  1. The crabs was going to be done but seeing as though I have to work with him, it will probably back fire haha. Decided on sending her husband a valentines card ( she left a returns package sent to her address in the reception so I've got her address ) and I'm sending his 80 year old mother a dildo wrapped up with ribbon and a pack of battery's. :P

  2. So the tow truck going to rescue my car today broke down too. Fantastic.

When I get the car back, I need to put some elbow grease in - can someone recommend some good polish / clay bars that aren't too pricey?

I'm not that familiar with the cleaning process when it comes to messy paintwork, I would assume a clay bar, then polish and then wax to finish?

A meg's kit from Halfrauds isn't bad! Comes with 2 bars of clay, some polish/wax and a micro fibre and quick detailer. Thorough wash, clay bar to remove 'contaminants', polish, then seal it all in with a good quality wax. If your on a budget or just not wanting to spend a grand on wax, Poorboys Natty blue wax is really good. I've found it easy on and off and lasts for a good while. It might be worth looking into tar remover as well mate.

  3. Right..

Last year, a guy from work and the receptionist joined together and sent a card to my home address. It was pretty obvious that it was them, in fact I'm 100% its them because i overheard them talking about it when they did it last year :P I didn't tell them that i knew and i acted really frustrated at work, which really made them laugh, obviously!

Now i want to do something to them this year, without it being obviously me. Being totally unoriginal and out of decent ideas, I've turned to Trials Forum's advice :w00t:

I was thinking of buying them both a nice box of laxative chocolates or maybe something with viagra in it, but if i do this at work and they end up going home, it probably wouldn't go down well.

What have you guys done / thought of that i can do?

    Sam ;)

  4. I'm 21 and still have no clue what I want. My problem is I change my mind every 5minutes, I can't sit still and I lose interest in things quickly.

I'd love to do a mechanics course and pursue a career but my only option is an apprenticeship and I can't afford to live on that

Don't always assume that because your an apprentice, you'll get apprentice wages. Im on my 2nd, coming to 3rd year of being an apprentice and am on a really good wage. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything but just thought I'd let you know! In my course ( Motor vehicle ) there is only 1 lad who's on minimum, and he's a wet blanket :P

  5. Considering the stuff we see come into our place thats half decent Jake! I'd considering seam sealing it, and if thats a hole where the welder has burnt through cover that. Then look up Shutz. Its a wax oil to prevent any rust reoccurring again

  6. Not at all. Everyone has a right to choose, it just annoys me when people try and push their beliefs on others, much like when meat eaters try to convince vegans/ vegetarians that they should eat meat. A lot of my friends are vegetarians but it never comes up in discussion as we respect each other's choices and get on with.

That was aimed towards to second guy i quoted, should of said sorry! I have the same opinion as you :)

  7. If that's your thing good on you, as long as you don't try and force people to make the same choice. I can't stand vegans that have to tell everyone all the time.

That's a bit weird. I wouldn't eat spicey stuff to make myself sick, I just like curries and stuff so put up with the sickness.

really really not trying to start anything here (Y), honestly!, just a bit un-comfortable with how many people liked your post lol... it seems every meat eater has to take a stab at every non meat-eater?? or is that some kind of personal vendetta with you and dave??

anyway, I'm vegetarian and have been for about 10 years, currently trying to switch to a vegan diet but it's soooo hard with all the crap food in every shop you go into on this rotting planet! and its been extra hard for me to quit milk, cheese and eggs living in what is essentially a small farming/fishing town lol!

there's not a lot of choice out there, so for the past 2 months, all i have eaten is vegetable curry's, veg stew's, porridge with almond milk or soya milk (delicious) and i have 4 large fruit or veg smoothies every day(even more delicious), takes like 3 minutes to prepare every meal which is awesome

but if you find dave's diet strange, and obviously my diet is strange to you also, you have to consider something else's rib cage on your plate.... a little bit strange atleast?? or any other sliced up dead animal for that matter lol??

please read all that in a discussive way, not in an argumentative way lol!

I know your not arguing, but it's like your trying to convince us eating dead animals is "a little bit strange"

  8. Finally got my dash cam in the house to see what the footage looks like Youtube has raped the quality, looks amazing on my screen in 1080p! Also thought i'd properly show the rain repellent working, should last another 11 months yay! Not having to use the wipers is incrediballs.

Got absolutely no idea why there is 10 secondsish between the first and the second clip :S

  9. Look epic mr T!!

One massive piece of advice I can give to you and wish I would have known it from the start is to chuck your aerosol in a bucket of hot water for 10 mins prior to spraying, it increases the pressure of the propellant inside the can and makes the paint come out sooooo much better / uniform in thickness and completely prevents spluttering! You might already be doing that though but just incase it proper helped me :)

Took your advice here Dan, 10 minutes in boiling water, and then heated with a hair dryer and it went on so much better with little to no splatter! Thanks :D

Arb is looking good. Noticeable difference straight away from the first drive?

  10. I wouldn't bother going any further then 600grit to be honest with you, by hand it's more then sufficient and the gains are so tiny. Look good thou man.

Edit, just re-read your post. If your wet and drying between coats don't after your final base of silver. Sanding a metallic cuts the 'fleck' in the metallic so you get all sorts of weird sparkles. If your confident enough and at a ideal working temperature once your primer work is finished apply your first base of silver, leave 20ish minutes, 2nd coat of silver. Apply a 3rd if required then start with your clear coat repeating the same pattern up to 2/3 coats. Job jobbed, time halved :P

Yeah i did start to think to myself about no seeing any gains past 600grit. Didn't know that about the wet drying when doing the silver. I'm not sure if its my technique or the can but i found the rattle can spitting quite a lot, which left the freshly painted surface quite rough? Will keep that in mind doing the others! Thanks :)

  11. Decided to refurbish my wheels seeing as though they're off for winter. They all have a bit of curb rash and one has/ had a chunk missing from inside the dish. Anyway ill let the photos do the talking. I really enjoyed doing it and am happy with the results seeing as though its my first time

Gave the wheel a full wash to remove any previous wax/ sealant that i'd put on using a multi purpose degreaser.
Iron X pulling out any other contaminants i missed:

Sanding the curb rash flat ready for filler

    post-23842-0-15068400-1388775625_thumb.j

Bought Metalik from Halfrauds, which is a filler with iron particles in it. 'Its like replacing metal with metal"

When on really easy and is not to bad to sand down

Some advice, dont do it in your room like i did, its really messy and has quite a strong scent :P

Started with 120 wet and dry and ended up with 1200 using all in between. Keyed the old paint ready for primer.

Forgot to take photos of putting the primer on.. Put 3 coats on wet and drying in between coats

Applied around 4 coats of paint, again wet and drying between coats

  12. Been working at a small independent garage for nearly 3 years. My mums car had a new engine put in there and she recommended ringing up and asking for some experience to see if i liked it. I rang them up and luckily at the time their other apprentice was on holiday which meant i could work whilst he's off. Did a week there and really enjoyed it, then the boss said i better stay. Started off on a really basic wage, now ive got an apprenticeship and am just of £10 an hour which im really happy with! It gets a bit repetitive doing PDI inspection on near new cars when there's nothing wrong with them, but then it has its more interesting jobs like doing cambelts ect.

So far loving it, and hoping to do my MOT licence when im qualified next year :)

  13. My dads recently moved into a listed building up in the middle of nowhere. There's a big manor house - im guessing these houses where for the workers. So far, there's been two new next door neighbours to the house attached that have left because of weird things happening. Both couples and one family so far left because of things moving. The house is very cold and dark which makes it really eery at night. Every time i stay there you can can really loud noises of stuff being moved around at night. Christmas evening we all left the bowls that we had ice cream in on the table and i could hear the spoon in them being hit. They where in a completely different formation on the table as well. Weirdddd
