  1. I doubt this will replace any helmet technology because ,as said, the tech is already pretty top notch.

Also a helmet where either the outer plastic or inner polystyrene replaced with D30 material because its probably a lot heavier, which will make the helmet uncomfortable.

  2. Would love to give one of those bikes to Benito, see what he would be able to do on it.

My mates got one of those monty frames and triple-clamp forks sat in his shed, in mint condition. He's got the bars too.

He's planning on building it up sometime soon (Y)

    Like the vid a lot.

  3. After four years I've decided to move on from the Adamant A2 and gone for a streetier bike.

I've just finished installing the last of the new parts. Here are some photos of it before and after the modifications.

    With the new parts

Couple of nice photos with the old parts.

    The main spec points are:

    Phase M.A.D. 1.3 frame

    Echo SL forks

    Trialtech sport forged stem

    Zoo! Risers

    Middleburn rs7 cranks 20t

Echo 07 rim built onto Hope xc hub.

    Comment please.

  4. 3 zip ties=1.5mm spacer. only for use if you really need a spacer desperately.

Did this a few years ago when i was on holiday with a mate in wales. was sorting my hub out and realized i needed a spacer. but, being in the middle of no-where dan just put three zipties in a triangle on the end of the last spacer done the lockring up and cut off the excess. that probably don't make sense but i don't have any pictures of how it was done because i changed it for a normal spacer when i got home.

  5. You've got my support mate. Its never nice being in hospital.

I had to go in for a couple of days over xmas with glandular and i hated every second.

    Hope you get out soon.

I'm sure there'll be others to here to show some support.

  6. Have you got any personal experience with that? I admit, that using water in discs might cause problems when overheated but on the other side, this is not case of trials riding. Anyway, I wouldn´t recomend using water in discs to anyone who is happy with oil. I just wanted to show that there is also an alternative. Good setting of brakes is in the first place of course. :)

Nah, never really had the need for it as I've never had to pay for dot4. The main reason i use water in maggies is because its free.

  7. "Bigger rotor...more leverage round hub, more bite and hold. Smaller rotor...the opposite"

Bigger rotor gives you only more leverage. Bite and hold is given by the size of surface where pads touches the rotor. Some rotors are made to fit exactly the size of pads and in some cases the contact surface of 160s is bigger than 180s used with inapropriate brake. It depends. For example if you run Avid rotor with Hope mono trial you won´t get the best of it because the surface of pads is larger then rotor. The same if you run Hope trial rotor with Avid brake, but in this case pads won´t cover all the surface of rotor. Good drilling is also importat because it helps to mantain braking power by cleaning the pads. What matters the most is of course the brake itself. Good disc brake is efficient even with the poor rotor. I use Hope mono mini on both wheels and it´s great. Now I am trying them filled with water. Not to improve a lever feel, because Hopes work perfectly, but to reduce micro-leaking which gradually attracts dirt and decreases braking performance.

Are you saying that you've bled your disc brake with water? If so that's not the greatest of ideas to be honest.

  8. its not an expensive headset!! i went for it because of the low stack height and its something different

as i was trying to explain each different model is designed for a specific style of cycling, cobalt is xc opium is dh, there is no point going for the cobalt unless the colours match

A headset is a headset the differ in weight and pefrormance and price depends what you want, Id allways spend a good amount on a headset because of the warrenties and minimal maintenance

id go thro a fair few pigs before a king would give up

I wasn't on about that particular headset, i was just on about them in general.

I dont think i've ever broken a pig, or know anyone who has for that matter. All ive had to do is replace bearing which cost a couple of quid at most. and the headset itself costs just £15. so you'd have to go through quite a few to make it worth buying a king.

  9. Valkyre, opinions?

    Good film.

Elephant warrior- tony jaa is epic

    Shawshank redemption

    Seven pounds

    Dude, wheres my car

    Kevin and perry, go large

    The last samurai

    Transporter

    Crank

    Mega shark vs giant octopus

    Star wars saga

  10. Yup just fitted the opium c, looking forward to see how it copes, i would avoid the cobalt its an xc/race less bearings (wont cope with the stress that get put throught the 28 balls, i went for the opium cos 34 balls and ment for dh sohope it will last. Plus its 1 gram of a difference and afive year warrenty cant complain at that

My pig is currently running 5 ball bearings in the bottom race haha works beautifully. tops fully loaded though so alls good.

I wouldnt spend ridiculous money on a headset. all ive ever bought are Pigs, except for the FSA Orbit i put in my 4x bike but i never really noticed the difference to be honest. As for wieght just man up, its not a huge amount. I'm sure there are people with much heavier bikes than yours that will be able to dick you in comps.
