  3. When I was using my T-pro I had this problem, the chain was too long, took out a link and then it was too short. Snail cams weren't big enough so I just popped to Halfords n bought some cheapy rubbish chain tugs which did the job perfectly.

  8. Oh good lol, I think it will be alright, it's not on the chainside, so it can't touch the freewheel, and it is definately not budging, most of it is in so I think it will hold out. Also does anyone know the geo of that koxx..?
  9. Yeah, that's what I've been using, it's not budging, either way. It's not rounded the thread because it was screwing in perfectly... then just stopped

  11. Hey guys, Just got new frame... from 'the organiser' cheers mate, perfect Koxx levelboss 20" Was wondering what the geo of it is...? Also.. have fitted new bb to it.. but the left cup has only gone 3/4 of the way in... and is not budging, is this a problem? Pics of the frame and the cups below... cheers guys Alex
  12. Plus, if you do have too much slack in the chain, and you kick down too hard, it may snap the chain and a not too pleasant outcome...
  13. I don't see why everyone makes such a fuss about being validated, I'm on here pretty much everyday, just having a browse, reading all the topics and watching all the videos, if I have a question I'll put it in the NMC area and it will get answered. The only thing I can't do that I'd like to is reply in the For Sale section, but it's not the end of the world and one day when I see a topic that I feel I can help with I'll write a few good replies and get validated, until then I'll keep doing what I'm doing and not making a fuss. By making yet another "Why haven't I been validated" topic you're just annoying everyone in the NMC that has got genuine questions to ask or points to make.
  14. Does the lever bite where you would like it to? Or pull to the bar? If it bites where it should then you will need a new pad/rim combo, if not, then there is still air in the system.
  15. Is the lever pulling to the bar or feel spongy - Could have air in the system still and will have to do a re-bleed/bath. Could have wrong pads to rim combo, i.e if the lever pulls to where it is supposed to but the brake won't lock then maybe need new pads/grind/tar/brake spray. Other than that I can't suggest anything else...
  16. I don't think so because you would have to get all of the oil out of the lever as well to have a completely fresh bleed.
  17. This happened to me... Re-do the bleed in the bath, but keep it completely under the water, and pull the lever over and over and over, covering one hole, and then the other and vice versa until there is no more bubbles coming out. Not even little bubbles, none at all. Then do the bolts back up underwater. To test if it is working without putting it back on the bike (which I failed to do hence having to keep putting brake on bike... Then take it off a few times over) I put the pads in the slaves and then held them together and pulled the lever, if the lever did not feel firm the there was still air in the brake so repeated the process. Eventually worked, but I'm sure the more you do it the easier it gets.
  18. Cheers guys, it's all done, works a treat, just put it in the bath, emptied out all the old oil, then filled bath back up and filled it with water. Thanks for the help! I'm not going to be bleeding it every 2-3 weeks though, had my old water bleed in my little old Aorta for over 6 months that I had it and it was fine... JamesMilburn Posted Jul 18 2009, 10:57 PM Yes all you need is a bit of pipe a container and also the a syringe. It works good with discs dont see why it wont work with your Maggies. James I know how to bleed a brake with the kit, the post was asking how I could do it without, so I didn't have a syringe or anything else available...
  19. I've run Creepys on my starter bike, but then when I felt like I was progressing and changing parts I swapped for a Try-all and have definately felt the difference. Sure, it doesn't last as long, but i find that it has so much more grip and feel to it.
  20. Thank you very much, will try it today! cheers alex
  21. Hey guys, I need to get the oil out of my magura, and water in it... without a bleed kit, is this possible? I checked the wiki section and that says about bleeding it with water, when its already empty, but how do i get the oil out with no bleed kit....? cheers
  22. Try replacing cigarettes with something else, like food... Everytime you find yourself craving.. have some munch.
  23. No No No, he can't be banned... Then we won't get GENIUS topics like this one...
  24. Thank you, i read that earlier, but itdoesn't say how to get the old oil out, without using a bleed kit... Should i just hold it underwater and pull the lever with my finger over the other hole?
  25. How do you do a bath bleed? I have oil in my brake at the moment, but want water like an old one i used to use, i do not have a bleed kit though...
