Oh bum hole. Cheers any way. Oh i looked on the curtis website.......not what i was expecting i may have to rethink the whole design of the jig. Oh well it will be worth it as it will be a killer frame. hopefully.

Hmmm, the tubes heat up and the geo changes, but then they cool down and go almost exactly back to where they were before, so I dont really know what you're worried about. Bearing in mind that you can run a ring of weld around a 1" tube in one go with an arc welder, and still be able to pick it up about 4 inches back from the weld when you're done, it doesnt get *that* hot anyway.
Large bits of box section make good jigs, wood works in large enough sections but will always be changing its dimensions depending on air humidity.
Have a look on curtis' website, there's a few good shots of their jig, there are also some decent pics on goatbike's site.
Oh right i was led to belive that it changed and stayed in that new angle. and whats goatbikes website if you dont mind. And i will take a look at curtis's site in the meanwhile. thanks :lol:

right'o here we go.
im thinking of make a frame. I have all materials and tools avaliable to use at very minimal costs so thats not a problem. My problem is when welding a frame the metal heats up and expands making the geomatry wrong instantly. I was thinking of building a wooden frame for the tubes to fit in. Would the wood be rigid enough for the task or would it not be any good. If not is there any other material i could use, cheapest as possible. Oh it will proberly be made out of steel. mabye ally but more likely not.
any advise from frame builders ect would be greatly appriciated and also any hints and tips would be good as well.

A 9ft wheelyhop gap across crates. Only lankyricky saw it but he can vouch for me. It was totally random but was wicked.

I fell off a 5ft wall when i miss aimed the gap and shot over the bars. Landed on my face and knock my self out. In the process i kick myself in the back of the head and was left with a mother of all cuts. I had a scab running from my right eyebrow, down the whole side of my face over my mouth and onto my chin. Basiclly my right side of my face was a scab.
P.S, It was dam tasty
mine was when i did a manual to 35ft drop off . My breaks also failed and i landed straight on my head i broke my ribs in two places and wasn't able to ride for 11months.
Now that is fuc*ing ganster. :( Stack of the forum.

The EX721 is 26mm i think. To get the bashring off, put the bash in a vice with the arm pointing up the wack it anti-clockwise with a big hammer, thats how i did it anyway. >_<
Well to get my bas of i had to cut a section out and repeatedly smack it against a metal rail to get it off. thats excluding the 3 hours spent before that using a vice and hammer. Gd luck.

well the way i find easiest ot do these is to ride just a little bit faster than walking pace the pull on the bars more than u would for a normal bunnyhop. when they get quite high jump and push the bars up in front of you a bit. as they go forwards they naturally move the bike to a more vertical position.
all you have to do now is keep a hold of the brake and bend your knees as you land. when your on the wall on your back wheel you need to bend your knees a bit more and pull on the bars as you bend them, this will start to make the bike lean backwards. as it starts getting to the point where you think your going over jump backwards and push your bars towards your ankles a little, this will level the wheels out and will let you fakie away.
if you find it hard to keep on the back wheel enough to pull backwards once you on the wall, a little tip is to ride a little bit faster and jump earlier this should giv your bike a little more time to move to a vertical position before you land. only thing with doing it faster is you also need to lean back more and bend your knees more when you land.
if you go out and try this you should get it pretty quickly as its not all that hard to do. hope it helps. :D

How do you guys usually cut your cable outers? I don't have any housing cutters (or good cable cutters for that matter...) but are there any other methods? I thought maybe a hacksaw but im worried ill splay it out so i cant fit the end cap onto it, and it runs rough.

If it does go pear shaped using the hack saw then get some sand paper and plyers (excuse spelling) and make it fit. An Angle grinder might work never done it but if your desperate then anythings worth ago isnt it?
