i never noticed it untill i took it of and then it was even worse when i took it of the crank arm my threads are ok but now it exsplanes why i had a tight spot, i deffinitly wont be using it again. its in the bin. only parts i have left are 7 pawls 7 spings and all the bearings also the shims
-
i got it of today, two pawls were snapped in half and the small crack in the first set of pictures was nothing, it ran right the way round inner case, got a second hand one ariving tomorrow hopfully. Going to take it apart clean it out and re-assemble it All sorted

looking closer at mt freewheel the casing has cracked not sure how long its been like that. buying a second had one, getting the best bits of both hopfully to make a good one
-
haha, is it worth buying another one

looking at the trialtech sport 108 are they any good, afew people on the tartys feed back said they skip abit.
-

-

I was out riding to day and my echo sl locked up and wouldnt coast, i thought that was the end of its life having it for 2 years now but it freed it self up when i was pushing it home. I would take a look inside but with the lockring being on the bashring side i can take a look, also dont have a sturdy vice to hand to take it of. Took my crank arm of and sounds ok but is very sloppy, slow to engage. So is it time for a new freewheel or can i salvage it with new inside pawls, springs, bearings So ive found and bought two second hand sl's lots of spears one just needs a clean out and pawl replace which i have, so i am just blasting the thing with gt 85 drying it all with a soft cloth then re-assembling with a small amount of grease on the bearings but i was told not to as it would make it skip. is the true or is it ok

at the moment i have two tight spots, due to my hub and crank arms not having centerd threads it really crunches when both of them are out of line, and i cant solve it by loosening the chain, it just goes stuipidly loose

I was out riding today and i have kinked my hose at the lever end, its ever so slightly leaking and as the title says what is the best way to fit the hose back on. Thanks Dieter

thanks for the offer but if they are the clark's light weights there only a gram lighter than the disc i have now. ive seen a few of them around i will look into it also i might be able to borrow a floating rotor of my uncle, see how they are
-
i left them how they are after talking a knock, if i did remove them just because of looks (which i do see now its a bit daft) they would of snapped sorry if this was a waste of a topic

Basicly i would like to know how much strength i will loose from cutting out the square bit on my pedals, i have hightlighted with red boxses on the picture. I geuss i am kinda loosing weight but am cutting them of because i dont like the look of the square bits. Edit: i think my own post has fail abit
-
thats better but i still dont see it as loosing that much strength as am not cutting the out side of the pedal like other people have. I think i will take the hack saw blade (i dont have a junior hacksaw) of and try to cut them out an file them smooth after, and if i can get some new dremmel parts i will try that. i found an old pair of pedals with these square parts on i will have i go on them first.
-
haha, i dont like idea of that, i would just like to take the parts of that i highlighted in the picture
-
wasnt a helpfull suggestion
-
I do have black rim tape, but keeping it new incase i get a new white rim and i will look in to it
-
It does seem it a bit, its just that the part of the pedal i dont like. just think it would look better if it was open like the DMR style, i will give it another day or two to see if i change my mind. but i didnt see it as being that supportive compared to cutting of the side of your pedals which is what i was also suggested to do.
-
Thanks for all the replys I will file them out as thats the most controled way to do it, am not after weight saving on them(tell a lie they have replaced my heavgh DMR's)by cuting the sides of them. I was going to get the echo trs but theres only a few grams between them also i got the hogs £8 cheaper of ebay so happydays.

Just a small change i would like make on my pedals is to take the square parts of that hold the reflectors on, and how do i go about it best also will it affect the strength of them.
