I tidied my room at uni today and decided i would change a few things round while I was at it.
Moved the bed from where the Laptop and amp are to where the bigger drawers used to be, the laptop used to be ontop of the amp with the two speakers on the big drawers, but the stereo sound is much better now the speakers are spread. Need to tidy the window silll yet and i've gotten rid of the cleaning bottles from the bedside table.
I no longer have to wake up and see myself as soon as I open my eyes, i'm closer to the door, so closer to the toilet/fridge, no bedside lamp, so I don't lie in bed and smoke right before bed, I can't just reach over and turn it off, and because it's all changed I know i'll have a great sleep tonight.
anyway enough talking shite.

The EEE PC is now my laptop, the dell get's referred to as a desktop. I've got network sharing set-up so films and music etc is on the dell, which is also used with a Freeview USB Stick and hooked up to the amp for watching films and stuff, might try and get a 22" HD TV soon, depending on how money works out over the next while.

When I have enough upload credit i'll trade you a torrentbully invite for one from you for demonoid?
I commonly get download speeds of 300-400k from there, but you pretty much HAVE to up-load as much as you download, or seed for what they consider to be an acceptable amount of time, usually 2 or 3 days I think.
Personally i'd not be happy with 30k, but like you say it depends on the torrent and such.
try downloading an aXXo torrent, go for the most popular and see what sorta speeds you get. if it goes high youll know its not your set up.

I find if I am uploading at full speed downloads go much slower because i cant send out requests for new seeds as much.

if your actually making them cranks get in touch with me, I did a similar project not so long ago and could give you some ideas for a fixture for machining.
youll need to make midifications to allow a crank puller in there is the first thing i noticed scanning over it.

I very much doubt you NEED a laptop for a course at school.
You might want to have one to make things easier, but you won't need it, and I bet what you do want it for, your current laptop would do fine.
Very silly to say you will buy only sony, there is so much better out there for the money.

I went with the Netgear DG834 from Amazon as it was a bit cheaper. Although it was crap to setup. The Netgear Asian helpline was appalling. They just ran through stuff i'd already tried and charged me at national rate.
Anyhow sorted the problem myself in the end. Haven't had the chance to configure the firewall on it yet but it's running so that's ok for now.
I do have Virgin yeah. They do use cable but i have the ADSL connection which is 8mbps. As we can't get any more in our area.

Im kinda puzzled about what it was you had to set up, as far as I remember it was just a case of putting the username and password into the right boxes along with some other bits, but this was about 3 years ago now.....

f**k feedback, blacklist him. I don't think we should be giving people second chances after it's gone so far as to have police calling at their door.
Half of buying/selling is communication. I know that when I sold my pure on here the deal went through REALLY slowly, but me and steve were in touch at least a few times a Week, we talked on the phone a few times, and when things went wrong, I had NO problem answering the phone and talking to him, as far as I know he was happy with how the deal happened.
I was concerned that my status as a seller would be affected when I realised that of the three parcels I sent, two got to him, and parcel force said no-one of that name lived at that address for the third!
but yeh, IMO, adab should be blacklisted.

course there are, a guy got sent down for killing a 15 years old girl 17 years ago or something, it was on the news jut yesterday.
I only know cos his trial was in dundee but i expect it was on the national news.

24 Season 7 Thread!

DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT THE SHOW RUINED. I WATCH THE US VERSIONS OF THE SHOW WHICH ARE SHOWN BEFORE THOSE ON UK SKY.
So Season 7 has started, with the obligatory assination of the first witness, Jacks FBI woman is well hot, and Tony is a bad guy back from the dead sporting a new haircut. BUT by the end of the second episode we find out tony has pretty much gone all nina myers on the US and started selling technology to other countries. My guess is that General JUMA wants to use the device to control airtraffic over his own country, when the air raid takes place, but maybe it's to be used on american soil? who knows.
I had no idea the US screening of it would be the first two episode on one night, but i woke up this morning to find the next two, EP 3 and 4 available to download so am waiting the next 15 minutes or so to see them.
Who else has been watching??
Anyway I tried to find the original 24 thread, but searching 'the 24 thread' doesn't help! if a mod can find and merge the topics that'd be dead on.
