As the title says, i am thinking about getting the giro flak 2012 helmet. I am looking for pisspot type helmet that is light and not to sweaty. I would also like it to be as low profile as possible.
The giro faction :

If you have used this helmet before or have any other types you can recommend that would be great.
Thanks

I love the evil faction, but the orange......

The Tr rims hold a grind better than anything else,
I have also used the trialtech sport rim, it seemed very solid and held a grind well.

This is a great thread, im getting a 2011 echo trial frame built up at Tarty at the end of the month, and this has answered a good few Q's i had, especially as ive been away from trials for a good while. Cheers
You will not be dissapointed with the echo, i ride one and after riding a mod for almost 2 years and i have improved rapidly on the 24"
+1 for the 150x30 stem, i use 10mm of stackers with it and try all carbon bars and it feels great.

Just puntured my big betty tyre second ride on it. I was running high pressure and it wasn't even a big gap.
The tyre seems very bouncy and light, but the grip and stability just dosen't match the Maxxis high roller in the wet. I will be keeping it for the dry weather though.

I sent this in the end, hope it's ok.

Dear Sir/Madam
I'm a (Age and school), and I have been given the opportunity of spending one week on
Work Experience from the 11th - 15th March 2013. I would like to ask whether you are able to offer me a placement
for this week.
I am studying Double Science, Geography, ICT, D&T Resistant materials as well the primary GCSE's
I'm very interested in cycling and I would love to work as a bicycle mechanic when I'm old enough to be employed. I
compete all over the country in cycle trials and last year I was placed 4th in the British nationals I'm also interested in all
other forms of cycling. I would be grateful for the opportunity to gain some experience into the world of work and whether
this is the type of work I would like to do when I leave school.
Thank you for spending the time in reading this email, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully
Tom Walker
What do you guys think?
Brilliant
I worked in a sports centre for work experience and all i did was clean the windows and the toilets.

Great vid,
What camera are you using, looks very good quality.

6m x 6m. bearing in mind how tall you are when on the back wheel. and then how high you go when you jump.
theres not a lot of room to do anything really.
you really only have room to lay down 2 pallets and do some gaps.
I don't think he means the area is 6m high.

We should make a small league for trials forum, eg £5 entry per person (winner takes all).
-
Great Idea, i would be up for that
But there will be many football haters on this site who will say for example "football used to be a mans sport and now they just dive around like pre madonna's"

Nice, but some white rim tape should work nicely. :wink2:
How are the discs performing.
-
Maggies are lighter, better bite +hold, slim chance of hitting them.
Seems to me they are better in everyway.

maybe you shouldnt be riding on a monument either. just saying. its a little disrespectful.
It looks as if someone has already been a nob and sprayed some graffiti on it.
-
Looks amazing :wink2:
When will the continental tyres be avaliable to buy and how much do they weigh ?
-
More of a range of 24" tyres e.g continental and try all sticky.

Have a think about what move(s) you want to train and make your set up around that.
The moves i mainly want to learn are hooks and front to backs onto thin obstacles.

Great vid, amazing riding spots
@1.05 That made me flinch, broken arse.

Recently i have been forced into going inside a market on my bike because of terrible weather. In this market there are tonnes of pallets, so far i have been making gaps, sidehops etc. But i am getting bored.
Does anyone have any ideas of a fun way of setting out pallets for different types of moves.
Pictures of what people build from pallets is helpful. This is what i put out last night (i know it is pretty boring) :

Nice vid,
What editing program did you use to make it.

It's not 'modded to fook' though if there's so much more you could do... Those holes next to the spoke holes would make me have sleepless nights as well. Whatever happened to doing things right? I know it wasn't you who drilled them, so someone needs to show that clarke how to use a centre punch!
It wasn't me who drilled those holes, it was like that when harmertrials sold it to me.

I switched and it was the best choice i have made in ages, everything feels a lot easier eg sidehops, gaps to front, gaps up.
I would save up a bit more money and get a second hand echo trial 2011 with a good spec off here.
Is This A Decent Choice For A Helmet ?

I prefer the flak type of helmet because it protects the back of your head and i find it comfier although it might be heavier.
