I've used all three brakes, and put them in this order (first being my favourite) MT6 - MT7 - MT5.
The MT6 offers slightly more pad clearance so doesn't rub as much, the brake holds really well (not quite on par with the MT7 / MT5, but more than enough) and from my experience, has more modulation than the 4pot brakes. I haven't checked, but would hazard a guess the MT6 brakes are slightly lighter too...
The MT7 has a little more adjustment capability, so works a tad better than the MT5 (in terms of clearance). Also, when using the 4 pot brake, the MT5 has a two pad configuration (vs. 4 pad configuration on the 7), in my experience the two pad configuration feels more reliable / has less pad rock.
If you can get one of the newer 1-finger levers then the brakes feel more 'solid' than the two finger levers (and more comfortable). In terms of pad choice, the Magura standard pads are excellent once worn in (which should take less than 30 mins), offer great modulation vs. power. I would highly recommend keeping them and giving them a try before you go straight out and buy some aftermarket pads.
Finally, the price, MT6 is middle of the road (£130ish), with the 5 being the cheapest (£90ish) / 7 most expensive (£170ish).
Thank you! Do the MT5's have the Bite point adjustments? or is it reach only? I'd thought the MT5s would cost more than that!
Cheers

If you're wanting to learn to drift, don't spend 10k on a car for it! You're most likely going to at least knock it, if not completely destroy it.
An e36 or 46 is pretty hard to beat in terms of sideways fun time for the amount of fixing and modifying it'll need. If you really want something Japanese, a 350z would be a good shout. They're not really any more than an s-body these days and would almost certainly make a better daily driver and be more reliable. S-bodys were great, reliable cars 15 years ago, buy finding one now that's not been abused to the point of needing constant upkeep is basically impossible, and a shame to then use it to learn to drift in, most likely making it one of the troublesome ones by the time you've had your fun.
A ready done turbo mx-5 would be a good bet, you could get a really nice one for that money and if you did bin it, it can be reshelled for pennies.
I would love to have a seperate drift car but where I'm living I have my park my car on the street no driveways on my road and also only allowed 2 parking permits per house (Wife's car is on the permit too)
I did have a look at the E36's and E46's but I don't really know them cars. I'm more of a JDM person from all the cars I've had (3) As for the S-body's I've thought about it too I don't want to it to be sat in a workshop somewhere fixing someone else's abuse! I've found a S15 for £8900 I'll be going to have a look at it soon, I have a feeling the car has been VERY abused!
I still love the shape of the E36 estate! Someone is coming to look at my car sometime next week. Hopefully I can get rid of it! It looks practical from the outside (2009 Lexus GS450h) until Lexus thought is would be a GREAT idea to put the Hybrid battery in the boot! I can barely fit my mod bike and a backpack in there or 1 golf bag and a umbrella. Wished I got the GS300 instead!

S2000 are no good for drifting. It's the engines not the chasis. Panels are going to be expensive and you will crash.
MX5 is a good car easy to get spares, cheap to buy and repair. Underpowered but anything will slide.
Why not go for an old bmw with an m50/52 engine. Inline six. Dirt cheap, less than a mx5. Loads of spares available and the engines are bomb proof.if I remember right they are around 200bhp. In Europe people turbo them and double that figure on standard internals. Drums on the back with a hydro will lock really well too!
Also if you are thinking about drifting you may want to look and see what available mods there are for your car before committing, especially angle mods.
I do agree with the expensive panels for the S2000! I've rarely seen people using them for drifting I thought maybe why not try them!
I would go for the older BMW's but I also need it to be a daily. I did get an offer from a close friend for his N54 Single turbo kit. He's running it on stock internals too but if something did go wrong I don't think the N54 engines are as cheap as a SR20! or even an RB25

I have been keeping an eye out for those. Just waiting for the right one if I do not buy anything before then!

I was going to Lexus GS300 (2JZ-GE) but the conversion to manual will cost about the price of the car, it is more practical but can't justify spending that much for a manual conversion!

Knock a zero off the budget and I'd suggest MX-5.
S2000 is a good shout, but depends what your needs are really - they're not exactly practical, but are reliable and fun.
Well I mean. I've always wanted to start learning drifting, I've heard the MX5's Are a bit underpowered for drifting?
As for practicality if I were to get a S2000 I've been looking at the Spoon S2k Hardtop. In my opinion the OEM hardtop looks odd and not a big fan of soft tops but bike rack SHOULD! be able to fit.
It looks like the only downside to the S2000 is if I wanted forced induction, it's rather costly

I need some help with choosing a good little car for daily use. I had the S2000 in mind and a Nissan S14 or 13 if I can find them. Budget is about £10k. Would there be any other cars you guys would recommend?
I do prefer it to be JDM and RWD

Hello there!
I have Marino 24" forks and a Hope Mono Trial No.5 Caliper using a 160mm Rotor on a Hope Pro 2 Evo hub with a quick release. Basically the rotor is rubbing the caliper. I've tried different rotors but doesn't help!
Rubbing just on the below the right pad
If anyone could give me some advice it would be much appreciated!
Cheers

There are a few places around like Birmingham. Shrewsbury and possibly a few places in Telford but havent found a lot. It doesnt take long to catch the train to either Shrewbury (20 odd minutes) or Birmingham (40 minutes). If you want to ride Message me or add me on Facebook.

I'm almost in the area. I live in Bridgnorth BUT I haven't tried riding in Telford. I've just started riding again about a month ago!

Anyone know if jame's porter is still riding?
I don't know why but this video reminds's me of the last time I rode with Ben Rowlands in reading his Giant frame got crushed by a bus but still carried on riding just needed a little true for the wheel.

Nissan Stagea and Mitsubishi Galant VR4 spring to mind when I think of quick Japanese practical cars, or are you not an Estate fan? Can't help think that a big BMW/Audi/Merc would also suit your needs perfectly, What's the reason for only looking at Japanese stuff?
Scirocco's on the road now, but still suffering from some pretty severe clutch slip unfortunately. When it does bite it pulls bloody well though! More investigation tomorrow I think unless some research throws up something easy I can do tonight.
Thank you for you're suggestion I'm not a big fan of the estate's.
Answering you're question about why I prefer JDM's at the moment is because I have a few friend's who work in the JDM industry and it's but a lot cheaper for me to get engine tuning and JDM accessories for the JDM car's. The reason I picked the Subaru, Mitsubishi and the Lexus is because It's just my friend's can easily supply me with anything for these car's but for half the price.

I'm looking for a new car my current car is S14a but it is not very suitable for a newly born baby.
I am looking at a Subaru Impreza 06, Mitubishi Evo 7/8 may be 9 if it's in my budget and also a Lexus GS300 2001 (for it's 2JZ)
Or if you could give me reccomendations for any other cars. I would like to stick with the JDM's though.
These cars will my modifed for hellaflush spec as like my S14a.
Thank You

I love gorilla glass. Not a single scratch on my screen to date. Shame about yours though
It's the screen still works fine though just the glass is smashed.
-
Hey guys.
This happened today short version texting drop and broke glass but the screen still works BUT if you drop it from up stairs window it doesn't smash!
Lesson learned how not to break a gorilla glass throw it harder or drop it higher.

This reminds me of the video Boon It.
anyone remember that?

I had a couple of them.
I can honestly say the sound is good but Skull Candy does sound as good. Oh P. Diddy headphones and it broke the mic doesnt work very well and only one side works same as my lady gaga ones.
My P. Diddy lasted roughly around 2 months and my Lady Gaga lasted 6 weeks.
Skull Candy has lasted almost 1 year and 3 months. The reason why I buy these headphones is that £9.99 from TKMAX and if you don't want to go to TKMAX then HMV £19.99 I think.

Hey.
I've been having a problem with my Wi-Fi. It has been doing this for the past 2 days I cant solve it.
Example:
I'm browsing through trials-forum get them it seems like my Wi-Fi has disconnect and the page I want to go into just keeps loading doesn't do anything but load.
My laptop still says I'm still connected but the page will not load, I'm using Firefox so it just says connecting on the tab And recently the broadband speed seemed a bit slow but checked the speed I was getting it was Download speed 43220 Kbit/s which seems fine and upload speed 4098 Kbit/swhich it fine too Ping 22.
Broaband Provider: Virgin
Modem: Virgin
Broadband Speed: 50Mbp
Wireless Router: D-link (came with the package)
Laptop: Acer Aspire 7540
Oh one more thing I also have a Sony Vaio and a MacBook Pro but they seem to work fine with no problem.
Could anyone help to solve this problem?

The not having the BAT and pad rock like you mentioned makes me feel like I'd just get the Tech 3 lever Trialzone set-up. I like having the lever travel a very pull quite short it just helps me with my manuals! I tend to pull the lever a bit too hard if I have a lot of travel cant get used to it!
I do still want to try the MT brakes but if there a bit temperamental makes it a bit nah for me. I'm not the softest rider to be honest unless I'm riding my mod.
Thank you for the help guys. Really appreciate it
