  1. Mixed reviews really, I use metal backings and there amazing but am really interested in other people views on this. I will try plastic backings and see how they fair up to metal backings.

  2. OK guys, so I was riding in bristol and I thought something was wrong with my chain/ freewheel area.

so I went home and discovered that every time you move the cranks the chain gets tighter then when you turn it again it gets loose.

I was wondering what was going on, it looks like the freewheel is moving strangely round and is not staying still with the bottom bracket.

I didn't know whether it was my wheel alignment, freewheel, chain or bottom bracket. please help!

I have made a video to show what is happening

    http://vimeo.com/24078114

nothing to worrie about bud, its your freewheel. Its gone egg shaped, you'll notice its your good foot forward when the chains slack due to taking all the weight and power.

  3. Entry forms attached. Plenty of time so, PLEASE HAVE THEM IN BEFORE 15TH AUGUST TO MAKE MY LIFE EASIER. NO ENTER ON THE DAY.

The observing rules will be by Bike trial Federation rules for All classes and 2min 30 second time limit will apply. You are all welcome to arrive on Saturday and camp Saturday night. There is plenty to play/practice on and the facilities will be available for us both days. (they would welcome a donation only for the use of the facilities if you can) Hope we can have a bigger entry than we have at the last couple of rounds. £3 day member ship will apply to non club memebers and no champoinship points shall be awarded to day memebers.

Last round is confirmed for 9th October at the new indoor bike venue at North Berwick. I will be taking a visit in the next few weeks to look at the layout and some BMX sections like last year. Party and presentation at night if you all want it and ride the next day at the venue or 2 min to the big rocks on the beach where some of you went last year. Train Station in North Berwick is 5min from Venue.

kev on the entry form it says round 2 bob macgregor trial, its round 6 :P:giggle:

  4. Hi peeps, right when i was down at the 3rd round of the tyke trial last wkend i noticed that alot of top/good riders are using plastic backings so its making me wonder why and what are the reasons behind it. Also when watching super elite riders on the p.c i notice alot of them also use them.

  5. bikes ain't that heavy anymore!! gasser comes in at 67kg with a 300cc engine. you can fair move these bikes these days. toni bou is on another planet though, could watch him for hours and not get bored!!! (Y)

I just watched that again, that is just unreal. sooo good!!!!

  6. i think i saw you at lee mill on sunday, thoses rocks are pretty slippy with any tyre but i noticed you had a nice conti on front..

maybe the rocks made you think that you needed new tyres ??

the best all round tyres out there are the try-alls thats what i had on if you seen my bike.

they are really light, give really good amount of spring and are pretty punture resistant. the front is a bit thinner..(about the same as your front conti) so people who tent to pinch alot might consider getting the last years front as they are a bit thicker

    hope that helps

Hi dave, the rocks were fine, theres worse out there :giggle: the conti tyres are great and i don't want to change them but the trial king front tyre won't be getting made anymore (could be wrong), since am very fussy i don't like to run odd makes front and rear, very sad i know!!! So i was just wondering are there any other really good natty bashing tyres out there, i have try-all lite tyres in shed but am yet to try them out. I was hoping there might be another model of conti tyre thats good up front?

  7. I think you mentioned at the comp you pretty much only rode natty because of where you live?

So it might be worth thinking about having try-all lite front and back. good mud shedding properties which will be good with you been from scotland ^_^

Yeah all i have here is natty really BUT its a awesome play ground, the odd bit of concrete but its very limited where i live. I have a try-all rear lite and front sticky in shed but havn't used them, maybe i should try them out. whats the maxxis tyres like??

  8. I've got a Try-all (older version, not the new lite) on the front and a der keiser on the back and it seems to be a good combo!

Not tried much else though. Only recently switched to stock!

Am really sad, i like to keep tyre makes the same and not odds. very strange i know lol

  9. As title says, Am using conti tyres at the moment and find them great!! But it looks like the conti trial king is now no more and the supersonic i find is no good up front. I like to keep tyre makes the same front and rear so whats good out there which has the stability of a der kaiser on rear and lite and grippy upfront, Maxxis, try-all etc.

    cheers peeps.

  10. lewis man up and grow a pair :P

Really good advise above there! just commit yourself, if you fall you fall just get back up and try again. think about your technique and don't rush the set up stage, relax and get the balance point then preload like hell and remember to tuck!!! (Y)
