  1. nichols_sam you are a legend - Cheers chap! :S Now the world can see my amazing Photoshop skills... :) I've never understood the whole vector thing, or why you'd choose to use a CMYK pallette over an RGB one... Could anyone explain this?
  2. I couldn't work out how to include the pic in the thread, but my first photoshop attempt is in my album in the gallery..... It took me two hours to change it from black to pink... :")
  3. Where's the nearest station to Stoneleigh Park? If it's do-able, I'm only in Lincoln during term so Coventry shouldn't be too much of a journey... Can't see the parents letting me take the car from home (Suffolk) to Coventry and back..." When are the best days for the trials / BMX comps?

    Steve-o Vid

Read my post again chap  That guy can do stuff I can't do, and I've been riding for nearly three years on and off. I personally wouldn't make a vid for fear of getting stick, but he did and good luck to him! :ermm: Take some of this criticism critically though - tell the guy it'd benefit from a wider variety of moves and better visual quality. We've all got to remember that this is probably the guy's first vid, so better stuff is yet to come...
  5. I can't figure out how to load my pic onto the thread, but have a look in my album in the gallery for my contribution...

This took literally 2hrs for me to Photoshop... :")
  8. Yup, you were bored... Gimme a minute and i'll see what hilarious amatuerish-ness I can whip up...

    Watch Out!

Can't work out how to post the pic, but I'm the proud owner of a Nixon Rocker  Who's had their Nixon the longest? I've had mine since April '04...
  10. How annoying is that?! Mr Urban mammoth can whip up amazing stuff like that on Photoshop, while I'm at uni PAYING to learn how to use Photoshop and I struggle to draw a building for my animation! (Lunja mumbles something then goes to sulk in the corner...) :ermm: Good luck to you mate  Wish I could use it as well as that! I remeber a topic a while ago where someone had made a wallpaper that took 18hrs! Was a couple of months ago I think... Anyone got a copy of it?

    Steve-o Vid

I don't think you did too bad there chap! It's a shame that the quality is poor (but it needs to be small to be easily downloaded) and a few more locations would have been good. It's good to see a vid from a more average rider than someone who can gap for miles! Keep that vid, then make it again in a years time in the same spots to show how far you've come since then...

    Mac Mini

Cheers for that B) I do media studies, but have never come across that before... Anyway, why are you still up? Why am I still up?!?! B) >_< (I've been checking Mac rumor sites most of the night to find out when the new powerbooks are coming out :"> I feel cheap and dirty...) B)

"Media Jamming"? Explain... I thought it was a fine piece of satire myself... Thats still not put me off buying a PowerBook though! ( Rumour sites are saying that there could be new ones out soon...)
  14. Put some yellow spots on it B) B) Personally I'd have gone for electric neon pink, so bright it'll blind people >_< Looks like a nice build though! I've not seen a Levelboss that looked particularly streety, but that one looks good!
  15. We had one of those charity Fooseball tables - it used to be 50p a go, then the coin thing mysteriously broke, so we didnt have to pay for a game. Charity guy thought we were right stingy b*****ds when he came to collect the cash and there was £1.50 in there... (N)
  16. I'm really tempted to go for a d'n'b tune for my vid; bit unconventional... I'm definately gonna use Rob Dougan "Clubbed to death" though... So nobody'd better nick it (N)

    Trains

A young persons' railcard is £20, so it might be worht getting one of these if you're a student and you're gonna be doing the journey regularly... It usually halves the ticket price. Return will be cheaper btw - Home to Uni one-way = £22.50, return = £24.50
  18. Right, I'm in a bit of a kerfuffle... (Check the time of the post...) As I've said in various posts (sorry if anyone is getting annoyed!), I want to get a laptop for design and editing work. Here the problems start... I've been told to get a Powerbook, since these are meant to be more reliable for intensive work. BUT, after much searching, it may be worth waiting until OSX Tiger comes out, along with the PowerBook G5. I don't know when these will both be available, so that's question 1. Second, are Macs really that reliable compared to a Sony Vaio? I've seen some on eBay with 3.2ghz,100gb, 1gb RAM, TV tuners, etc that are LESS than the 1.5ghz G4, 80gb 512mb 15"G4's... Should I just go for a cheaper, higher-spec Vaio? Third, would it be worth looking into modding a barebones laptop from eBuyer? There was a thread recently about Shuttle barebones systems and it got me thinking... Could I even mod a barebones system to run OSX? Lastly, how much do you think my current setup is worth - eMachines 2400- Celeron 2.4mhz, 40gb, 256mb, Keyboard, mouse, 15" TFT monitor, with Photoshop 6.0 installed? Was wondering how much I'd get for it, since I could use my laptop as my main system... If I could get a TV tuner, I'd sell my TV as well to raise funds... Sorry if there are loads of spelling mistakes (trying to type quietely you see  ) but I'll sort them in the morning. Basically, it boils down to whether Macs really are superior for intensive work, or whether I'd be better off getting a Windows-based, Intel monster. And if so, whether it'd be better to try and custom build one. Cheers all! Essay done... :("

    Vinco "review"

The more I look at it, the lower it seems... Is this the shape of things to come? First mods and stock merged to make a 24in, now they're merging with over-0degree rise BB's and long stems... All we need now is a 24" high BB'd bike with a mid length stem and the cross-breed will be complete! Mwahahahaha!!!!

    Mac Mini

Ahh..... :( Well sorry people - I stand corrected. I've been on eBay trying to buy a PowerBook, and people have been saying that it runs WindowsXP using VirtualPC, and showing a screen-shot of Windows running. And the thing about the Cinema Displays is kind of annoying - was going to get one to sit at home and plug in to my PowerBook when I win the Lotto tomorrow!

Good review there chap :( I've got to ask though, is it made to run a stem that long and an angle that steep? I'm not complaining, just I've not seen that before...

    Mac Mini

To Spunky-Monkey: Macs are so great that you can install Windows on them! (Using Virtual PC7 I believe...) There's even versions of Microsoft Office for them called Office X... If you're looking for a monitor for the macMini, you could get on of their 30in Cinema displays... :("

    Mac Mini

I Couldn't be bothered to learn the shortcuts! Would a two-button mouse work with a Mac, so the right button would bring up a cut/paste/copy menu? BTW, have a look round Mac user sites, especially US ones. There's been comments made that Mac Mini's might be prone to overheating because of the small case. I haven't heard of this actually happening though.

I've used OSX at uni, and it's simple to use. I'd never used a Mac before and I'm not too techy with computers, but I didn't have any problems... Apparently they're very reliable - the eMac I used at Uni had the animation projects (Photoshop files, FinalCutPro files and iDVD) of around 15people on it and it never stalled. Personally I prefer it to Windows, although it was annoying having no right-click for cutting and pasting, but the way you can drag-and-drop almost anything is handy. About the removable storage- Mates of mine were using iPods as removable storage for project pieces. If yours only came with a Windows install disk, it may only support the file types which XP and OSX both use (Can't remember them off the top of my head, but I think word docs will be fine...) Not that helpful I know, but hey, I've done my bit  :(
