I went for Koxx days and loved it so much that i said i'd go in the summer. Been talking to 2 friends you are hopefully up for it, but we haven't booked anything yet, just been planning.
Are you thinking of camping up there? Would be good to contact Buthiers to see if they could open the facilities as long as we pay. I was thinking of going around the last week of June/early July, but it depends on other things atm so can't really book anything, but i'll have to let you know if anything changes

Im at hallam too, do you know which halls your in?
I stayed at Charlotte Court in my first year and i just kept my bike in my room and it was fine
Ah cool. I'll be applying for Charlotte Court, Bramall Court and somewhere else. Did you get many room inspections? I'll have to give you a pm nearer the time about riding
To what someone said earlier...i wasn't thinking of taking my bike until i get settled in after about 3 weeks.

I didn't think this many people would reply, it's good to hear what others do with their bikes.
No matter how safe that they say that the bike sheds/rooms are I have always been put off keeping my bike in one. I like some people's suggestions with room inspections...especially Smo's ha. It would be good if i could keep my bike under my bed therefore it's hidden better and takes up less space.
thanks for all your advice

I've tried searching but i couldn't find anything that was useful.
I should be going to Sheffield Hallam university next year and i will definately want to take my bike. I'm not keen on leaving it in the providied bike storage/shed as i can imagine that anyone can go in there etc.
Ideally i would like to keep it in my room (i know it will get in the way, but this will be safest), but i guess that most places won't alllow. What does everyone who goes to uni and takes their bike do?

That was awesome. It was really nice to see different lines in there, with some big moves in between. Really loved that, nice one

Never really seen pics other than taken with your fisheye but these are great. So clear and sharp and some have a good shallow DOF which works really well. I want Stan's bike! What stem is he running?
-
I'm pretty sure that'd be fine. Just use the oven job to get the pads out of the plastic backings, and glue them in. I think normal superglue's alright, just make sure to clamp and leave it for long enough.
I've heard people do this before and say it gives a really good brake so i wouldn't mind trying it myself
-
That looks really nice cause it's so plain and simple without the stickers.
I thought you had an Ozonys, what happened to it?
-
LOL at your BB!!! What was it? I see you've got new cranks...
Nice pictures Karl, getting really good
-
Was hoping that you'd post up some cool flash pics for some reason....Some good pictures in there!
They would look really good if it was darker so there is less background, and also if your bike was blue
-
Enjoyed that. Quite a relaxed video with some smooth riding, and fairly big.
I want your bike, looks so nice! Do those frames flex much?
-
Some really good pics there Bessel, never seen you post any before. What camera are you using?
Looked like a really good event though.

Nice little vid John, need to turn the wind down thought
I watched these clips on your tape you left round mine from koxx Days hehe.
Oops i forgot. Just rushed to put it all together. Ride there tomorrow if the weather's decent???
Beast Jon. Getting well good now man.I rememver the 1st time i took you down there, what seems like years ago. Youve come on a long way since then.
I miss riding hunstanton
Seems like ages ago But still remember it now and the good times we had. Still got that first time we went on video where you tried racing that sport punto lolssss.
You'll have to come down just so we can all ride sunny hunny again!!
Good old sunny hunny!!nice video that man!
it was good seeing you sunday! shame about the blue!
Was good to see you too. I also blame the blue frame from stopping me riding stuff ha.

Since i'd built my bike back up after spraying it i hadn't really rode it, so decided to go to Hunstanton for some natural riding along the beach. Kind of a little natural ride before going to Koxx Days. Just chucked it together in movie maker with a song.
I would of filmed more street in some lit up areas but i came off quite bad so had to go home early. I know some of you may find it boring, but like i said just a load of clips chucked together.
Let me know what you think

Saw these tyres at Koxx Days, and didn't really like them. When i saw them on bikes being ridden they just seemed to go grey/brown.
Bike looks nice otherwise though. I really like the Hydroxx frames!

Some nice pics there Karl. Wish i didn't have work and could of come earlier, as when i did it didn't stop raining
Always wanted to go to that playground bit as it looks good. That pic of Wally's tweaked drop looks pretty cool

Shame it's not closer to summer, I'd say have a BBQ on the beach and then a bonfire / beers until the sun rises
That'll definately be something for the summer! Good idea though. That's pretty cool that you dj'd your own party.
Always thought you were older than me JonDidn't do much for mine.. Just went up town at night, normal weekend really. Boring
Not really sure what to suggest, paintballing would be fun but you've already said that
I really want to go paintballing. Last time i went for my friend's 16th i think, we were against his sister and her friends and they beat us
PAINTBALLING JON!!!!!!all of us lot would turn up if not me n adrian will take you clubbin in norwich?
Definately gonna go stay at my sister's again. Last time they were ID'ing loads though. Will let you know if i do

What time will everyone be out until??? I finish work at 5 on Sunday (but might be able to finish at 4) so i could be riding an hour after i finish

Right so i've got my birthday coming up in about 3 weeks, and haven't got around to making a decision about what to do. Most people's 18ths are usually go for a meal, then go to clubs, or have a black tie do in a hall, but i fancy doing something a bit different.
My first idea was paintballing, but my girlfriend and other friends won't want to go. Gay.
Then i thought go-karting, but everywhere round here only takes a minimum booking of so many people, and it'd cost loads.
Does anyone have any ideas for something to do that's a bit different to normal 18th's?? Any ideas will be great (aslong as they're not illegal or anything )

Some huge riding in there, most of those rocks just look massive. Didn't really like the music, so just turned it down.
Did he take 2 bikes out that day?
And it looks like his camera dies at the end?
Bike's looking pretty nice

What they said really. I'm no expert with spraying, but being as i did my own frame i thought i'd comment on what i did. Do make sure you spend time on it. Make sure to sand your frame down, you don't have to go down to the metal, it's just to roughen the surface so the paint sticks better, but make sure you sand all areas evenly. When i did my frame i rushed this and some areas are a bit too rough. start with like p120, then work your way up. Clean your frame from any paint/dust and you're ready to start spraying. I think it also helps to have some heat on your frame to also help the paint stick (but i did do mine when it was like freezing so used a portable heater thing). Definately use primer, and depending on what colour you're spraying will effect what colour primer to use. Lightly sand between coats of primer to help build up layers. I used a 500ml can of primer which gave me about 4 coats i think. For spray, i got some paint that was a bit more pearlescent mixed for me at Halfords and put into a 'holts' can i think it is, which is very good and accurate for spraying. Quite expensive as you'd need 2 cans, but i got it cheaper as i work there. I probably ended up doing about 7 coats of paint, and to finish it off about 3 coats of laquer.
Just take your time and do not rush it and it'll come out good

Good stuff Wally. I can't believe how small most of that stuff looks And my new camera doesn't work that well with that fish eye which is annoying.
I thought the song went well, with some smooooooth riding

I'll be coming, hopefully entering later on tonight. Gonna try and do as many rounds as possible this year. Dudwood's a great venue, so i hope they'll be alot of people. Should be coming with a friend or two, and will try to see if they might enter. Really looking forward to it

Thanks for the information and advice, 'tis good to know what it will be like
Good to hear from someone about what it's like at Sheffield. Are there many riders round the city? I have been getting back into bmx again recently, but only really the little bit of dirt jumping.
I'm going to be doing Architectural Technology, what are you doing?
