  1. I've just installed a front Avid BB7 (185mm rotor) on my Ashton, but at the moment its incredibly spongey! I'm using an Avid SD7 lever. I've heard that using a Linear brake cable helps out loads (Si Sagar can vouch for this for BMX's he used etc), can anybody on here say they've used a linear cable on their Trials bike? I feel I may also need to use a spacer or something for the caliper as it seems a tad wonky looking downwards on the brake... although having said this, surely when you loosen the bolts, put the brake on and tighten the bolts up during installation is meant to get the caliper's position just right? Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

    Jonny.

  2. Change of plan for me, my 7D isn't insured yet and frankly I don't fancy having anything happen to it this early on. My Ashton also isn't really in a fit state to ride on anything, so I'm taking the decision to miss this one lads, apologies. Sign of the times, FML (N)

  3. I may pop up actually, need to test my new 7D and GoPro HD out, wont be riding Trials, my Ashton needs new brakes etc lol

but not free... plenty of free parking up near the uni or in kingsdown (which is where I live) that rolls you into the centre pretty darn quick.

I'll be parking at yours IF there is space.

  4. Here's a video I've put together made up entirely of timelapse sequences - essentially LOTS of photos taken at 3 second intervals then bolted together in QuickTime Pro, then edited. There are two sequences shot on the Porthcawl seafront. It was shot when I drove up to Wales for Gavin Bedford's funeral, the video is dedicated to him, Rest In Peace Gav X X

  5. Awesome dude! Well done! Really good advert too, I think it had more substance to it than the Passat ad Danny did (although that was great too!) Much deserved after your brakeless vid... although this was shot BEFORE your video came out, so even more kudos! :D

Looks like a 24" to meh.

Think Ali is riding a prototype 26" Inspired at the moment isn't he?

  6. chainspotting anyone?? big respect for that

It wasn't Chainspotting lol, it was Getta Grip :giggle:

Superb video, shot entirely on a Canon 550D DSLR from what I understand from speaking to Rowan, epic work :)

Only 250,000 views as of this post, not that many then :P

  7. I regret to inform the Trials community, that sadly Gavin passed away today. He went peacefully and was not in pain. Truly sad, sad news. I didn't know Gavin very well, but he was always enthusiastic the few times I spoke to him!

Please leave any condolence messages, his family, close friends and buddies will no doubt he deeply touched by then!

Another rider lost, I have no words :(

  8. Just been on the phone with John Shrewsbury and he's been with Gav for the past day or so at his bed side and his injuries are pretty horrific. They're basically just trying to get as many people to go and see him, talk to him and try and get some reaction from him. Doctors have said that the sooner he starts moving the better - he's still on life support! So if you live near Gav or you're not to far away and have a few hours to spare this weekend please go and see him, it would mean the world to his family and everybody around him. Martin Hawyes was on holiday and has left early to fly back to go and see him, Martyn Ashton travelled the entire length of the country (pretty much) to go and see him after a demo he was doing, so the support has been out of this world so far - his parents had no idea he had so many mates and knew so many people!

I'll keep this thread as updated as possible, I should hear from John again in a day or so!

  9. Just had a call from John Shrewsbury to say that they are doing some tests on Gavin at the moment to see if he can come off of his breathing equipment, so fingers crossed he can start breathing on his own! Much love and thoughts to his family and friends again!

  10. Hi again everyone, OK I just got off the phone from John Shrewsbury.

Gavin's funeral has now been arranged for Wednesday 30th June at All Saint's Church in Porthcawl @ 2pm.

Gavin is then going to be buried at Jubilee Gardens Graveyard @ 3pm.

Followed by a funeral reception where everybody can mingle, have some drinks and reflect on Gavin's life @ 3.30pm - this is being held at Grove Golf Club.

    Directions

Here is the church on Google Maps - LINK

The nearest post code for SatNav's I could find for All Saint's Church was for Porthcawl Library, which is directly next to the church - CF36 3AG

Post code for Jubilee Gardens Graveyard - CF36 5TB - This is a couple of roundabouts or so down the road from the church, on the A4229 (Pyle Road), will be on your right-hand-side coming from the church. Google Maps - LINK

Post code for the Grove Golf Club - CF33 4RP - Again, just down the road from Jubilee Gardens. Google Maps - LINK

    Dress code

As Gavin was always a bright and bubbly character who loved surfing, it is requested that anybody who wishes to come is to wear casual (but smart-ish) clothes - standard dark clothing just will not reflect the kind of person Gav was! So feel free to wear an Animal shirt or alike, your best pair of jeans, surf shorts or alike, flip flops, your best pair of Etnies or what have you! Everybody wants to give Gav the BEST send off possible and this will only help with doing so! :)

Many thanks and Gavin's family, close friends and buddies hope to see as many of you there as possible!

  11. EASILY the best riding video I think I've ever seen! I've got a massive amount of respect for Ali, the guy has SO much skill and amazing style, completely gobsmacked by that! I'd love to see Danny Mac and Chris Akrigg try some of those lines! Massive kudos Ali and Mark! Flow flow flow! The only tiny tiny thing that I felt let it down were the titles, thats it! AWESOME :D

First video I've filmed and edited, so any constructive criticism's welcomed

Really? I thought you have done all the Tarty Bikes video guides?
