  1. 15th march? Just hope it's warm by then I also think limiting it to 1 minute would be more than enough, 2 minutes of riding on a 5" wall is pushing it. We want it to be interesting, not tedious.
  2. i'm going to go to mcdonalds as i usually do on wednesdays. with my mate.
  3. Half an inch sounds almost like 1 cross too little. It depends on the flange diameter though, not every hub can be laced to 4x as I understand. Measure the ERD of both the rims, that should give you an idea about where the problem lies.
  4. I'd be really suprised if they cost more than 60 dollars from Deng. edit: just read through the thread, do you people really think that Deng has anything to do with the prices on Tartybikes? If so, why should we get most of the parts half price in Poland? Silly...
  5. I don't think it's a good idea for trials where you need to move your ankles a lot, looks like it was designed with freeride/4x in mind.
  6. +20 USD for express post, sent on Friday, arrived in London on Monday with no duty to pay. They enter a value of $10 for each hub in the customs form, at least that's how it was in my case although I didn't ask for it.
  7. just explain to him that the king is a very poor hub worth 20 quid, then buy it off him.
  8. Isn't he now sponsored by Monty? He's the 1st and only person who ever influenced my decision about what bike to get. Superb rider.
  9. Meh, he wants to try a different frame geometry and not only go dual disc. So making an adapter wouldn't solve everything. You could get a 16T freewheel on the rear and some larger cranks but it looks like you don't want to change yours. So it's either a Profile or a King with incorrect rotor alignment. So be it a Profile. I'm sure you can get them from the USA, prices will be much lower including shipping as well. I think the Cassette costs 170 dollars over there? edit: if you want something temporary, search for "kore hoochie bmx disc hubs"
  10. Forgot the name for this stuff so here's a pic. It's perfect when it comes to reflecting heat. Best example is when you touch it, you feel it's warm although it's actually the heat from your hand that's bouncing off. If one could somehow put a thin layer of this on a lever blade it would solve the problem completely.
  11. Ok then. Compared both the cameras, used exactly the same settings, white balance and all that. The one thing that really annoyed me in the HDV model was that it doesn't have manual shutter speed adjustment. At least the shutter speed seems to increase automatically with better lighting conditions so it's ok for sports in daylight. To me it's pretty obvious which camera produces a better image, what do you think? HC1000 --------- HC3 shooting in DV
  12. Awesome for UCI riding and absolutely shit for comp riding. Doesn't make too much sense to me. The best UCI riders in the world ride frames with 0-20mm rise.
  13. Front or rear? You'll find a lot on rear discs if you hit the search button. A front disc basically gives you more modulation and quiet braking which is the greatest advantage, however Magura's are lighter, more powerful when properly set up and cheaper.
  14. It is a personal preference but most people dislike high rise. It's fine for a month or two but then it just gets annoying. I've passed the stage of wanting to throw my frame into the bin and get something normal and now it's ok. Still you'll be better off with a medium rise like the 1080/385/30 Zhi.
  15. please put this off for another month or two... the last comp was in april
  16. Greetings

    Snow!

Because they never get it. They ride in t-shirts in the winter and complain it rains all the time.
  17. Forget it, checked google. Bloody Americans destroying our wonderful language again.
  18. Greetings

    Snow!

It's apparently going to start snowing this end at 4am GMT. Can't wait to be pissed off tomorrow morning when it turns out the forecast was correct.
  19. Yep, that's exactly why it's such a hard choice. The HC3 seems to me like a budget little camera for an average consumer who has no idea about what he really wants and only goes by definition. That's probably why the only way to check these cameras is to go to a showroom and have it presented which I will do shortly. These are however the only two models that are within my price range, one of which is impossible to find so there isn't much of a choice. Another thing is that I don't really want something big like the VX2100, but a fairly compact device which I can carry around. Thanks for the link, unfortunately I'm from outside the UK so it won't be possible for me to use them
  20. Liking the idea of the online and offline editing but as you wrote, one needs to keep the time code and tapes in proper order. Some of my tapes have been re-used over 60 times but then they're very cheap and keeping the footage would make watching it all over again in say 10 years quite fascinating. I use Premiere 2.0 which from what you wrote supports this feature. So when exporting the movie, Premiere will just go through my tape again and record what I have placed in the timeline, but in full definition? Sounds great. I still wonder how the cameras are, gone through some huge reviews today and am almost certain about getting one. Once my exams finish, I'll go off to a local Sony shop and have some DV footage shot on one tape with both my camera and the HDV to compare it side by side. Where's JJ and Bash when you need them?
  21. Definitely up for it, but when it's warm! Missed the last years' edition because I was waiting for my bike
  22. how many riders in the world can tuck so that their knees are actually above their back? get your shin geometry sorted, they're too long.
