  2. Always (Y)

Ive had all kinds of pricks approach me while ive been out riding, but without a doubt the biggest nobs are the other cyclists that take the piss out of me for wearing a helmet <_< You would think that of al people they would understand the need for it.

Its not even about being good enough to not crash or knowing how to bail or whatever. Parts fail unpredictably, especially in trials, ive had chain snaps, bar snaps, freewheels explode, and brakes slip. None of that you could predict and the helmet makes ALL the difference.

  3. Continuing the German theme

Philip.

    And in English

    Philip.

If you listened to a single word I said when you questioned the giant tools at the weekend you would know that Chris is a mechanic.

If you want him to have a look at it ask me, or i can give you his number and he will probably diagnose it over the phone for you.

Also any parts you need I can get at trade price

  4. I wouldn't bother selling anything to a blacklisted trader. The way i see it they have ripped someone else off by not sending them parts or whatever, so why should you do them a favour and sell them something for cheap.

Lockring came undone :S One of the pawls is MIA and another has snapped at the pivot. Boy am i glad they are caged bearings! Thumbs up to whoever made that decision back at the factory.

Put it back together and it works okay, but i'm scared for my face as at two of the engagement points it will only be engaging on one pawl :(

I'm not going to bash it yet though, up until today it was spot on and the best freewheel I have owned.

I just noticed at Tarty it says full range of spares available soon, so worst comes to the worst i can try something else (Eno maybe?) and then fix it when spares are available. I'll happily try another Tensile as this shouldn't of happened, but would be reluctant if I am expected to pay full price. I guess I will have till Tuesday to see.

Edit: I just wanted to add that people shouldn't let this put them off buying one. As it shouldn't have happened because the with the lockring design it should always be tightening itself, so i wouldn't expect anyone else to have the same problem. I know what the TF rumor mill can be like sometimes

  6. I measured mine against my friends tmag and the wheelbase was bang on the same. Mines a standard 221pr full build and his is a tmag with echo team forks. Not that WB really matters too much.

I find the monty much nice to ride as the front end on his tmag is super low, well over an inch lower than mine. But i don't know if thats just his mag or all of them? He is running a zoo stem and echo flat bars which i guess don't help.

Try to get a ride on both if you can, i could instantly tell which i prefered

  7. I swear if all the trials forum wow kids had to ride our first bikes from 8 years ago, 95% of them would give up....

Im sure they would, hell thats part of the reason i gave up the first time round. Things just wernt as fun on the 17" Kona! But atleast with the old school bikes you only needed to own one bike, which you could do everything thing on thanks to a good range of gears and front suspension! I would like to see someone try a bit of DH on a trials bike nowadays
