Hi all,
Right this is a project that I have wanted to do for a while and it has been forming in my mind for a good while now.
I want to create a biographical video of the most Excellent Trials Riders in the UK at the moment. The format borrows from the 16th century art historian Vasari's methods of a biographical model presenting artists skills in the Renaissance. But where he had artist, I have riders. And where he had a pen and paper, I have a DVX100B video camera
Generally the idea is to document the lives of riders; short interviews, riding at their familiar local spots/ the spots that are important to them and where they train etc... I don't want the video to become a spectacle (it seems trials videos are going that way more and more these days). I know a lot of the time when I used to ride I would be alone, riding for hours and hours, pretty content in one place maneuvering my way through the landscape, whether urban or natural just for the fun of it. This is the kind of stuff I want to capture, that evolving interaction between riders and environment.
But anyway, if anyone could suggest riders about at the moment who are indeed miraculous in the art of trials then please suggest away bellow. What riders should be a priority? Even better if you are a miraculous rider and are interested in being a part of this project then please contact me, possibly even send me a video to show me your skills.
I should mention that I don't intend to make any profit off this video in any way, shape or form. My motivation just comes from the love of the sport. However if anyone can suggest any ways of getting funding that would be great as there will be a lot of driving around involved, video tapes used and missed days of work.
I want to get filming underway after the 5th of May....
Thanks and hope to here from you most Excellent Trials Riders!
Kevin
