  4. You can always tell alloy from steel by the weight, the lighter sprocket will be the alloy one
  5. Drilling your rims is probably on of the greatest risks you can take with your wheels, unless you have wide, undrilled rims I wouldn't recommend it. If, however, you do drill your rims only drill small holes evenly spaced between the spokes. On the subject of rim grinds, any rim can be ground as long as it accepts a rim brake. If you decide to grind your rim you'll also need to upgrade your brake pads, personally I use TNN LGM's and heatsink blue's. It's all personal preference and you will work out what feels best for you in time
  6. Five 10's are the leading shoe brand when it come to trials/street, even Danny macaskill uses them. They dont do women's styles but the five 10 freeriders would probably look quite smart. As for protection I would highly recommend 661 race braces, £15 each on Tartybikes.co.uk
  7. Any suggestions for a good set of Isis cranks? Preferably less than £60
  8. A nice sharp light/medium grind will help alot and some heatsink or TNN pads will make it a million times better
  9. shwalbe big betty rear and continental mountain king front
  10. if you're looking for a decent booster try selectbikes.com. they sell everything to do with trials and are a bit cheaper than tartybikes aswell.
  11. is there anyone who can tell me what the onza rip is like to ride and wether or not it is worth buying
  12. it depends on what brakes you want and what kind of riding you're going to be doing. it also depends on what bike you ride normally. if you ride a mountain bike you will be better of with a stock, but if you ride a bmx you will be better off with a mod
  13. what could anyone recommend for an all-round/day-to-day use mod
  14. i've been told that i should get a stock because i come from a mtb background, but i am considering getting a mod. i've checked my local bike store that stock mods and they feel a little bit small for my liking, but i am used to a 26" hardtail
  15. sounds good and it looks in great condition in the pic. will have to think about it. i'll probably go for something similar, not sure yet. will search ebay and see if theres anything i like there. thanks for lettin me know
  16. i'm looking to spend roughly £300 at the most and will be looking for something i can use as an all rounder and for day-to-day use
  17. at the moment im using a bike that i borrow of my mate, but i am looking to get a second-hand bike so i can practice/ride without having to make sure he's not using it.
  18. i've been riding for about a month now and i'm thinking of getting a second-hand stock, but i'm not sure what i should go for seeing as i'm new to trials. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  19. i'm riding a stock at the moment. i've tried riding a mod and they seem too unstable when you're hopping and they feel too much like a bmx.
  20. the tekiya is quite a heavy bike. i'd personally go for a second-hand self- built bike like an echo or an onza. hope thats helped you decide what to get
  21. Hi i'm chris, I'm new to trials and am being taught how to ride by my mate phil. I've been riding for about a month now and am really improving. At the moment i'm using an onza limey 3 that i borrow off my mate. I also ride XC and AM. My other hobbies include bouldering, free-running and the occasional fishing trip. I'm hoping to get my own bike soon hopefully something like an onza limey or an echo. thanks for listening to me rant on. chris.
