  1. Get a set of these instead of torchy - http://batterybro.com/blogs/18650-wholesale-battery-reviews/57179459-lg-hg2-review-20a-3000mah

They are my next purchase, not from that website obviously but they offer info and reviews on most 18650 batteries.

Whatever batteries you choose make sure they are high drain, 20A or more. Especially if you are sub-ohming.

well stop doing that! They're only over priced re-wraps of something you can get cheaper! And here again with the lghg2's, best there is at the moment and at £14 tops for a pair you can't go wrong.

*assumed you meant buying own brand :S

Cheers for the advice guys. The LG HG2's look like they are 20A, some sites are saying they are 20/30A and I don't really understand why.

Found some here but how do you know these are genuine or not?

Batteries seem to be a minefield.

  2. @Ash-Kennard

Bellus can be single coil too ;)

Everyone has tried the goblin mini :giggle: I left my views on it a few posts back for familybiker

Get a nice regulated device (and some decent batteries!) Would be my advice.

Yeah I read that. But I will probably run it as twin coil for a while to see how good it is.

Ill have a look back now then.

Could you link me to some decent examples please. What kind of Wattage range am I looking at? My egrip only goes up to 30, with about 1.1-3 ohm but has been fine. No idea what to look for to be honest. What kind of money should I look to spend if I plan to use this as an everyday device?

  3. Hey ash

    http://brokevapers.com/smy-sdna-200-tc-box-mod/

    With either

    http://cambridgevaping.co.uk/steam-crave-aromamizer-rdta-3ml-sc200s.html

    Or maybe

    http://www.ecigclick.co.uk/youde-ud-bellus-rta-tank-preview/

Well, that's my next purchase anyway :giggle:

I do believe mapplin do higher w/ph battery packs that'll fit an egrip.. if I've read the chatter right ;)

Cheers! The Bellus system looks immense! I really like the design of how it all goes together. How long is the lead time? Never looked at a twin coil set up, I assume it will rise batteries twice as fast as they are in parallel?

    Anyone tried this?

Also battery tanks. How bloody expensive are these! WTF. Not sure I can justify the cost on them. Does the battery box really matter? Or is it just the quality of the batteries?

These are the batteries I currently have Torchy 18500 so it looks like I will need another size anyway as most box mods seem to take 18650

    Cheers, Ash

  4. I don't think the mod is going to make much of a difference to battery life. It's more down to your batteries and coil resistance.

    What batteries are you using?

Hi JT! I am currently using this

It does not disassemble, therefore no battery choice. I've got some decent batteries and a charger though from when I was using a different mod.

  5. still wondering what kind of flavourings you guys use that its 15% of the liquid youve made in the above example.

didnt even find a flavour yet that recommends more than 5% on its label

    edit:and i am a self-mixer since 2014

I use clasikool flavouring but would it not depend on the vg/ppg ratios to how much flavouring you use? I'm no expert I've only been making my own for the last few months.

I use 15% for all flavours I make, been doing it a fair while now and that suits my device just fine. Started with 20%, seemed overkill, went to 10%, not enough. Settled on 15%. I suppose PG/VG ratio comes into it somewhat, but with the flavourings often coming in 100% PG liquid, I would assume a higher PG ratio will give a stronger flavour. We shall see, I may move it back to 12% if 60/40 proves to be too intense.

I use the chefsvapour products mostly, but have tried other stuff in the past.

If I were to make something elaborate again, I would start 50/50 15% overall and 10ml. But because I now mix in bulk flavour and decant into 30ml at a time, I can make any mix I want. Using the same ratios and overall flavourings means I just have to control the amount I put into the 30ml dropper bottle.

I am after some advice for a decent box mod battery pack. I am starting to get irritated that my device does not last a full day vaping. However, I still want something that fits reasonably into a pocket. Any recommendations? With that in mind, I will probably also be getting a new atomiser too, But am a bit out of touch, everything has moved on so much since I first started looking.

    Cheers, Ash

  6. The way that ramp has snapped is pretty scary - has it gone over time or was it a pretty instantaneous break? Not while you were under there I hope?!

Just sorted out insurance for another year - great service from Greenlight again. Had a decent chat to Neil about all sorts of petrohead shit whilst getting it sorted and goo to go for another year. Bingo :)

How much are you paying through Greenlight Luke? I need to sort mine out now.

  7. Been busy tonight. Made 500ml of eliquid.

Strawberry, Cheesecake, Butterscotch, Rainbow Sherbet and Vanilla Cupcake.

Can't wait for these bad boys to steep. 100ml each should take about 2 week I reckon with the lids off and a shake a day.

Speaking of rewicking techniques, this is how I do it when its been 2 weeks odd:

    Old Coil Pack out

    Filthy horrible shite:

    20151030_195429_zpsj3i3ckjo.jpg

    Cylinder off

    20151030_195432_zps8mxm0zap.jpg

Cut ends of old wick and pull out:

    20151030_195552_zpsxkxqleww.jpg

Fit into adapter and old mechanical Mod:

    Spark it up:

    20151030_195701_zpsij6ktmur.jpg

Dip into water stream whilst ignited and watch the shit come off to how a coil should look:

    Pull off some cotton wool:

Roll an end and feed it through:

    20151030_200158_zpsqv4cvrot.jpg

    Cylinder back on:

    20151030_200312_zpsfwyl7zr1.jpg

    Cut to final length:

    20151030_200342_zpsknbegq6y.jpg

Split either end in to two (4 Feed Holes):

    20151030_200423_zpsjnsvxa8h.jpg

Use a scalpel to poke each end to cover each of the 4 feed holes, should look like this at the end:

    20151030_200708_zpsikqlezxh.jpg

Notice that the feed hole on the cylinder is now white:

    20151030_200800_zpscvvhfrjv.jpg

Drip eliquid onto wick and ignite a few times:

    20151030_195104_zpsy7vi3dun.jpg

    Cap on:

    20151030_200816_zpsm1rxwab8.jpg

Remove from Old mod and adapter:

    20151030_200829_zpsfdrzv3rn.jpg

It now ready to be installed and used. I have 2 of these coil packs so just keep one ready to install (Minus fluid) and replace as and when. I then have 2 weeks to complete this process for the spare.

Covering the holes ensures no leaks. Be sure to clean each component on a regular basis. I tend to use an ultrasonic cleaner, but can be done with alcohol on a wipe. Can also keep a coil going for a surprisingly long time if you look after it.

I am happy with how the eGrip is performing, using the coil packs makes a MASSIVE difference to the performance of the unit. It just takes some getting used to as everything is tiny and fiddly.

    Cheers, Ash

  8. Missus needs a new car. Something around 1.0l - 1.2l, not huge miles, it'll just be a run around for work and popping around for leisure.

She hasn't passed her test yet (test next week) so needs to be cheap on the old insurance. Around £2.5k budget.

I suggested Ford Fiesta (around 2008 era), but insurance can be steep. She suggested Citreon C1/C2 and they're low insurance group but I'm unsure about reliability (basing this on the saxos).

Any suggestions? If we go for Citreon is there something we should look out for, common faults/problems?

My missus nd I did the same thing, ended up with an 06 swift (£1800), been a cracking car so far. And has saved me in terms of commuting due to the leon issues...
