Been a while since I have really done much photography, really been concentrating alot on my filmmaking. The shots of the downhillers were taken a couple of months ago in Llangollen at the BDS, and I never bothered to put them on here so I thought I might as well do it now
And these two were taken last week, both HDRs compromising of 9 different shots!

Wish I could have gone, looked too good despite the rain! Was looking forward to a full length edit from you, what made you decide to make a short one?
Brilliant filming from you as always though.
Cheers Jake, shame you couldn't make it I just didn't feel very enthused about making one at the time, but now I really wish I did because it was an awesome weekend. Still I got to ride alot more than Radfest which was cool.
Somewhat related, these were filmed on the monday after Tartydays. Again I had wanted to make an edit but just couldn't summon the effort I was knackered too which meant my riding suffered, but oh well.

Nice one! Thanks dude. Was great to see so many people getting stuck in despite the rain on Saturday
What can I say Adam. I really admire what you have done for the trials community over the years, this event was exceptional, I had a fabulous time and was saddened that you guys had left before I could say goodbye and thank you. Thank you for such an amazing weekend
Lovely footage lewis. As always, a pleasure to ride with. One of the nicest lads in the sport.
Cheers Jack, feel exactly the same way about you Really enjoy riding with you, take care dude x
I never got to see Ali's qualifying times - only the crashes in the final. Really glad you filmed that - heinously quick!
Yeah Flipp, really was insane to watch Ali doing the brakeless challenge, I too am glad I got it on video

I chose not to make a full video of TartyDays, but had filmed these clips prior to making that decision. Still some great riding in there, just don't expect a full video because this is all I had. Thanks again to mick and maria for letting everyone use Radical Bikes, and to Tartybikes for their incredible organisation of the event, as well as everyone else involved of course
Getting to see Ali C, Danny Mac and Dani Comas ride was incredible, my favourite moment of the weekend was Danny Mac throwing freebies to distract the kids squirting him on the balance beam section of the eliminator trial

I have ridden both, and have been impressed with both tyres. However, in my experience, I think that the Monty's are even better than the Try-Alls, the grip is better, the weight is less, the bounce is better and from my experience, the puncture resistance is on par or better.
Only downside is the fact the Montys wear a lot faster, and that they cost more.
If you can afford them again, go with Monty

Cool video Brad, I really enjoy watching your riding now, you have progressed loads on that stock! You going to Tartydays?
-
Was really looking forward to see you to, aswell as a lot of other riders on here. Well well, I'll be there next year
Will you be at Tartydays?
Can't stop watching it. Next year can't come quick enough!
Haha thats awesome, but yeah sad to think its another year off

Lewis - forgot to mention - more than welcome to carry out any filming you wish, of course
Okay great Will get my dad to get some tickets sorted this week hopefully

Awesome, and awesome

Extra info for anyone interested...
Adam, are there any plans for somebody to make an 'official' video of the event?

Your really really really good with the camera Lewis! Really like this video. A lot of effort has been put into this
Such a shame that I couldn't come to radfest this year, but I WILL be there next year!
Thanks Will, appreciate it! I was really looking forward to seeing you at Radfest, and was disappointed that you couldn't go

Very nicely shot and put together Lewis. Is this your L lens?
Thank you Max! Yes, mostly the 17-40. Most B-roll clips of the tents were filmed with my 70-300 Tamron and those clips were shot in Magic Lantern raw, something which I was very happy with at the outcome, even though the workflow was difficult Also used a 50mm for some clips

Cheers for all the awesome comments guys! Really enjoyed making this one and I am proud of the outcome
And yes Dan, that was me haha Probably didnt recognise me because I look so different when I have helmet hair, I tend to always push my hair back off my face lol I didn't see very much of you to be honest, but I should have spoken to you more
Once again thanks so much everyone. Almost at 1,000 views which I am really happy about (sad I suppose).

Hi guys,
Here is my video of this year's RadFest. A massive thanks to Jack Meek, Mick Mitchell and everybody else involved in the running of the event, without you guys it wouldn't have happened! Also a huge thanks to Adam and Stan for sticking it out the whole weekend offering free bike tweaking and maintenance, which was a huge help to a lot of the riders, myself included. Thanks to all the stands for offering their awesome products (cheers Steve @ Heatsink for the two sets of Cousts!).
Without further ado, here is the video, hope you guys enjoy

Its been a while since I updated this thread, but I just got a new set of Monty Pro Race tyres and a few other bits ready for Radfest this weekend, so thought I might as well get some photos up!
-
Excellent video dude!!
Having ridden dh for years I know how hard it can be to capture it properly but I think you've nailed it to be fair!!
Hope to see more from you
James
Thanks so much James!
Yeah I did worry that the video was gonna turn out rubbish about half an hour into editing it, but I made sure I got plenty of B-roll to keep it interesting I wanna go along to watch/film a downhill event that is coming up in Antur Stiniog, so keep an eye out, will most likely post it on here if I do go

Cheers!
The purpose of doing multiple shots like this is that often when taking a single photo your camera will be unable to capture the brightest or darkest parts of the scene correctly, leaving you with an image where the sky is blown out or the foreground way underexposed. By taking a series of images at different exposures, you are able to capture a wider dynamic range. HDR images can also allow you to create a 16 or even 32bit file which gives you tonnes of colour detail and latitude
Here is an example of what I would have ended up with had I have just taken one shot (The sky was very much brighter than the land when I was shooting these).
It sounds fairly techy and what not but its not really, and the results are definitely worth it.
Hope that helped
