A little air has leaked by the ifp causing it to sag by a couple of mm but that's a pretty easy fix.

This is the issue everyone is having with the first generation of the reverb. Basically what happens is if it gets knocked side ways air leaks into the oil chamber and oil into the air causing the post to drop slightly. If the post was under 2 years old sram tech would replace it with a new one free of charge.

If you send your post back to them however for a service they replace the problematic piston inside with the new redesigned rubber one which is the only internal difference on the mk2.

Are they good for a full on trials bike ie echo. Or are they more of a street tyre. Can get a "24" fat Albert

Been fitting these to a few plus size kids 24" bikes at work recently.

They're fairly light and have a nice soft sidewall If I ever got another 24" I'd try one out.

Only thing to mention is clearance may be an issue

It hit me the other day I'm leaving college this year with shit grades in 2 A Levels and a BTEC I have no interest in pursuing, no idea what I want to do in life, no plan for after college, all my friends are viewing unis and looking into courses and I don't even know if I want to go or what the f*ck I want to do, am more than broke thanks to car and bike, the nearest people to me I actually want to go see are all a fair bit older than me and are getting on with their lives with full time jobs, girlfriends, uni, no time to ride/see each other, and I feel like I'm being left behind because all I have to do is ride my bike. Everyone around me's stopping riding and I feel like I've barely even started. Help. Drowning.

I'm 22, I have qualifications in Plumbing, joinery, surveying as well as pretty good grades in all my school subjects.

I'm currently working in a bike shop. Qualifications are not always necessary but they do help.

  4. I was fairly certain Barbara stepped down about 2/3 years ago when her husband sadly passed, the events where then taken over by Robin Morewood and co. A lot of people stopped riding the comps due to them being slightly narrow minded and throwing accusations among them selves that the sections where set up so younger riders could 'dab' around flags and accused them of cheating etc etc.

Anyway I believe that the tyke trail scene will die out for a while if I'm honest. The reason being, most of the people who used to compete are now of an age where they work and have other commitments and the younger generation of riders don't drive so struggle to make it to the events.

  5. Not sure how it would pan out with a drilled trials wheel but in the MTB world they've really taken off. I work in a high end cycle store and do around 10 sets of tubeless conversions a week.

You do still need to used sealant (stans or similar) you can use pretty much any rim as long as you and you tape it up really well. I had a customer in today who claims since going tubeless 3 years ago he's never had a puncture; which Is pretty good going.

Considering it only takes about 10/15 mins to do, I'd say it's definitely worth the effort

In more bike related news, I just can't get along with my 24. Forcing myself to do an hour an evening and it's helping me improve my stamina and balance again but I just get frustrated with how 'off'the bike feels. There's nothing bodged or rattly, but it just feels a bit dead.

Try a different bar/stem set up. Or even a different rear tyre. Soft sidewalls certainly liven things up

  7. After over 1 year off the bike I've built up another bike to get myself back into it. image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

    Spec:

    Onza Genesis Frame

    Rockman Spade (tapered steerer) Forks

    Onza Genesis front wheel

    rockman/bonz rear wheel

    tensile cranks

    mg1 pedals

    trial tech sport bars

    tensile stem

    hope type H headset

2004 Maguras (still with the original royal blood bleed)

    tri lite Coust pads

    jitsie booster clamps

Any particular accessories you are trying to shift? Or is it literally getting people to buy anything? How much room do you have to make use of?

We have copious amounts of space. My intentions are to get people to get there bikes serviced and show why its important to do so.
Our customer base is the family/leisure cyclists, as well as a few commuters who just ride the bike until it dies it's death and then spend another £89 on a new bike.
Its very rare that we get an enthusiast and when we do, they already know what the want before they enter the store.

Our typical customer: "My bike makes noises when I change gear, the bike is 5 years old and has never done this before."
Staff: "When where the chain and cassettes last changed?"
Customer: "What are they? its not had anything done to it so I don't know why it's started making noises."

From the above insight to our customers you can tell they aren't the brightest bunch.

My old LBS (Evolution Imports) had a King hub on a display with a cut out in the shell so you could see what was going on in where when you spun the freehub.

    That was cool.

We're not really a major cycle store so we don't really stock any top end parts, it is a great idea, i've seen a similar thing done with hope brakes but again we only really do the basic shimano/ avid stuff.

  9. I've been working at the local cycle store for a few months and have been given a task to help sell accessories with bikes.
I've been racking my brains on ways to showcase a few necessities.
So far I've made a display showing how tube sealant works, the customer can literally push a pin into the display, spin the wheel and be amazed by how quickly it seals, it looks great and works well and has boosted sales so I would like to do something similar but can't think of anything.

All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

  10. Aftershave is a good shout. Maybe a new wallet. Gift card for a shop he uses often for me it'd be tarty bikes/ the local motorbike store.

Any thing R/C is also very cool but that's just my opinion
