Doh!
Looks like you've got one 30mm and one 45mm, assuming you picked them up for the droplink nubbins and weren't paying attention/aware? Most had a 45mm bush and for most use you won't notice a difference. The smaller bushed variant is pretty hard to track down, though given the choice I'd love a set
You got it in one!
And generally thought that people would have the common sence to run matching lower arms on their cars
Think i'll just keep my eye out for the smaller bush arm. Did find some inserts to make mk2 arms take the smaller bushes, but at £100 they can go swivel!

Strictly speaking it's 1.5mm too high, but yep, on any IS mount frame a front adaptor will work on the rear with a 20mm smaller rotor.
if you slid the caliper back as far as you could in the frame mount, wouldnt it bring the caliper slightly down?

you know harness's are wank when you need to lean forward to check roundabouts/junctions for oncoming traffic?

Been an interesting car week.
Got new tyres on my freshly powder coated rims. Love it! Anthracite for Road, Red for Track.
Made some badass hub caps!
Hit 80k at 88 miles, nice.
Went to leave work today, got my keys out of my bag to find this...Ffs. Tried the key with plyers, turns out there must be a current running through the key from the fob for the immobiliser. Got the f**ker home though! It's times like these I wish I had a spare!
Next is the rear beam to go on and sort my tracking at the rear and hopefully a new key at the same time!
Cheers, Ash
if its anything like the golf's (the key looks exactly the same) theres a small immobiliser chip (looks like a pill) inside the keyfob.

"Live Fires" It's in quotation marks mate, i'll be a tv screen with a video of fire on it haha

got some seats today, much more side support.
drivers side bolster was knackered, so stripped both seats down, and fitted the one from the passenger seat:
Shes in (needs a clean!):
took it for a spin, lobbed it around the first corner, heard a massive bang :
Apparently bungie straps arn't great at holding sub's in, so i added more
and a scenic shot of the drive home:

done a little bit to my car recently.
drilled out the spare wheel hold down, one step closer to boot mount battery:
Also FIANLLY dug this out of the chassis rail, after it fell down the trunking for the fuel lines:
Also after ripping out the back seats to fit my bike in at the weekend, the seats felt like they weighed a ton, so i got them on the scales....
29KG!!!!

isnt this how you bed pads in?
(Stolen from Prawns build thread )
-
Are we advising a harsh bed in for stock OE discs and pads here?
Not sure how I feel about that.
I'm not suggesting it's wrong, it's how you should always bed in 'race' type pads, but I'm not sure it's the correct procedure for an OE road pad.
That's always been my opinion aswell (avoid heavy braking for the first 500 miles), and what i've been told by a couple of mechanics (who have probably been in the trade longer than i've been alive )

Best get cycling the pump on VCDS.
03, ABS.
04, Basic Settings.
Block 001.
Go.
havn't registerd my vcds yet
i did cycle the pump using a mates diagnostics system today inbetween bleeds.
the thing is i've driven it around for a week with the pedal feeling different each time, so im not sure if theres still air in the system, or it feels the way it does because its meant to be that way
-
That's fair enough. Yeah you're bedding them in wrong. You need to go on a motorway late at night and get them stupidly hot.
that wont get air out of the hydraulic system...
-
it is for standard pads/disks! done less than 100 miles on them. the brake bite feels amazing, its just air in the hydraulic system making the pedal feel shit...
-
Probably already boiled the fluid. Did you stop more than once?
new fluid, braking gently to bed the pads/disk in
Heaven forbid you need all that stopping power from your fire-breathing engine
old 280mm front disks were warped. for the price of 312mm disk/pads/calipers/carriers, made sence to upgrade.
You of all people have experienced people driving like knobs. cornwall is twice as bad, it pays to have decent brakes!

I assume hub nuts are lefty loose and not reverse?
I'd rather not spend ages tightening it up!
Cars looking awesome Prawn! I demand a lap in it at Curby, if you go! (Passenger of course)
Also remember undo them by pushing down, rarther than up. i undone mine by pulling up, the hub nut went completly loose, causing me to smack my arm on the wing, leaving an almighty bruise!

aluminium, it'll bend like cheese

I hope the actual text was grammatically correct.
knowing me, i doubt it
i think when telling someone they're dead to you, being gramatically correct isnt the highest priority

Have you dislocated your shoulder before?
I've done it 3 times, ended up having sugery because i destroyed the tendons, and it just kept poping out.
I'd suggest to take it easy and really go through the physiotherapy.
