  1. You could PM joe maher, as he IS carbonique. see if he has one lying around or whatever.
  2. Bigman reminds me soooo much of my mate Jonas.
  3. I was gonna, but I couldn't be arsed. They'll look like shit in a short while I figured.
  4. I believe he updated the link. The MG-1 are specified between 350g and 390g depending on who asks.. Tryall are lighest of course, at 350.
  5. Rained today. Rode today. Was OK. Been raining far too much this summer. Gothenburg is not flooded, thankfully.

    Gears!

Road mechs are optimal for trials bikes. I used a Shimano Tiagra. It was OK. Some people used Dura Ace mechs some years back. Expensive but pretty and light. So yeah, short cage road mechs are great. The cassette cogs are so small, and in combination with only using a single small sprocket up front, you can get away with a short cage mech. You can lock it out too by removing the spring around the bolt that mounts it on the derailleur hanger, which prevents the mech from banging on the frame, while still shifting gears well. Removing the spring on a Tiagra mech (probably very similar to all other ones) is done by first removing the C-clip on the back of the main bolt (the one that mounts the mech to the hanger). then remove the spring washer thingy, and then remove the spring. Bolt the mech to the hanger with the spring washer thingy on, but not the C-clip. Voila.
  7. NC-17 MG = Echo Mag = Hognesium = Tryall Magnesium = Wellgo MG-1. Cheapeast I've seen is from Alan's bmx at 40 quid a pair... Avaliable in white too, if you're gay enough to use painted pedals.
  8. This is illegal though, just so you know. Aspire did it with my king hub as they always do. It's dodgy, but aspire sent it in a MASSIVE box and bag so it was pretty damn hard to lose. Also, just declaring it as a gift might not help. Being sure to not include a price tag or a receipt, and declaring the value LOW works. I ordered some guitar parts, they were a dollar worth of commercial samples.

    Speedtest.net

Gained another mbit from somewhere. Ha ha. My internet connection is so fast because I live in a student flat complex on uni campus. We are hooked straight up to the SUNET (swedish university network thing) which is mega fast. My building pretty much rapes all the SUNET gothenburg bandwidth, which is why we have a cap at 15gb of traffic a day.

It leaves an ideal surface to paint. Degrease it and it's minted. Just like acid-dipping before spraying, but with caustic soda..

I haven't got a clue about what strength I used. Mixed a bit with some water. If nothing happens, pour more of the granulate in there until it fizzes nicely.
  12. Onza Smartguy, if they're still avaliable. So strong..

    Speedtest.net

It's my home connection, and I pay a tenner per month for it. Though it has a 15gb cap. Daily.

Yeah it does. It's fierce as f**k. And I bet Vincey Pie showers his bike in caustic soda after every ride.
  15. First try putting another cog on the frehub. Then wrap chain whips around both cogs and try to twist them off. If that doesn't work, try with more force. If that doesn't work either, you might have to get the file out. It's what I did with my DT Hügi hub a few years ago, I filed the freehub body next to the cog. I filed the little ridges off that had formed due to the cog digging in. A bit of violence and filing got the cog off every time. It's not very good for the freehub, but beggars can't be choosers...
  16. The thing with most hairspray is that it is not very water resistant. So when water comes inside the grip they slip again. As I posted earlier I prefer clean bar and clean grip, but some kind of alcohol also works wonders. I used Isopropanol, but I'm sure Vodka or whatever is fine.
  17. Maybe time to get some decent forks instead of changing the brake? I've had my Smartguys for over 2 years i believe...

Stripping anodising is pretty fun though. Loads of cool smoke, fizzy bubbles and suddently the caustic soda mix turns the colour you're stripping off the component. Wouldn't breathe in the smoke, or get any of the caustic soda on me, especially after seeing what it did to my rims, colour just ran off like it was water-based paint.

If they're painted - yes. If they're anodised - use caustic soda (dodgy stuff, be careful).
  20. Splash screens (clock here to continue etc) on websites really, really piss me off.
  21. Lock-on grips are horrible for trials. You wear through to the plastic core and then the little tabs that go into the metal lockrings snap off. I use normal grips on a CLEAN bar, with the lock-on rings on either side. Grips don't go anywhere this way.
  22. Bastards, bought a "new" one just a few days ago. Meh, it'll be fine. New colour looks tacky. jammy: I think that problem is common with every disc brake system. Also, no caps needed, mate.
  23. Doesn't Tic still ride his Megamo radical mod with a magura on the back?
