thanks though

  16. Hay people, returned to trials after a two/three year gap and have been getting mid back pain. Id get bad back trouble when i used to ride and it was always present and bloody annoying. Not serious pain, but enough of a twinge to make me not go for big ups or gaps.

The pain is middle back and on my left side(spine to the side of my ribs), i ride with my right foot forward. I have been doing lower back exercises to try stamp it out but it's still there when i ride. Anybody got any good advice that might help get rid of it because i hate holding back when im riding in fear of injury.

I stretch and do about half an hour of back exercises before i go on any ride because this is the only thing that ever stopped it getting worse. All advice and help welcome please!

    Cheers!

    Kev

My dad has a bad back, trunk curls should help.
