  1. just thought about what a new gu tp frame would cost, around 400eur?mr.alegre does heat treating in the near future,so it hasnt to be called cheap anymore.his weldings are amazing. didnt mean to do commercials here, was just a tip and the answer for the "doesnt look like gu"-post. wont say marino again now. promise greets
  2. if marino can build this kind of top/downtube area,he sure can build a gu tp replica.ask him.tell him peter told you edit:if you heat treat a frame yourself and dont know EXACTLY what you´re doing you´ll produce a frame made of emmentaler cheese...lol
  3. and, especially for u6 and other treated stuff, the welding area would get hardened through the welding heat and needed to be u6treated again(whole frame of course) isnt worth it...sorry
  4. throw it away and get yorself a crmo frame with the same geo from marino. rode mine for 2 years now(have 92kg),still going strong like on the first day. marinos weight like 2.100g. just my opinion
  5. no,its a mudguard mount from a cheap supermarket atb i´ve been throwing away. from those rear mudguards for cheap fullys. works awesome edit:reflector bracket would be even better i think, would be more adjustable. i´ll try one out.
  6. works so good,i cant believe it(plastic)
  7. i´ve got that things, too, and mine are bulletproof lol. its just your body building up something like an armour against the treatment in trials. very practical. the peeling will stop, once the thickness is enough, kind of scar issue.
  8. you are never too old to have fun. even having the idea of getting into sports no matter how old you are is giving the answer for itself. most people are thinking 30 is the limitation for starting trials. we need someone to proof theres only limitation in mind. bring it on.
  9. sorry ross m.,i´ve stolen your red...lol
  10. actual status brake mounts and painting, then shipping. really curious about how it rides!
  11. i want it to be more on the trials side of street trials. my actual bike rides good with +25 bb,but on the rear wheel its unstable. and,as i like rear wheel moves and fakies ´n stuff, here i go... most of the parts will come from my actual bike, only the wheels are new and waiting for the frame and fork(custom 405x45,mag mounts)
  12. final look of that thing will be like this
  13. just the cad file,will be 115
  14. new project just in progress right now...
  15. to give that an answer, when i build wheels for customers, its all in place, but after a half bottle of wine.at around 22.30h cet i didnt really check out where the logos are. proud of beeing able to build a nearly perfect wheel after the half bottle though...
  16. this baby is gonna get into my rear triangle soon.just finished lacing 5 minutes ago. finally a member of the hope club.hope hope deserve their good name hope.hope so. hub:hope pro 2 evo ss/trials gunsmoke rim:atomlab G.I. spokes:sapim strong no comments about the rim and spoke wight please,i´m not a weight weenie at all. new frame coming soon...
  17. youre right.finally someone does understand me...
  18. @monkeyseemonkeydo:my bike´s the marino 24 in the bike pics section.street frame converted to-well it has skye geo,but 365mm chainstays. will be replaced soon by a 360 chainstay 1020 wheelbase frame, and to go for more trialsy stuff a dedicated trials one. btw,i finished the rebuild of a dualdrive hub to singlespped recently.has 72 clicks now (8pawls)and 560g. unfortunately its 36h,wich makes the rim choice harder. i extended a steerer with an aluminium tube and the cutoff part from shortening the steerer. heated the steel steerer and cooled down the alu thingy to -35° with nitrogene, then put together with nice little hammer strokes. THIS is forever. named cryofit, but i wouldn´t call it that haha ali your solution reminds me of the good old LEGO or CONSTRUCTA sets.awesome(just kidding)
  19. theres a steerer extension on your bike that clamps like a stem? i know that thing. i wouldn´t be that brave to try it,to be honest. can you show it?
  20. i HAVE to tell it to you, though i hate to say it(cos i wanted to buy them, too): these are district bars! the preload thing is probably because when comprimating(i hope this word really exist) and pulling then to gain height you get a serious ammount of bending force into the bars.and no matter if its alu or steel, many few have an elastic module of more than 8-15%,wich together with tensile strength is fundamentalfor the bars holding up or not. there can be dynamic forces at around 2k newton each end of the bar (90kg rider,700mm bar(lever 300-330,depending on stem clamp, means pulling force aprox. 400N/grip) holy s**t,would somebody please beef up any bar immediately?? have i ever told any of you how difficult it is to explain such things in english when your german? pfffft...
