  1. rear sprockets ride on a hope using a single speed conversion fronts are bolt on and tensioner is a one off with two jocky wheels
  2. just throwing it out there to see what you think. dont get too obsessed with the weight thing you probably weigh loads more than when you started. its about safety and ive seen plenty of you lads take a nose dive through a snapped chain.
  3. were trying a twin 3/32 chain setup on a stock bike. adds a little weight but i doubt it will snap and gives you bigger balls.
  4. where can i get one. the 3/32 dont last. I can only find 13t but need a 12t
  5. cheap disc brake set ups can be had off ebay for a fiver. they are ex mini moto and brand new. they are cable, but they do come with disc, caliper and pads, adaptor for 10mm axle and lever. The disc is only 120mm diameter so you have good ground clearance but the calipers have really big pads and are way more powerful than ordinary bike cable disc setups. OK you need a disc front hub but what do you want for a fiver. your thoughts?
  6. you need to be very careful before you bend it back, it might crack. better to use spacers and flex it back. how bent is it. move the maguras right out and use worn pads to get clearance rather than bend it.
  7. what about a twin 3/32 chain set up for you stock lads.
  8. instead of a snailcam use a round washer the right size or one thats slightly to big and file one notch in it.
  9. its for when your droping off 37 pallets and your fw skips.
  10. Ok. What about replaceble bolt in down tube and chain stays to repair damage.
  11. ok thanks OMB i'll take on board your constuctive critiscism.I thought they need to be rear wheel happy, getting the bike instantly on the back seems like the favourite tecnique but i can understand the problem getting the power down for a gap which seems bad. when I say " enclosed design" I dont mean you cant see the chain its just that its all on the inside of the deep chain stay.It can still be viewed from above or below the frame.Point taken with the width of the Maguras I suppose I could compromise and have the head of the cylinders sticking through the frame. Could always use a rear disk which would be much narrower but I understood a lot of riders still prefer a rear magura set up. Have you got a link to Benc Bikes.
  12. Not going to use a copper silicon alloy but even if I was I can get it heat treated anywhere by next day. That aside what do you think of a higher BB.I can accept people might not like the enclosed frame allthough I think it looks clean. My sketch has a BB drop of -100 mm. Its easy to make but I would need a pro rider to test the geometry even if it breaks id be happy to see how an extreme design geometry performs. Were talking R+D here not writing an order out for 10,000 frames.
  13. I was thinking something along the lines of this using extruded alloy section with higher BB enclosing the chain and rear maguras with brake lines inside so nothing to catch on anything. what do you think.
  14. Thats more like it Tom. Im thinking more BB rise as the mod bikes suffer ground clearance compared to Stocks. And also lower stand over hight to get a really slim frame, almost a box section appearance like the GU bikes. what do you think. as these hybrid frames arnt difficult to make and they may well break in trials use like onzaboy pointed out. may as well try something extreme in design.
