yo dude, if you had made some alu ones then they would be much stronger i myself have been looking into a pair of dropouts alone that i can then unbond my magnesium dropouts and bond alu ones onto the lower legs easy enough to do as all i would need to do is put a wheel in while the bonding is taking place so that the dropouts dont set on a bit skew iff. i will look into it again this week, as if you get some 2nd hand RC31 off ebay or sumit you could easily make/design some dropouts and see about an engineer knocking a couple of pairs up. Waynio.................... all i would say is DONT be scared of the carbon breaking be more scared of the drop outs. as when mine broke the front disc snapped the caliper off and i was left bridging a gap and the front wheel dropped down cos the caliper literally fell off. you can get like a v-brake kit to put a magura or v-brake on the front and it would be alot safer as the dropouts then would not break unless you drop the forks on the floor without the wheel in

raub yes BUT if you transferred a trial disc brake onto IS forks you would need a new 160mm rotor. as the trial disc for koxx forks is a caliper number 5. i have one on the front of my koxx forks. caliper number 5 in most hope brakes equates to 160mm rotor (on the front this is) on the rear it equates to 140mm. the best way to over co0me this mate is take a few days off the bike. you will be back to full fitness and more desire to ride. every now and again you just need that day or 2 rest then the hunger for riding again will make you want to do things different and perfect existing moves. Waynio...................... iv found it helps loads. sometimes work gets on top of me and then go out on the bike after and it literally makes my day. i can do something then sit in front of it and think to myself well thats quite sick regarding the crap day iv had. it can be quite satisfying too. but i do get what you mean i have been through it too (Y) :- it happens to most of us, just some people may not like to come out with it. but i think you have started quite a kool topic (Y)

they are purely wikid forks i have had a set custom made down to a more reasonable length people may see them next week up at addingham for the world round as its tempting me to use the lightest possible parts on my bike. but the drop outs aint that clever. if you break them dont go crying to pace THEY WILL know you have used them for trials. AND when i had mine made i hade to write a disclaimer and sign one from them to confirm under any circumstances or breaking and injury to myself (ie carbon splints up my arse or in my head) then i could not claim compo. and that was fair enough. my new ones dont have any flex and im hoping that the new dropout lasts longer. dont state what you havent proved! iv run my koxx forx into the ground and they are still spot on. they are on my 1100 bike and are awesum, you can order the brakes from places and they will send you the correct set up if you state your fork set up. just dont be a wimp and buy a 180mm mono trial/Try all disc brake and set it up and dont piss about with it. too many people play with them. just put em on wipe/smear mud on them and just get oon with it! i dropped one of my pads in oil the other day and i set the pad on fire to burn it off, my brake was pants for about 5/10minutes until i smeared more mud on it then it went back being awesum again. if your forks are IS and on a 26" wheel bike get the caliper number 3 with the 180mm rotor. if a mod bike get caliper number 5 with 160mm rotor. if you own koxx forks order caliper number 5 with a 190mm rotor. Waynio................................. if you aint happy with koxx products dont buy them but most people who have or own them are happy as the strength and durability of them is awesum. i deffinatly wouldnt buy a frame on the market at the mo other than a levelboss as i know the riding i have been doing WOULD have deffinatly broken most other frames. if you cant get up it i will literally go through it!!!!

what pads did you have in there????? if you had gold then they are one of the best pairs anyway so would have to try some EBC reds, but usually the gold ones are awesome!!!!! if they are contaminated they wont work too well. Waynio.......................

i dot see why you have to make a hoohar of it mate. if you had of contacted the place you purchased it from like most other people would have done they will ask for it back for inspection and then either send you a replacement or fix the current1. as they have 4 bearings in i think or 2 and they are replaceable. so they are better than most isis b/b as they are pretty well serviceable. ye i can take anyone up. the van is huge had like 6 people and 6 bikes in tonight when i went up addingham. as were not allowed up next week. saw dan smith up there too. there is plenty of room for riders and spectators as long as people dont mind getting along in the back of a Vivaro style van. you probably could joe :shifty: if people are struggling to get upto the event from skipton LET ME KNOW!!!!iv got a mahoosive van and people can sit or party in the back while we drive up there. i must know a good few days before hand though or i wont call at the auction mart or meet people in a sensible place to pick people up. for example if people werent at the Auction mart i could meet you all near the train station? or at the bus station? its all feesable as long as people know who i am to pick up and times etc etc. it may have to be early as i need to be up there at like 7.30 maybe???? LMAO! i will explain it to you when i see you next then Jonno :) (Y) Waynio................. also the money thing is quite a personal question i deffinatly know it wouldnt be one that i would go upto a pro and go "ere mate how much do you get paid?" i think thats quite a rude question and extremly personal. not many if any would actually answer it. but they get enough as they probably enjoy doing it as a job aswell as a sport/hobby therefore it keeps them happy, it may not be £80k a year it may only be £1k a year who cares. they do it for the love of the sport and personally thats all that matters. if someone asked me to do a demo for example and said we dont know weather we could afford to pay you i would rather do it as a good will gesture to advertise the fact of trials (in this case this has happened quite alot and it has put pros in a difficult position) but demos i do are completly different to demos that ashton and hawzee do, i more talking about Gala's and fairs where you want to advertise the fact that there is an extreme sport such as trials and its good fun and it gets more and more kids involved. for the kids to see PRO riders such as akrigg hawzee and ashton etc its like seeing to some their idles. like when i get the opportunity to ride with them i take it with alot of pride that i have had the pleasure to ride with someone of that calibre and experience and i try to learn as much as possible from them. i remember the 1st time hawzee and ashton walked into aire valley!!!!i couldnt bring myself to even speak to them as i thought they would be too good to speak to me but it was all kool and we got talking and ever since that i pay them alot of respect and take everything they say in and listen to their advice. but why though????? i work with akkers and he is a laugh all day long from start to finish and he enjoys what he does. i dont think that he could do it without having a job. he couldnt finance himself. its the same with people like Ben Savage he goes to college to learn a certain trade or disipline and he will then join the club as most of us by getting a job. i dont see why anyone would want to sit on their arse all day. even people like hawzee and ashton i think there is alot more to it than you think. Hawzee stayed in the same room as myself and the GF saturday night before the british round and again it was an absolute laugh and extremly fun, the "hows your job" question came up and hawzee explained to me that its literally just like i do its not all fun fun fun all the time most of it can be but there is more to it than riding your bike. What happens when your injured? what happens when you cant do what you have planned???? theres alot of thing that need to be done that none of us do or would understand. spending time with people such as Chris, Hawzee and Ashton makes me more dedicated to the sport and makes me want to be like them more and more. i dont just want cycling as a JOB i want it as leisure fun and thats what i get out of it. just like i feel most of the pro's get out of it. the good thing about trials is that no pro rider thinks he is too good to be actually around someone less able than themselves. they all accept everyone as they are and have a dead kool and extremly nice personality. they dont get up at each other and never have problems with each other. RESPECT is the key to it i think. if they are shown respect they give it back. Waynio...................

Also "MASTERS" at world level IE there is only 5/6 UK riders are seeded for this Akrigg, Hawzee, Ashton, James Hyland, Ben Savage are 5 that i fully know of that dont need to do anything but tick a few boxes to say which rounds there going to. unfortunatly danny b isnt as yet. but if he rode the worlds and won or come 2nd or 3rd overall he would qualify as a "Master" world rider. speaking to Chris Akrigg at mo about all this and he said that it used to be that "Masters" or "Elite" riders obviosly one is 20" and other is 26" that if you were a rider in this category as in you having to qualify by riding world rounds you automatically get a place BUT your place does not count on a 20 man english team. its like auto matic promotion in football you have earned the right to go YET you can still take 20 other riders. UNLESS that has changed i do not know i dont make the rules or make them apply. EVEN if Martyn Ashton rides and someone moans i would rather see all the UK known pros and such forth up there im not taking anything away from Danny B at all. this topic should be closed sealed and shut off by now. its going to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!! or need it doing to it to stop this crap.................
