  1. I tried that today on a dock about knee hight, however I found that I'd lose balance and fall sideways almost instantly hehe. only tried that for around 10 minutes though
  2. Hey! I'm very new to trials, and would like some help; After 3 or 4 riding sessions I've just about mastered the trackstand. This I've found fairly easy, a little wobbly here and there but with work I should be able to perfect it! However I have now begun practicing to raise my front wheel, following one or two video tutorials I've found online I know the basics behind it; 1/4-ish sharp pedal kick whilst pulling back catch bike on a balancing 'sweet spot' using rear break so not to simple tip the bike upside down manage to hold the back in upright position, hopping to adjust the bikes balance I can manage to raise the bike into an upright position however I am struggling to find this 'sweet spot' to balance in. I usually fall forwards as I'm not learning back enough or end up over-extending and tipping the bike too far Does anyone have any tips or tricks, or pointers in what im doing wrong? I'm practicing atleast 2 or 3 times a week for a number of hours, and will try and record what I'm doing for better criticism too Thanks! Gav
  3. is there anybody else who would be able to give some input. Some things to think about : 1. Have you ever had a problem fitting your bike in an allocated area? I live in a quieter area and only ever commute from Middlesbrough to Darlington, these only consist of 2 - 3 carriage trains but there is dedicated pushchair/bike space at each end of the train. Being a quiet route I almost never have a problem finding space! 2. have you been turned away with a bike for any reason before ? O have never been turned away, but again, probably because of the rather quiet route I take. 3. only certain rail services require a bike pass/reservation, does this get confusing ? I never knew this! I've always obliviously boarded a train assuming my bike wouldnt offend anyone as it probably rivals a suitcase, push chair or dog in annoyance/space. 4. has your bike ever been damaged or stolen due to the limited interest in cycle travel from companies and government ? Nope, I hold onto my bike as if it were my first born! especially whilst travelling on a train where people could trip over it etc (im too nice!) and anything else related to travelling with your bike People asking me where my seat is annoys me! hehe
  4. Music always got me in the mood to ride, always will.
  5. I'd probably consider if its still around by october (i get paid then ) keeping options open until I get paid though
  6. Hi there, I was reading a thread you posted and it says you are looking at buying a new bike. I have just bought a new 24" bike and I am wanting to sell my old mod, it is a very nice koxx xtp. I just thought you may be interested? Cheers Ewan

  7. Cool, thanks for the quick replies guys. Now I'll keep reading up on things and researching, will be buying a 2nd hand bike around the start of october. Any tips on what to go for? Being light & short I was thining 20" but is there anything else I should be looking for/avoiding?
  8. Well I wont have the funding until october, when I get paid. But I'll take all your advice and probably buy 2nd hand around then!
  9. Having casually BMX'd throughout my teenage years I have gotten through to my final year of university and the urge has come back... Always wanting to get into trials I havesaved up £400 to get myself a nice starter bike etc etc... New to such stuff I was wondering if a more wiser being could tell me whether; 1) Is having only 5 - 10 hours spare time per week on average enough to make this a reasonable investment? 2) is £400 an adequate amount for a suitable quality/cost bike? 3) So far I'm leaning toward an Onza, specifically Onza Rip 2013. ThoughtS?
