  1. I have probably snapped about 4 chains and bent god know how many chain rings. Once somehow my rear mech kind of turned back on it's self where the hanger had bent really badly, so i kind of ripped off what was left of it, shortened the chain and rode home haha what a nighmare! Good old merlin!!!!

  3. Really cool vid. This Jack Meek guy is a bit of a legend, he seems to know his stuff!
  4. Q. (Chav) Ere mate why don't you put some WD40 on your brakes to stop then squeaking? A. Um because then they wouldn't work you muppet!
  5. Thats exactly the same thing that has happened with me, i have been a member since july 2004 and was made a full member. I haven't used my account for two years because i went travelling and stopped riding. Im back now and want to get a new bike, then i find im a pre-member again. NIGHTMARE!!!!!
  6. Hey man, I used to run an XTR V brake with a cheap Avid lever, was an amazing brake. I personally feel that it was much better than any evo mount magura. I think the XTR brake is rather pricey brand new, but if you can find one second hand i really dont think you can go wrong. The V brake that i had has now been through 4 of my friends and its still going strong! In fact i think i might look around for another myself, i miss running a front V it was a much simpler time! lol
  7. Got some man size dents there lol! Really nice looking bike there though mate
  8. Cool little vid there buddy, nice bike! India must be amazing, do they have a trials scene at all over there? Cheers
  9. Anything giro man! I have a really old school Giro E2 and love it to bits, they seem to hold out really well.
  10. Really cool little video there man. Your a good rider!
  11. Aggghhhhh i need a bike now! Chuffed that there are so many Plymouth riders on the forum, ill be joining you lads shortly!
  12. Between me and my mate we have had three different merlin frames (even though they were advertised as the same bike) i garauntee you one of them was this frame. It may not look like it as it would be a perfect little dirt/jump frame hence the bike was a complete nightmare. I'm guessing merlin would just get cheap frames in and bang merlin stickers on them.
  13. Im almost certain it's a merlin, in fact i'd be willing to put money on it! Do you guys remember merlin? I dont know if there still around but they used to have a double page spread in MBUK, a merlin was my first proper trials bike and it was so so so bad, it was a nightmare! I full on cringed when i saw that photo haha.
  14. Oh yeah i remember that video, it was sick!!!!! Im sure i saw it on here, anybody have it?
  15. Quality man! Im getting back into riding myself, well nervous because i have a bad feeling i am gona be useless, i'll be getting a bike over the next couple of weeks. I have a couple of mates as well that have just started getting back into it and ride up copthorne a fair bit so im sure we'll see you around. What you riding?
  16. That was such a cool video man, how many people were at that london ride? Looked awesome!
  17. Thats soooo nice man, loving the green! I really wana have a go on one they look awesome to ride!
  18. Longlive the pashley!!!! I loved my pashley, which frame exactly was it? I think my mate still has mine somewhere its an old 26mhz in ivory, i could ask him if he still has it lying around if your interested?
  19. What an awesome topic! Me and my mates when we were younger used to bodge just about everything beacuse we never had any money, 10 quid a week from a paper round does not support a dream steed! I have: Wrapped paper around my seat post and jammed it into the seat tube just because i wanted a mini trials sadle Standard bodge a bolt through the dodgy magura leverI've tried tying my rear mech to the downtube with a bit of string to make it single speed,I also used to rub parcel tape on my rim because i couldn't get hold of tar (what a nightmare that was)Also when i was running bent chainrings i kept snaping my chain but ofcorse i couldn't replace the chain so i would push my bike everywhere (like i was on a scooter) and attempt to ride with no chain, complete disaster!!!!!
  20. Ah i see! Nice one, cheers buddy!
  21. Hi guys, i haven't been riding for the last 2/3 years as i have been off travelling. Now im back in the country i've decided to get back into riding as i miss it sooooo much, only problem is is im completely confused with whats what at the moment, it really is incredible just how much trials has evolved over the last couple of years. I want a stock, something fairly long and im looking to spent around 400 if i can get the bunse together! I've been looking at a onza limey on ebay which looks like a pretty sound build, i wouldnt usually go for an onza but it looks like a pretty good ride. I haven't seen too many of these limeys around on the forum so guessing either its rare or its just not that popular. Could you guys give me your thoughts on the limey? Is it a steel? Cheers guys
  22. Hi guys my names Tom im 20! I probably started riding trials when i was about 15ish. I've basically been travelling for about the last 2 years and before i left the country i made a massive school boy error in selling my steed to add to my travelling funds! Meaning that i am now bikeless and far too jealous of my mates who are all out getting back into riding again! I'm looking to pick up a nice long stock build on the forum within the next couple of weeks, sooooooooo excited about riding again!!!!!!
  23. Making a trials bike out of a BMX would be a complete error man! Im sure if you ask around on the forum there will be plenty of guys with a shed load of cheap starter gear going, i think you would be surprised at just how cheap you could gather something together!
  24. I'm not even gona get started on this subject!!!!!!!
  25. When i was still in school me and my best buddy used to ride trials near enough everyday and we never once really appreciated just how much it keeps you fit. First of all my mate quit then i did shortly after and we are now the biggest nackers, its ridiculous! I really miss doing something that you really enjoy and that keeps you fit without yourself really noticing, which is exactly why im gona get back on that bike again!! cheers
