    post-4061-1211200579_thumb.jpg

Notice there only you on the podium.

More pics when I get them edited!!!

My competition had to go home.

Granted there were only 2 in my class but we were seperated by just 1 mark, so for us it was a fierce as for the younger lot, and as you can tell from my face i was truely made up and buzzing.

You have to be in it to win it.

    What a day.

    JP

there was actually a second and third but as soon as John exposed his armpits they both fell off

At least my van didn't get stuck ................................................................................

watch this space for some top pics from Fred.

  2. I have secured an official pro photographer for this weekend so we should get some top pics for you all to buy off his web site.

Looking forward to it it should be great.

    John.

  3. Blackpool this weekend.

Last year was the best day ever loads of people riding and watching.

I had 1 rider to ride against at Hook woods in Surry.

Do any of you kids have dads that will have a go in the over 30,s class. It is a real good laugh, they might even get on the podium to have a cuddle with the young totty we have booked.

Who is coming lets have a show of hands, then I know how hard I have to train this week.

    John P

They were taken yesterday as a introduction to trials for him, His name is Lee and he was amazed at what he saw.

Have a look and maybee even buy one off his site.

    Thanks again.

    See you all on Sunday.

    John.

  5. I was lucky enough to get the very last Megamo Pro Equip 26" brand fire new last year complete with ally rotors. :D

I was amazed at how well they worked wet or dry, I was told from various people that they would let me down eventually, oh no I new best........NOT. :$

When the pads wore down i ordered new ones, cost a fortune, I then fitted em and then I relised that the discs were shot as well.

I managed to get some more off Fred savage, fitted them and changed the pads again just to make sure, still shite. <_<

granted they were old Magura Loise (I think) and things have come on a bit since then, but if you need to ride your bike to play out or anything like that be warned they will not last, however if like full on comp riders you ride your bike in a section and carry it to the next one i am guessing that they will last and work amazing.

Give em a try but don't say you were never warned, let us know how you get on. ;)

    Good luck.

    John.

  6. Matt you are a true legend, some pretty cool moves there and the music didn't make my hearing aid blow up either.

You summ trials up for me and you will be bashing about when you are as old as me making people laugh, you never seem to be not enjoying it no matter how much blood you have lost.

I am pretty sure that is the only vid i have seen where some one is happy to show the gaffs and not try and make himself out to be some GOD umongst men.

If I had been there with you it would have ended in tears.

I would like you to put a video together for Robbie in the same style as that one.

Give me a call and we will pop over to Barlick and have a play.

    Nice one pal.

    JP

  7. Will it effect the way that younger riders come through the ranks,? to me that is the million doller question

look at Sam Oliver awesome 20" rider but no way ready for a 26" bike, so he gets left behind and forgotten about maybee,

You have many riders who fall into this seam I think, look at the Donnerlys(sp) James sherriden, chris Walker, chris Boyes ect and then even further down the line in years to come Jack Carthy, Tom Oliver our Rob will the sport even go on for 20".

My thoughts are that it is bike manufacturers that will play a big part in all of this, it is far easier to sell a "mountain bike" (said in the loosest terms) than a 20" (bmx without a seat) and just maybee they can/do influence the big cheeses at BIU with money and promisses, who knows.

Look at media ie MBUK, Extreme channel, all of the demo riders out there all seem to be about 26" bikes the man in the street can relate to this type of bike I guess.

It is a shame but will it ever go full circle I wonder?

Just my thought for the day. ;)

  8. Are you becoming a bike tart JP? Next thing you'll be doing all this to your Megamo to try and top the battle that your having with Mr Raven!

Ah well that battle will be fought, won or lost over many an eve at Shipley Glen with our shirts off big rock rules comp.

As far as weight goes for me, all I need do is stop drinking so much bloody Stella and loose a couple of stone.

  9. I have been busy grinding, milling and chopping away at work this morning, stupid thing is I forgot to weigh the frame before I started :$

Any how, off to shot blasting today all being well to take the powder coating off, then annodising, then build.

Thanks for the ideas so far I will be putting some if not all into practice.

    John.

  10. I am building a new bike up for Robbie over the next few weeks, the Hydroxx is simply just to much for him at his size.

I do belive that all of this saving a bit here and there is a waste of time for most riders, however when you are 10 years old and 5 stone you need all the help you can get and bike strength is not as much an issue at the moment.

What I would like to do is build something as light as his old Wasp, about 7.5kg. nice and short but with a full size back wheel in it. I would like some good ideas from all of you techi types out there as to how and what to use to make a really light bike for him.

I have the frame but I don't want to let that out yet, drilling and cutting has started on the frame allready. :o

All ideas welcome and remember there is no such thing as a stupid idea, go on have a bit of fun with this one and run with it.

    Thanks in advance,

    JP. (Y)
