  1. Looking at getting another steed, want something comp style seen as I've only ever had street rigs. Just wondering what people think, looking at anything up to about 1500ish, full build GU off Tarty looks good, bit of advice would be appreciated.cheers
  2. I've seen the Echo pure full build on tarty and one on trials addict, slight differences, which is the better for the money? Also anyone had any experiences with the echo's, I've always had street trials machines so not to clued up on theses kind of rigs. Cheers G
  3. Yeh I used to use the 25.4 ones now I got 31.8, I agree with you there! I'm just gunna gave to them and try them. Thanks
  4. I agree, I set the bike up they way I uses to have it and it didn't work, I seem to need a totally different set up! Always run Eastons before but no good now! Wheres the 40mm measured from? I read the trial techs have 103mm which seems huge, are they measured the same?
  5. Curtis T1, street, and a 10mm at the minute! Old skool bike, just built it back up, already gone through 4 stems!
  6. Hi all I currently run an 80mm x 25 stem with an Easton EA70 high rise bar and I'm finding it too low. Does anyone know how much more rise I would get with a Trial tech high rise bar? Thinking of pairing with a 90mm x 25 trialtech stem too. Anybody?
  7. Flexibility is the issue I reckon, like damon said 90% of gym goers have the same problem. I wouldn't do hamstring stretches, they don't work in my experience. Start with a stance slightly wider than shoulders, point toes slightly outwards, look forward, chest high and sit into the squat, bringing your hips between your knees, straight back. At first you may only be able to go down so far but in time the flexibility will come, this is like an olympic squat, alternatively try box squats, research louie simmons from Westside barbell, they have big guys who are world class and theres plenny on tutorials available from them. Bottom line is keep your hips level and sit between your knees, like having a poo on the floor!
  8. Lowering the gear would increase the amount of pedal rotation and decrease the distance travelled supposed to a stiffer gear which would decrease the amount of pedal rotation and increase the distance travelled, is this what you meant?
  9. Free wheel option is cheaper, whether you want the ratio higher or lower id take an educated guess, that or try someone elses bike and then swap your free wheel, you will probably change your mind again after a while!
  10. You will change after a while, I started with 22 19t then 18t 17t 16t and now I've just ordered a 15t! This is over years though! Id try a couple then you'll know what's best for you at this time!
  11. Yeh got it now, my mate gave me a v in the end so I was sorted!
  12. Who is bing, I can't see the damn picture?
  13. Haha, that's my excuse, nah, always street for me! Yeh come down on a weekend and we will all get out! Plus I might be good by then!haha buy a curtis!
  14. Hey travis how's it going, ha, only a bit heavier, definatly stronger cos 16t don't cut it, may need a 14t! I'm a bit sloppy but it will come back! Your a street monkey now arnt you? Coming to play bunny hops?
  15. Thought id write a reply, this is my curtis t1, I bought it in 2004 after snapping all my prevoius frames, orange zero, planet x zebdi to name a few, probably frames not known to most of you now. Back in the day this was the mutts nuts, and in my opinion it still is, dreamed of owning one and one day did. I quit trials in around 06 and this ended up stripped in my mates shed. Few months ago I came across a vid on youtube of martin ashton and I got the trials bug back instantly, found my frame and built it up best I could on a budget, so if the set up doesn't look spot on its because I went with what I could get hold of, had my first ride yesterday and felt 18 again, hadn't lost it either, bike rides awesome if your into a street bike feel, can't wait for next ride.
