  1. I'm in Daventry not to far away about 15 mins. I'm the only rider though :(, there are two from Banbury look for him on this he's called Steve@Banbury trials.

Cool, will get in touch with him. I'm up for hitting up Daventry too, seems like an easy drive from Banbury :)

We will be riding northhampton soon mate, whats your number ill drop you a text.

My number is 07595661617 (Y) Think I have rode with a few Burton riders in Bristol and Birmingham.

Yes mate! I live in Leamington!

Woop Woop! Il be in touch soon Andy, be good to see you. Are you not at Loughborough anymore? Your only 30 mins drive away so we will get some regular riding in mate :D

  2. Wahey, Nice one Dan. Good to see plenty of the spots in Worcester I usually bump into you at. I thought some of the shots were really nice and has given me some ideas for flatland shots in a trials video :)

  3. By the sounds of it all, it doesn't sound as malicous as it was quite first made out. Also knowing a few of them guys and Lazenby in particular there probably just messing around. Besides the point though, throwing his front wheel into a road and tampering with his bike is a twatish thing to do. It might seem funny but actually think about it.... There is really no need for it! Grow up.

  4. theres no need for this. would you like it i was to post all your details up no didnt think so.

Agree with Kyle on this one, Dan has well and truly messed some people around and there is no excuse for it. However to publicly put his details on an internet forum used by 100's/1000's of people is crossing the line.

  5. thanks danny! thats a really nice bike of yours!

those are really useful pictures and info, now i am even more confident of doing my order real soon!

i was looking at the custom frame order sheet and have some questions which i need help at.. basically i am looking to get a 26" street trial with seat with a balanced geometry.. looking to forward my style to those of Ryan leech just that i do not wan a suspension fork..

    1. i would be running hs33 so what should my brake mounts spacing be? supposely my rear wheel allowance i might want up to 2.7 thick..

    2. I have no idea for my dropouts, spacing and and axle..

    3. whats a good geometry for a bike which are balanced in doing street and trails?

    4. Any extra specs which i need to specifiy?

    5. can i ask for an attachment for a connection for a RD hangerer in case i wanna run gears?

thanks again for all help! this is really appreciated guys!

Well firstly check out some different geometry's on frames out there, here is a good link to check out some older trials frames geometry more 'street orientated'; LINK

For HS33 spacing, it depends what rim you intend to use. I have mine at 95mm because I run the PhatWorks CNC Magura backings which are thinner then normal, this gives me much more adjustment when setting my brake up. So if you were to use a thin rim like a Mavic you could have the spacing smaller. With wide rims and standard pad sizing you want anywhere between 100 - 120mm I would guess but again worth doing some research into this based on other frames out there.

Dropouts - up to you really depending on your setup. If your running a standard rear hub it will be 135mm spacing. Depending on how your tensioning your chain will dictate whether you use vertical or horizontal drop outs.

Anything additional you want on there (like hollowed head tube for example) just specify on the form

If you have a vertical dropouts it will have a mech hanger on there :)

If you need to discuss any details further just drop Marino an email; marino@marinobike.com

    Cheers

  6. Hi guys, I've just moved to headington in Oxford does anyone ride around there? I'd been really keen to join in on a ride this weekend if there is one going!

I used to live in Botley, there a few riders around the area. Stoozie on here works in Headington and reguarly rides in Oxford. Max Hunt (Quackers/The Duck on here) is from Abingdon, not sure if he is still riding though... Sam Wheeler lives in Woodstock but rides BMX now. Jack Meek, Nick Goddard, Adam Bessel and Chris Hinson used to be Oxford regulars so may be worth giving them a shout too.

I work in Chipping Norton which is about a 30 minutes drive from Oxford so I do occasionally pop into the city for a ride after work, however I live in Worcester so it's a bit of a mission going home late especially with work the next day so Friday's is preffered.

Anyway, yer I am up for Oxford one weekend. Get a date and time confirmed (Y)

  7. The Marino's are definately something to consider. Given the price they are excellent for experimenting with geometry. Also things can be modified during the build, nothing is set in stone when you have decided on your desired geometry. You will get numerous photo updates on your frame during the construction process. For example here is some of mine:

I have started to give mine a good bashing now and its absolutely solid :)

  8. It's all fun. I just do what I feel on the day rather then what I prefer to ride week in, week out. Just a shame that rocks are only accessible to me on weekends with at least an hour or so drive, but again part of the enjoyment; travelling :)

  9. It depends what your after in a front brake ultimately. Both setups can get the desired result; the disc has the advantage that when setup correctly can offer plenty of bite and 'on/off' power, but still have plenty of modulation right out of the box. The HS33 can take some experimentation with pads, boosters, rim surfaces etc to get what you want.

For a front HS33 I used black pads on a smooth rim, this is mostly because I like to do a lot of front wheel moves that require a good modulating brake, yet I still get good lock/hold for moves like ups and gaps to front wheel. I have run Phat Pads and Plaz pads on the front too and just found them a touch OTT for my personal preference, however I know that some people would love them setups.

Right now I have a Vee brake with standard pads on and it's great, however I am borrowing some Shimano XTR arms off of a mate and they have a parralel push system that makes it very very spongy. When I have fixed my HS33 I will probably go back to using that as it was spot on rather then playing around with Vee setups.

  10. I used to ride with them back in the day (well I say ride, it was more look on in awe as I had only just started :D ), I understand mike and rich have still got bikes and occasinally ride :)

Tis ok for riding I supose, I need to start looking for more spots as my usuals are getting a bit stale. Youre welcome to come up any time though, just let us know :)

hehe, well Mikey Fox may come out after he finishes work at mid-day he will give me a bell. Maybe some of the other guys out too. Looks to be a good turnout. Me and Grant will be at New Street for 10.45 ish. Kyle (Livesy) are you out at all Bud?

  11. It's nice to see him just riding naturally; just riding and messing about on some walls, taking a few goes to get something. As opposed to a fully edited video with the best moves and shots etc. Worth a watch, thanks for sharing.
