  1. I'm gonna get Nikon to check mine out because I've tried it on various shutter speeds, apertures, ISO's and with two or three different lenses.

Definitely something not right, all the settings are default other than changed to RAW. Will test to see if JPEG's come out any different before I ask Nikon to look, I'll report back...

Can you post a raw photo (converted to Jpeg obviously) to show us what you're experiencing? Just curious to see :) Hopefully you'll have it fixed soon :)

  2. Awesome video, pity you cut out almost 2 minutes of Imperium though, particularly as 4:00 -5:30 is one of my favourite parts of the song :P

Haha thanks a lot and yeah its a shame, but I felt that the video was getting repetitive and that I needed to cut some of the song out :D Hopefully non listeners are unable to tell though :P

  3. Lucky this didn't happen to you... I noticed you were filming on exactly the same spot as this photographer was.

Nice edit man, loved the music.

Yeah I was there when it happened, you can see me taking photos at the side of the jump at 28 seconds wearing black ;) It was nasty, looked worse in real life though for sure! Thanks mate ;)

  4. Cheers guys, appreciate it as always! I wanted to pick a song that was different to the usual pop or electronic garbage that graces most of todays mountain bike videos, but I can understand that Machine Head isn't your thing (although I love them :P ).

Andrew - I am gonna take my camera gear to Barrow later this month and hopefully I will shoot enough footage at Radfest to compile a decent length video!

  5. Hi everyone,

Here's a video I filmed this weekend at the British Downhill Series in Llangollen. The track was ridiculously steep and made for a real challenge for both the riders and spectators! Please bear in mind that I am only a 17 year old video making enthusiast and not a professional by any means so try not to be too harsh on me :P

  6. It's a sony handycam HDR-CX130

Okay, according to this site: http://www.digitaltrends.com/camcorder-reviews/sony-hdr-cx130-review your camera can record in 1080 60 progressive.

"Also this camcorder captures 1080/60p video. In order to engage it, you have to adjust the frame rate in the menu system—it’s not under HD/SD quality which you would think would be the logical spot."

So I would guess that the footage you have is in fact progressive. However, I have had a look at how you can change the frame rate of your project in Ulead on Google but have had no luck.

Someone with some knowledge wanna step in? :P

  7. If this was aluminium or some other metal or alloy, I'm pretty sure you would have just accepted it, so why can't people accept that carbon must snap at some point? Just my thoughts, not hating :) Anyway that does suck Iain, are you gonna buy carbon bars again? :)

  8. I've found a converter that makes the files into AVI files, then editor seems to handle these better. I don't know if they are interlaced or progressive?

I couldn't get my editor (ulead video studio) to be set for 50 fps files, I can see an option in the preferences but when I select it it doesn't have any other options only 25 fps. I should probably get a better editor but this has always been ok with 25 fps files.

What camera have you got? We might be able to tell you if its progressive or interlaced :)

  9. What Rebelistic needs to is change his composition settings to match that of what he used when he filmed the clips, in this case the frame rate of the comp needs to be changed from 25fps (this is why its half speed because 50/25=2) to 50fps ;)

  10. what A Beauty. Perfect shot Lewis!

Thanks so much Max! Appreciate it :)

That's ace! How far was the fly from the camera and how did you pursuade him to land there, and stay long enough to get a shot that sweet? Im clueless on photogrpahy so this may be obvious to others.

Cheers dude ;) The fly was about 2cm from the front of the lens. I knew that if I waited around by some flowers that are in the garden then eventually insects will arrive. Sure enough after literally just a couple of minutes this little dude popped up and was really co-operative, he started off just looking to the right of the camera but then as I got closer in he looked directly into the lens, most likely in sheer puzzlement :D

  11. I have just captured this photo about 30 minutes ago, and as you can imagine I am rather pleased :D Best of all, I didn't even use a dedicated macro lens or extension tubes! Went for the classic double lens trick where one lens is reversed if anyone's curious ;)

  12. Yeah i have the top ones, They don't work with 5mm bashrings but the try all http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/bash_rings/tryall_symetrik_2012_drilled/c1p11911.html works as it's 3mm I made my Trial Tech one a bit thinner and had plenty of threads then :) but these crank feel really flexy i wouldn't recommend then

Your Best bet would be these http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/cranks_pair/trialtech_sl_forged_isis/c514p12111.html

    hope this helps

    Jamie

Ahh nice one ;) Had a feeling I was gonna look like a turd for a second :D
