  1. Crackin vid, puddle crank flip is funny as
  2. ^ Exactly, thats what we wanted, im hardly guna hold the bloke to ransom if sumit goes wrong, the decision is after all totally mine, but a bit more info then " its safe " would be helpful..... google trawl produced limited help and that was the sole point in me starting this thread in the first place.
  3. It not about growing balls fella its about being as informed as i can be before parting with my hard earned. Cheers for your "help"
  4. Fair one so in the end after import tax etc your saving roughly £150 or so on uk retail
  5. The Email was via the Aliexpress site " contact seller" function, dosent list an email for the seller on there or the link to his " site "
  6. Just tried to find the sellers (to be number 1) website via google after reading your link on Safe trading...... site dosent exist He can only be contacted via Aliexpress and has no direct contact number or email address for his site.......
  7. Appreciate you taking the time to respond to this forum Ive read all the links and am pretty happy with whats there, my concern, which is shared by a few, is that there are many horror stories out there about people being scammed buying through sites just like yours. Dont get me wrong there are positives as well, but the negatives do seem to outweigh the positives. Im not pointing the finger at your site, but all the security and buyer protection in the world still wont prevent scams happening. One of the buyers i had considerd buying from seems very genuine, ive had positive and timely response from the buyer in relation to questions ive emailed. Cant ask much more really, but, theres still the niggling worry that in the back of my mind im going to get scammed, and if ive learnt anything in life, especially in my former job, its trust your gut instinct. Echo had a statement issued on a certain site warning against buying echo products from china via your site and other similar sites.
  8. Tell me more though, I've read your earlier post, but that pretty much covers what I had learnt from reading the sight Would you recommend it? was there a lot of import tax charges? which seller did you use? Bike as pictured, any damage etc? Overall cost if you dont mind sharing that info? How long did it take to receive the bike?
  9. Yep, untill i see or hear physical proof its genuine im not parting with a penny
  10. i'll be honest im not bothered when the seller gets the money as long as i get the bike and dont get shafted lol
  11. The site is like Amazon, a site that houses loads of sellers sites housed under one roof. The 'site' i.e Aliexpress is a middle man between you and the retailer, so technically the middle man is paying the retailer if that makes sense, and your paying the middle man.
  12. nah no paypal, but their payment protection plan: http://www.aliexpress.com/buyerprotection/index.html seems good
  13. My point exactly, mite just suck it up and buy from Tarty
  14. Im still nervous about taking the plunge, but its such a good deal if its genuine
  15. hahah they love a good haggle, im really tempted but i need more evidence from people that have bought bikes from the site
  16. That seller whos link i posted earlier has free postage via EMS to the UK, maybe worth a look?? My thinking is if im getting the full echo 24 bike for £491 then i can upgrade/change with parts from tartybikes and the bike would still cost less then the UK retail.....
  17. crazy isnt it, ive seen one for $800, from a seller with loads of really positive feedback. seen his website which top end road bikes as well. Emailed the guy, he replied within half an hour, really helpful, bike could be here within 15-20 days and would only have cost me £491......
  18. just emailed this seller ref the bike delivery time: http://www.aliexpres.../544683635.html He replied in 20 minutes, better then some uk shops
  19. An example of this is another seller who sells echo 24's says he has 91.sumit% positive feedback, but when you look into it, he has about 80% of that feedback as " default response" i.e the customer didnt leave a response and the seller has just added a 4 star default response for them to make his feedback look good.....not good On the other hand the guy who sells the echo i posted the link for has 98% feedback of genuine feedback: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/feedback-score/111289.html guess some are better then others, jsut choose wisely
  20. i mean look at this.... http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2012-new-Echo-24-trials-Bike-complete-bike-free-shipping-in-stock/544683635.html madness
  21. oooosh.... yeah totally agree, gut instinct n all, and im in a position to buy a new bike as well....... i just need a lil more proof, more people who have bought from here before i take the leap
  22. I know, crazy monies for a 2012 echo 24".........sorely tempted.
  23. Ive gotta be honest after reading Echos bit on Tarty about avoiding Allibaba and the like its leading me to think its just the big guns not wanting to loose business to the little fish. If the service was as good as you say im more tempted now.
  24. so in short, follow my instinct and avoid like the plague
