It just fallen down the sodding stairs, landed on my back and scratched my ipad screen. Not ideal.

just got an error message on my mac saying my hard drive is failing. i still have apple care cover but its less than ideal having to send it off for repair.

People using super to emphasize how excited they are, ie I'm super excited. Or if somethings quite good, ie that's super good. If you have ever used super in this way then you are a super tool and you make me angry. Goodbye.
i went on a work trip with a guy who did this and at first i didn't notice it but by the end of the week it was really starting to grind on me.

Suits
The Newsroom
Ray Donovan
All american and all amazing.
Suits is about a young lawyer who is not technically a lawyer but has an eidetic memory so it can pass off being a lawyer.
The newsroom follows a new rooms through real life news stories, its written by the same guy who wrote The social network and West Wing.
Ray Donovan is a new one only about 4 episodes in but its about a "fixer" in LA he just goes around sorting rich peoples issues.

Off to some Aston Martin racing on Saturday, 7d and a sigma 170-500.
Nt shot motor sport before. As the sigma isn't the fastest lens in the world I'm thinking a single centre focus point would probably be a good call?
I shall try my hand at panning, again something iv not tried before.
Hopfully the weather is good. Don't fancy a day sat in the rain.
May be out to get out in a friends DBS at lunch time which would be cool.
Photos to come.
That fly shot is great! Love the colour.

Travelled for an hour to veiw a car I had found online. Turned out to be very sketchy. The battery was so flat the dash wouldn't light up, it didn't have the original wheels on and the dealer couldn't explain why and it also had what appeared to be brand new carpet in, again no explanation.
Walked away and wasted two hours of my life, the joys of buying cars.

Mk1 Audi TT. Fancy something a little different, and have no desire for another hatch back. Budget is about 4k, I think I'm going to have to go for the 180bhp version due to insurance.
What sort of things should I be looking out for, I know at that sort of age and mileage I need to ensure the cam belt and water pump have been done. Is there anything else I should avoid or be aware of.
I figured as a lot of you are running the same engines in various cars this would be a good place to start.
I'm aware of the perception of the TT being a hair dressers car but I really couldn't care. I don't think they have aged like similar cars of that age.
Thanks

i still cant believe how prices have come down over the past couple of years. when i went traveling a few years back. 4gb cards where costing like 25 quid each.
glad i could help.
iv been so lazy with my camera recently, think im getting bored by my limited focal lengths. iv been saving up for something longer and am now torn between a 70-200 f4 l or a second hand sigma 70-200 2.8
anybody have either of these lens?

i have always used 7dayshop.co.uk never had any issues with anything brought from them.

On the ram note prices seem to have rocketed. My 8gb was ~£30 about a year ago.
i noticed this too, I looked at ram for my mini end of last year and im sure it was about £40 for 16gb now its closer to £100
SSD prices do seem to be coming down which is a good thing.
does any body know if its possible to boot from a USB drive, i dont really want to risk my warrenty fitting the SSD internally but rather stick it in a USB3 caddy and just boot from that? Would the speeds be better than the 5400rpm internal drive thats in it now.
Thanks

Thanks matey. Very nice shots. Iv done most of my bird photography through double glazed windows so I know it's not easiest thing in the world.

have you taken the background out of the top image?
nice sharp images though, what lens where you using?
-
i found after i got my new mac mini that it took a few days of use to get properly snappy and i think this was down to spotlight search was indexing after that its flying. 16gb of ram will be going in soon and possibly a ssd although im struggling to justify it at the moment.
off topic but still relevant. there are a few viruses popping up recently disguised as java updates. i have been recommended sophos anti virus for mac. its a free download from their website.

where do you get your film developed? do you get the images on a disk or have you scanned them in yourself?

This is the same camera I have and it has served me well for four years, never missed a beat. The kit lens will do you just fine for learning the ropes.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290848125217
It may end up for a little bit more than £200 but its got everything you need to get started.
You could probably pick up 400d or 350d but the 450d gets you a larger screen and a few more pixels to play around with. It's also a good base to start with as once you get to know what your doing some nice glass will still create some stunning results.
If you want any more info feel free to drop me a pm.

just brought a olympus trip off ebay for 6 quid. Never shot film before so I'm quite excited.
Any advice, best place to buy film?
Cheers

I agree that the staff I have dealt with in the new Nottingham branch were never that clued up but the quality of their prints in comparison to the cost and time they could turn them around in was a bonus.
I'm just gutted because I can't find anywhere else who does interest free credit on camera gear. Wex do buy know and pay 6 months later but if you miss the 6 month cut off period the interest is sky high.
I also feel for the staff and any customers who have out standing orders or gift vouchers which are now not worth the paper they are printed on.

i reckon jessops would do you a deal on repairing that i had this issue on a sigma it would only shoot wide open on my 450d but on my mates 400d it was fine. im sure i read somewhere its to do with the chip in the lens, it can be fixed but im not sure for how much.
Great news on those shots look cracking.
In other jessops related news, i was just about to put an order down a 70-200 f4 on interest free only to find out they had gone into administration.

I know this isn't the right forum but didn't want to start a thread in for sale as it appeals so such a small minority.
Thanks

House of cards is an amazing series although I think it's only on Netflix. The newsroom is also a very well written series, I recommend checking both of those out.
