  1. Do you keep truing the wheel ?

i do when the spokes snap..

Trueing is the hardest part of building a wheel.. It's actually really easy when you get the hang of it (Y)

ok thanks, i might have to try on an old wheel first.

Did you buy a full build echo? could be wank spokes.

Get some ace ones, building isn't that hard at all :)

yeah they are a standard build, and the front wheels spokes are laced up weird, the disc side cross each other but the other side dont?

Built my own wheels for the limey 4 just cause I wanted black spokes, takes a bit of time and if you make a mistake you'll have to debuild and re-build it again. I took my wheels to the local bike shop before truing it up completely just to make sure it was all good and they said it was good for a first ever wheelbuild.

It's a nice feeling using wheels you built.

i will have to try, ill just have to get a whole new load of spokes, i will probably do it at the end of these holidays.. just replace the ones that have snapped for now, or on a wet day.

    thanks everyone

  2. Hi.. on friday night i was out riding and snapped two spokes in my back wheel. One was on the drive side and the other wasnt the drive side, so it was easy to replace. But there is no way i can get a spoke in the drive side as the sprocket is in the way. i tried to get the sprocket of and it just bent my chain whip when it was turned to try and undo the sprocket. The missing drive side spoke has made a major difference to the wheel panning to each side, so it cant really be left like i have done before.with spokes. any suggestions to getting sprockets off in any other way?

    Thanks

  3. yeah they are the pro ones, they are normally insane in the wet and the snow! the brake is getting better, it just could do with bedding in now on a steep hill again, but it will have to wait now more snow has come.

  4. i rode it for an hour after hoping it would get better but it didnt, so i washed it all with hot soapy water, had the wheel off and the pads.. its gone better, but its still not how i like it, i will try the sand paper, thanks everyone :)

  5. Hi

yesterday i was out riding, i was pretty determined to get this line done, which is like a double step rock and then a big ish pedal up after.. i was trying it for about an hour and i crashed, i ripped the front brake hose off with my leg somehow. i took the wheel out so the oil didnt go on my disc whilst waiting for my dad to pick me up. when i got home i washed the disc with hot water and the pads.. new hose and re bled and the brake works well, it just doesn't hold at all.. anybody have any solutions to getting it top notch again? ive never had any problems with hydro disc brakes before..

the brake is an echo standard front brake with magura disc and hope mono pro pads. thanks
