Yes chain is the correct tension

I'm a complete noob to trials this is my first bike.onza rip few years old the only question I can answer is the cgain is tight

I don't know if this is right. But when I pedal there seems to be a lag or delay befor the chain and cogs engage.I don't know technical terms any help please .

Hi guys just wandering what are the benefits of a smaller tooth ring.I'm just starting out in trials. I brought my self a cheap 09 onza rip.only standard setup with 24 tooth ring and 18 tooth at rear wheel.it looks like it just bolts on.feel free to correct me.any help please

But won't that make my pads closer to the rim?

How do I adjust v brake lever.currently I have to pull lever all way back nearly touching bars.my pads are already set to about 3mm from rim.the brakes catch really well when applied.I can turn barrel adjuster but this just makes pad rub on rims.any help please

Took a look at crank. took left side off greased spindle refitted crank.tightened up.not sure how tight it should be but done it quite tight. And Bob's your uncle no more creaking. Unlike my bones.being a new trials rider at 30 something

Not had chance yet just getting advice before I attemp anything serious.I will keep you informed once I've had a play

Don't have a crank puller is there amother method I got a car ball joint splitter the fork type. The bike is 2009 onza rip with standard components

There doesn't seem to be any play just creaking under load while pedaling. don't feel any rubbing.when I get chance I will investigate further. if I need to remove cranks how do I do this.

Hi jumped on bike this morn and noticed cranks creaking. It happens when pedals are under load and rotating I.e. when pedaling on a flat. I not had chance to investigate yet.but how difficult is it to strip necessary components then to rebuild thanks

Ok will try that thanks.another question. brake levers.I got standard front and rear v brakes .Is it best to have a little pull or full pull backwards or is this down to personal preference

Ok are these the pinch bolts?

If the top cap is the Allen bolt I have already checked this.and it is well tight. Is there anything else to check

Thanks for your help.I don't know if you can tell I'm a complete newbie to trials. I brought a used onza rip not sure what year but it's only got basic setup including v brakes. Suppose it's ok for a beginner at only £50 I can't grumble so any help and advice would be much appreciated. I would also like if there are any local riders in Nottingham who's willing to teach an old dog some new tricks

Thanks.by doing it this way will it prevent my chain from tightening by it self.

After researching they are chain tugs I put wheel back in lined it centre tighted wheel nuts so chain is tensioned then just nipped up chain tugs so clamps are not lose chain had about half inch play then while bike is still in the air I turned pedals a few times but chain went mega tight and I could feel the bearings rubbing

Here is my problem I got a puncture in my rear wheel I released to big nuts either side if axle but wheel would not move noticed some sort of locking spacer that's wedged between nuts and frame with a bolt on then a small hook clamp which you can turn I'm not sure but I think this tightens the chain finally after a bit of force with mallet banging wheel to front of bike was able to move chain off sprocket thus removing wheel.fixed puncture now comes the head wrecking part refit wheel what is the correct procedure cause when everything is lined up tightened up a few turns of the pedals then chain goes mega tight where you can feel the bearings running what am I doing wrong this has got to be the longest ever puncture repair please help

No experience on stunt bike used to ride mtb and bmx in my teens only for fun though could wheelie 100Mrs on mtb small bunny hops and endos on bmx but got on onza other day and no balance at all like a bally dancing hippo and my inner elbows aching like mad trying to lift up the bike either wrong technique or past it but I suppose practice makes perfect so they say.so I'm calling all riders in the Nottingham area for any tuition thanks in advance been watching some YouTube vids but hard to take it all in I need someone to tell me where I'm going wrong
