Thats the beast of the east frame, I think later after that Aston was riding a much more trials orientated frame. I have loads of pics in an old MBUK mag, but I do not think Canondale ever made the frame he actually rode with the better geometry?

Just found this pic of the frame I am thinking of, looks like it has much more clearance than the one that was posted before.

Ebay is great until you have a problem and they then become plain sh*te to deal with

  3. He had a section in a BMX vid a few years back I am sure. From what I remember his riding in that was sick, really smooth and so much style

Edit, he is in this video as well, ive not seen his part in this though

  4. Yeh, I have a 203 and a 180 rotor lieing around so wouldn't have to buy one. It does not say on their website what caliper it is. Say it is a caliper for a 160mm rotor, the koxx forks are +30mm that means you would have to run 190mm?

So I am thinking buy it, get the hope adaptor to run a 160mm caliper on a 180mm rotor and I have a new brake for 80 quid?

Is there logic in this or am I miles out? The only stumbling block I can see is wether or not the Kox forks are +10 or +30?

  5. Hi Guys,

After some advice, I just noticed that bikedock are selling brand new Hope Mono trials front brakes for £70!! Catch is they are the Koxx 190mm rotor standard. This got me thinking, I am using Echo forks which as far as I know have a standard size IS spacing.

Does anyone know of an easy way to make this Koxx brake fit a 185mm rotor for my bike? I am unsure as to whether this has a custom caliper or not on the brake.

    Thanks

  6. Right, so I used to ride trials years ago and had a Leeson Clear 660 frame. After a few years break I decided to break it out of the garage and get back into riding - which I did. I then decided to try a more modern frame and I have decided I aint to keen. I currently have a Bionic B1 frame, I am after a replacement. Basically I want a 26" frame with slightly more modern geo but that still looks like a traditional frame with the ability to have a normal seat.

I really like the look of the inspired bikes frame but don't want to have to bother with the 24" wheels. Is there anyone making something along those lines but for 26" wheels? I have been looking at the Yaabaa 799 but that is out of stock at Tarty bikes and also has horizontal dropouts (I would prefer Vertical).

Anyone got any ideas? I've seen the Marino bikes but don't know if I can be bothered with all the customisations, I think something off the shelf is more suitable for me.

    Thanks Mike

  7. Yeah, like adam said, its not a big job, I've had countless DH frames where the properly dished wheel does not sit in the frame straight so a decent wheel builder has just had to pull it over a touch to one side. I wouldnt bother trying to do it yourself if you have no experience building wheels, a good bike shop wont charge you much anyway.

  8. So i recently bought myself a set of plazmatics with the cnc backings. Up to this point I have always had shimanoe pads in my V's, I never really thought of this when I orded but due to the depth of the plaz pads(The brake pad itself along with the cnc backing) the arms on my XTR brake are now stuck out silly far. Im running a 43mm rim which doesnt help. Any one else had this issue? I keep catching my ankle on the brake arms which is getting really annoying!

  9. look anything like mine?:P

vee's are quiet anyway in my experience (on the rear anyways)...except when riding backwards :S

anyway- good pads i've found are heatsink reds (wear fast on a grind though- on a vee), phat pads (last forever), and onza citrus (disappear on a grind, but really pretty damn good on smooth!)

get those pics up, i don't think i've seen another b1 frame on here!

What handlebars are you running? Ive got a set of sunlines on mine and I think they are bit low, only a 1 inch rise or something, I feel really over the front wheel which I dont like lol. Yours seem to have a nice up sweep to them
