Hey guys,
Whilst simply hopping on the front wheels, my forks folded then snapped (see picture below). As you could imagine I am pissed, I shudder to think what would have happened if I was going fast......
Okay, so moving on, I need a little guidance......
First off, I'm curious about what differences between a larger axle offset forks ( http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_forks/because_curved_blade_2013/c40p12036.html ) compared to a smaller offset or straight forks ( http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_forks/b1k3_eklipse_4bolt/c40p12695.html )
I can only imagine that there will be a slight difference in handling but am more curious in possible difference in strength.
Secondly, is this fork folding incident something to get used too? I have heard a few stories and have seen the odd video of forks folding on trials bicycles and am not sure if it is something i need to vigilant about.
Thoughts, facts and guidance are welcomed.
Cheers!
Reece.
