  1. they just get in the way where i ride. but most of them watch. had a few asking how do u do that???
  2. i found some trials biking pictures of when i was a lot younger of which all i could do was drop! havent dropped as big as this, after getting back into trials (on a proper bike!) heres the link: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v739/stu...trials%20biker/
  3. are all these numbers backed up with a tape measure?
  4. on the topic of helmets? what helmets have you guys got? do you wear pisspots or normal helmets? (dont really care what brand) just what looks better when riding trials?
  5. im fed up of people asking which "component" is better than "component made by someone else" if something wasnt manufactured so that it is "fit for purpose" then they wouldnt sell it! im saying that just because one company charges more for its products doesnt mean its the best! lots of people have no problems with these products (the cheaper products) and the only reason why people spend more money on things is because they have been fooled into the product being massively improved over the cheaper product! the reason id buy more expensive products eg middleburn cranks is because of the warranty they supply. but FANBOYS big up names. eg Onza makes crap cranks compared to echo that quote tells me that they cant fit cranks (name removed) onza are heavier? well i dont think that can justify them being rubbish can it? heavier can also mean stronger. people should think about better reasons that one product is better than the other. apart from the obvious (actual breakages)
  6. the only reason why the threads are knackering is because you aren't using the tools correctly! to remove a crank- every thread on the crank much be filled by the crank puller when fitting any thread make sure its straight as not to damage the thread by cross threading. if you have problems fitting/removing things then get someone more technically minded to help/do it for you. if you cant do that the local bike shop will surely fit/remove things for you, at a cost!
  7. £80? find a mate with a carrera fury and have the stem, grips, front wheel and tyre, and front tektro auriga disc brake for the cost of £10 an a front hs33
  8. ive been revising too, cos my back fupping hurts so much. although ive been riding an it only hurts when i pedal hop so ive watched lots of trials vids!!
  9. i ride when i can. fitting it in around watching my name is earl, pains in my back and having places to ride! i also refrain from riding at night (well late, cos of my quiet grind making riding really quiet!!)
  10. well actually 22/18 is 1.22222 (larger number=harder gearing) its basically granny and 4th gear on the back. i find it works perfect. a lot better than 22 16 that came with the bike! im gettin new cranks that come with a 22 so i dont think i can be bothered to change what feels right to me!
  11. i dont understand 'miss limo' does that mean we vote for the one that looks most like a limo? or one that we'd like to do in the limo?
  12. i still use a mech and hanger for singlespeed but im careful with it and also i have a cheap mech but it still fits the fat chain i have through. cheap=good cos all im using is tension (with a short bit of cable in) and can adjust with the cable tension on the mech (so if i do bend the hanger i can bend it back then adjust the mech so i can still ride-as well as having spare mech hangers with me!!)
  13. what happens if i break it? that means i cant ride anymore............
  14. ive had both isis and square taper go wrong on me but then again when i got isis it was very cheap isis stuff. gonna put my burns and new bb on tomorrow so as long as they go on tight ill love it but isis it better than square taper for trials cos of the power u put in!
  15. the levers are made from aluminium so no they wont rust. if your going to strip it make sure u dont get it on the seals for the piston as the rubber can corrode. id reccommend painting afterwards anyway so the aluminium doesnt go white (although if you painted it with clear laquer with bare metal then polished it really well i reckon they'd look sweet!)
  16. for your height get a 20". then try a 26" when you have progressed into trials. and then decide which you preferred then pick from there which way you want to go from there!
  17. old skool merlin with hs33s an d521s and a 9 speed road block. was shit at trials, just wheelied about a lot. then 2 years later got a car and stopped riding for 2 years. now im on a highly upgraded t-rex an now im gettin pretty good
  18. masturbating computer games getting drunk gettin off with randoms passing out sleeping masturbating (in that order)
  19. dont put a grind or tar on the front otherwise you will flip over the handlebars! get a disc for the front, trust me any decent hydraulic or a BB7 cable will be much better for the front!
  20. i run 22x18 an so does my mate an he is really good. im still gettin into it again so i think it works for me anyway!
  21. you sound exactly like me! i used to ride everyday on an old skool merlin then as soon as i passed (nearly 2 years ago) an now im at uni theres nothing to do but trials so i got a new bike an im hopping around like i used2! ive got a t-rex 2nd hand for £200 an now ive got it top spec with upgrading over time(worth over £1000) an ive only spent abput £500 in total try and find some good 2nd hand bikes too !!
  22. snapped a frame jumping and decided to take up a safer sport built a frame up but never really got into it then found out a mate i work with was into it an i said that i wana build a bike up (sed £600) an 2mins later he got a txt saying one of his mates bikes for sale so i bought it for 200 an in total ive spent 480 an now im getting onto stuff i never thought id be able to do im goin riding in a bit!....
  23. if you can try a different spot. change components/new bike(i always get excited bout new things). find something boring to do then think about how much better riding is (e.g. working!)
