  2. Anybody know a decent place in Nottingham for secondhand tyres? I can't afford new ones right now and need a stop gap :( seen a few places about, but I'm worried where they get them from and what kind of abuse they have had

Tyre barn out towards Grantham do second and I think. Not quite Nottingham but not to far out.

  3. I use the old cactus type which I believe are the same as the cheap eBay ones, I have lightly modified mine with aa battery packs on the receivers and also an external antenna on the transmitter and this seemed to help massively in terms of distance and stability. Try some photography forums there are usually some knocking about second hand.

If you want a hand modifying them if you do get some just give a shout.

  4. Right I have decided to get a panorama I made a while back printed. Rather than one wide print I was thinking of several separate prints preferably a3 that make up the whole image.

My problem is I have no idea what is the best way to go about sectioning up the image.

If anyone has any idea it would be a great help or even what this process is called so I can try and find a tutorial.

    Thanks a lot

    Joe

  5. Anybody had any luck setting the pi up with a external USB hdd and running it as a nas. That's my main plane for mine. I have found a couple of walk throughs online but it gets a it complex rather quickly.

    Thanks

  6. It would depend on what you put on the sd card. If you wanted a GUI you could install a stripped down version on linux or another common choice is rasbmc which a stripped down version of xbmc so a media front end for it. Plenty of options of what they can be used for though. I started playing with mine today but I have no experience in Linux and very very limited knowledge of using a command line.

  7. Yeah that is very true. At the moment im using mine for shorter runs 5-6 miles and then my trusty old asics for anything longer. Im hoping for a pair of fly knits in the not too distance future. Now if you want light thats what you should go for. although i have no idea on how much they are going to cost.

  8. i have 2 pairs of these one set of V.5 and an early model i think v.3 i also have some top spec asics normal running shoes and to be completely truthful with you i prefer the asics for running anything more than 5 miles in. they are very light but unless you have the correct running style this shoes i believe are going to do you more harm then good.

i was in the same boat as you and thought oh they look cool and i think barefoot running would be for me, but i found that they gave me calf strain which is something i have never suffered in a normal pair of running shoes. now i cannot comment on a pair of normal nike running shoes as i had a pair but only wore them once as they where the wrong size. (if you are wondering why i have some many pairs of nike running shoes i have a friend who works there so i pay next to nothing for them)

i would not buy them without being put on a running machine in a specialists sports shop and being advise that they would be suitable for you.

Hope this clears things up for you.
