Disclaimer for Ali C - There are a couple oppo tricks in here, I do apologise

I didn't realise this was such a rule. its like cutting fingers off with rotors will be more common than actually falling off... so dumb. Could be classed as a weapon ay!

I dare say that there isn't any noticeable difference between the MT7 and the MT5 when it comes to power.
there isnt I've used them both. I could be wrong but i THINK piston shape or something along those lines is different in the master cylinder? Again I could be talking nonsense haha.
Well the quality of the levers themselves are completely different, considering I snapped my friends mt5 blade that was only a few months old.... Peace of mind for me I went for these macaskill ones. Like I say, I don't exactly buy brakes often and got an insane deal on them Other than that I completely agree where everybody is coming from.

The pricing of the MT7 is a bit on the strange side. It's pretty much double the MT5 but as pointed out, the caliper is the same. If you break down what these brakes comprise of, an MT7 lever + 4pot caliper are therefore priced similarly to two MT5 levers and two 4pot calipers. A bit of maths and you'll get the value of the MT7 lever which is equivalent to an whole MT5 brake AND an MT5 lever. That's a bit steep for an extra adjustment and improved mechanical advantage in a very similar package
Although the "plastic" Magura use in the levers has some pretty impressive mechanical properties I can't see why you'd chose them over Hopes, which are a beautiful piece of engineering
Very good points there, I can't disagree!
I get roughly 60% off them through work though (only once!) , and since the power is simply brilliant I thought why not Plus they look rad haha

You work in a bike shop and allow yourself to ride a bike with hose like that haha. Just shorten them. You don't need fluid for shortening :')
for the amount I need to shorten them by I think I will Either way its peace of mind considering what they are. Besides, I don't want brand new brakes working like shiteeee

Sorry to post again but on the subject of Skye's, my friend George went full on, full stealth. He doesn't have TF so I'll post on his behalf. IMO this is insane -

I got the 810 Saints for 100. I ran the MT5s (same as the MT7s expect for the lever) and wasn't happy with them. The perform very well but I hate it when the rotor rubs on the pads and since the gap is so small, this happens very quick.
Maguras are a tad harder to set up arent they, always found that building bikes at work compared to shimano stuff. End of the day to get the best performing brake, you need that super accurate tiny gap so the pads hit the rotor square, and at exactly the same time. nobody ever seems to have it which is fair enough because its a bitch to do. my saints are pretty damn good at the moment.

I take it you use Hope adapter? If not, get some or you won't have your Zee on the rear for long.
I don't think I'd ride without a hope adaptor on the back of any trials bike haha! They are nice n' strong. Only reason I have a shimano one on the front is because it was free, and front brakes aren't as much issues when shimano 203 adaptors (not hollow ones) are strong enough as it is anyway
Even if they did break I'm getting Maguras at the end of the month because instead of £590 I get them for about £270 ish LEL
